I fitted the same full double and single swivels from RJ campersolutions for my Crafter and the vid was a huge help, the supplier sent really clear instruction and everything packaged well but you can’t beat seeing it done first hand, thanks again

But how comfy is it? I sat in one the pther day and my head was pressed against the ceiling and you cant recline. I think you would be way higher up than the seat you are facing on it too?
I fitted a same make swivel in my 15 plate custom, as you say, a simple job.... I soon got sick of the non adjustable bench though, and changed it for a fully adjustable Ford Galaxy seat, superb now.... T here were a few problems with seat bolts not matching up so had to make an adapter plate to fit to the top of the swivel first, then mount the new seat... the result is a very comfortable, adjustable seat, an of course as its a single rather than a double, you can get into the back without going outside, and its much easier to swivel.. nice video, enjoyed watching it..
What a great video, I have a mk8 transit l3 h3 which is new to me and bought to make into a camper van, being a cabinet maker I am going to build the van myself, I wanted to swivel the double seat but it looked very tight against the driver seat so was not sure it would work, so I take it it does work. I was put onto your channel by the london guy who makes many mishaps which are very funny, you helped the poor lad out doing his electrics and van walls and much more. this is the first video of yours I have watched but ill be viewing many more so thx for your time making them.

It’s far too high for our liking but our heads didn’t touch the ceiling … but neither of us are over 5’6 so any taller and your head will touch, hope this helps answer your question

Hi Zahid have you tried looking at kiravans.co.uk or van junkies as I believe they do double swivel seat bases for fords, but ours came from custom shop designs but I know theirs are on back order at the moment, hope this helps

It does raise it a fair bit, around 2 1/2 inches but I suppose it also depends on your height how much it effects your view, we are both small so doesn’t really effect us

Really in depth video Any pictures of the floor trim in the front after cutting out with the seat fitted ? And do you have the heights it raises the seat by. My van is the limited and has carpet installed just wondering what the finish would be like did you refit the seat plastics on the front and sides cheers

it jsut stays in its original place mate then tucked behind when the seats swivelled , its no biggie , but i dont like moving belts . but in this case there really is no need to be honest bud

Hi ya, we no longer have this van but it did add height obviously so if you are tall it could be an issue but we are both small so there was no issue and the seats where still comfortable 🤗

We have more coming mate but the weather has put us back a few weeks . The log book can’t be changed to camper any more cos it’s not a high top the dam dvla screwed us all over mate . The best you can hope for is van with windows . But head over to the dvla sight and down load the forms to send off to change the log book from a van . You never know what happens with them bud
that was something i was going to do , but man far to cold to be under that van right now , id have got the wire brush on them and some wd they would have flown out then i recon , but as you notice i do like to struggle lol

Loved the video. You are a funny man. I’d like to do this but I’m concerned about how much it will raise the height of the seat. I see in the comments below that is an issue. But my main question is, isn’t there a wire to be disconnected (every time you swivel the seat also) for the airbag and seatbelt sensor? I don’t see you addressing this in the video.
There is no cables or wires to disconnect mate and the and the seatbelt or air bag sensor dose not come in to it there is no disconnecting of any of it it’s just a case of putting the base on another base like in the video . We didn’t have to unplug any thing which was odd I know . The seats get raised about 1.5 inches in total and dose take a little gettin use to cos it feels like they have been lifted by about 6 ft . Hope this helps
@@UrbanVanlife Mine is a 2017 with heated seats and there are definitely wires for the heat, seatbelt and airbag sensor that would need to be disconnected and somehow extended or modified quick release.

I am a retired hgv mechanic when using a socket and ratchet support the ratchet head ,if socket slips off because of tight bolts torque bits OWW FFFF rapped ,cut ,bruised knuckles i know because i am a knob 🤬
We have many cuts and scrapes sir from doing very similar things and you would think we have learnt our lesson by now, but after the past couple days of building things once again we are covered in cuts and bruises 😂😂😂😂

all the trim goes back on just fine , but the only thing i dont like is that its raised the seat quite a lot

A bit late for you now but if you look underneath and locate the ends of the T55 Torx bolts then you can WD40 them first...

Fitted one myself in a mk6 . I was surprised how close to the roof it brings you is it the same in the custom? Even so i would not be without it.

I am a retired hgv mechanic when using a socket and ratchet support the ratchet head ,if socket slips off because of tight bolts torque bits OWW FFFF rapped ,cut ,bruised knuckles i know because i am a knob 🤬
We have many cuts and scrapes sir from doing very similar things and you would think we have learnt our lesson by now, but after the past couple days of building things once again we are covered in cuts and bruises 😂😂😂😂

Doesn't adding 6cm of height with the swivel base seat raise the entire double seat too much? So it risks being much higher than that of the driver, right?
