$19 bones for a small burger and fries sheeeesh. I'm all for supporting my community. But times are hard as concrete. Its just not financially prudent to spend $20 and still be hungry. Not that its not worth it but money tight and bills keep coming. If you are considering opening a restaurant tread lightly. The next 3 years is gone be rough. People now are going to the store $20 is a whole meal. I can make a pot of chili and rice, spaghetti, beef stew ect...
That should have been $4 plus $1.50 for fries, and I mean it. Newark people get taken advantage of. That virgin act sucks people in.

My man Matt I been tempted to try this spot we have one in Brooklyn but that price is insane lol. Google spring cafe it’s on canal street in manhattan.. I suggest the vegan pulled pork sandwich that I had today. It comes with fries and a black or hibiscus iced tea for 19.50

Much love to our black-owned businesses, no doubt. $19 for a burger and a small side of fries, albeit it crinkle (which is my fav), is WILD! I understand costs are up, but they aren't that up.
These businesses are making places like Applebee's showcase a $10.99 meal where you get a dope smashburger, more fries than that, endless chips and salsa and endless beverages!!! We need to take care of each other and not take advantage of each other.
Edit: I see it's at Tubman Park on Broad. Yeah, I guess they can get my support at least once. SMH. Fellow black folks be guilting us into support LMAO.
FYI, this truck moves around. Tubman Sq is not their permenant location.
@@MattDV - Gotcha... Thanks for the heads up. Still debating on $20 for a Vegan Burger and small side of fries, though. Eventually, when supporting your own becomes cost ineffective it becomes not worth it. I applaud them doing their thing and generating hype like that. I wish he would've named the other cities they were located in, but we can do the leg work..

I could easily become a vegan if I wasn't so lazy to cook the food .
I only eat chicken, fish and ground turkey once in a while .If I go to a cookout, I will eat a burger , hotdog, ribs . I haven't been to a cookout in decades . Lol
One lady told me , she doesnt eat anything that has a mother , or anything that has a face .

19$ is pricey but it’s a small business and I bet she pays her employees well. When employees are not paid well or don’t have benefits, the food is cheaper so what you got might have been 12-13$ but then you would be expected to tip.

I have to say that I like your personality and love your consistency, but I truly feel when you start giving your reviews from the Good and the Bad is when you will grow even more. Being a food critic means giving your opinion whether its good or bad, from the decor to the service to the food. Watching your videos it just makes me look at you like a nice guy that likes food. I think even breaking down a little history of the places you visit to eat helps you and these business owners. Again no harsh words just my feedback I want to see you grow and you will. Your personality is genuine. I think people need to hear your opinion, what you did not like and what you did like.
