    According to the factory workshop manual, the torque spec for the four seat mounting bolts is 18 lb.ft (25 Nm).

    I’ve only done the passenger side so far, but you need a 13mm socket and a 5mm Allen wrench. Can’t seem to turn around well while in the seat but it’s doable without opening the door.

    Great video and install!! wanted to check in to see how the Amazing Auto swivels are working out and if you would recommend them

    • @RichBuilt
      @RichBuilt  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would recommend them for sure on the passenger side, but the drivers side I would probably try and go a different route. I'm short so the seat height increase has more impact on my comfort.

    We had this Amazing Auto professionally installed. Love everything except that it is virtually impossible for my wife to get the swivel to rotate. We cleaned the poly and added a lighter grease to surface at three points with little improvement. Had rented sprinter prior to buying 15 passenger Transit to convert and never had a problem.
    QUESTION?? In your experience, is there any adjustment that can be made to make the swing a bit more manageable for a 79 year old?

    • @RichBuilt
      @RichBuilt  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree, it can be a little tough to rotate. I found the easiest way to do it is to unhook/unlatch the swivel just slightly and then grab the seat with both hands to rotate and not rotate it with the lever under the seat.

    Good job! I bought the Sportscraft ones. Driver side I can swivel with the door closed but it slightly rubs the armrest on the steering wheel. I also had to remove the lid and battery bracket. I used a 1/4 inch of flexible foam over the dual battery terminals. Yours look much easier to install since you don't have to take the wire connectors apart under the seat.What's next with the 80/20? Rich- to work out the factory torque you should first over torque the bolt to see what it starts to torque at- this is the factory torque

    • @RichBuilt
      @RichBuilt  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also that about that and just marking the bolt and seat rail. Figured someone would have it on hand. Still interesting how ford does not supply its upfitters with paper manuals.

      RichBuilt - Rich l work for Ford Engineering. If you download the Ford Transit Body and Equipment Mounting Manual from the web ( good general doc for complete vehicle )it suggests for seat mounts torques to contact a ford service dealer to Confirm this torque. If unsuccessful contact the Vehicle Converter Advisory Service at: VCAS@ford.com. FYI- the ranger seat bolt torque is 47 Nm but you will need to confirm for Transit- it May be slightly different

  • @jamesmicah99
    @jamesmicah99 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Rich, I tried to install the $400 scopema and found out I have to trim the plastic and it doesn't swivel with the door open. Looks like the one you got Amazing Auto looks like you don't have to open the door? There was no trimming either? Plug and play? I have the 10 way leather. Thanks bud. Keep up the good work.

    • @RichBuilt
      @RichBuilt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Micah - if you have the 10 way you have to trim the plastic trim. There are ways to make it a clean cut so do some digging for a couple others who have performed that modification. Mine are an offset swivel so you don't have to open the door. The trade off is the seat gains about 1/2" in height.
