this is a bit badly explained since i was in a rush, but it covers the basics of it, it’s shortened by a lot since i’m trying to fit everything in 60 sec because that’s the max amount of time for a yt shorts, i’ll try and make an extended video soon though 💗
If you're a beginner artist or don't have a lot of experience when it comes to rendering. It's always a good idea to find long videos explaining how to shade and how lighting and rendering actually works. Following shorts or tiktoks as your fundamentals will most likely not work well unless you learn fast. Tutorials like these usually are beneficial towards artists who already know the basics and understand how the lighting is affecting the hair.
If u can’t find one search it up and look for something you like in the thumbnails. I remember YeeJ Chan (I think that was their name? did a video on a similar style but that might not be too beginner friendly idk
@@AlgebralienSixcopying other peoples style is what helps find your own, you study and study what other people have done right and than you incorporate what you like in your own art and also rendering tutorials are really hard to find so when someone explains it as simply as this person did than seeking out more tutorials from them isn’t really copying
One more tip to get the fun colours- you can do a colour study on what colours suit the best on your base colour- for example the artist is using a pastel purple for some bits to bring out the colour :3

tip (these are based off of what ive seen people do when rendering hair): usually for rendering pink hair, people mostly use and blue in similar tone to the pink. for blue hair u can also use pink btw for black and white hair, i think it depends on the lighting, but u can use any color for shading or highlights (for black, use a rlly dark blue or a rlly dark gray instead of black im not sure abt any other color, but experiment! art is literally an experiment of colors that make something beautiful, so just try and see what works!

FINALLY A SHADING TUT FIT FOR MY MESSY-AHH DRAWING STYLE 😭🙏🏽
Yesss I love this style of rendering hair and have been looking for a tut for a while

You are so severely underrated dawg, like, you have such skill 😭
It's look Messy but honestly that's so so.. AMAZINGG. KEEP IT UP ❤❤
Love your Flesh Box Swatches! Very organized!
As Bob Ross said, every highlight has a shadow, if there isn’t, the art will never come out to play.
the highlights are more part of an artstyle, like for example in most anime’s with the highlights in the hair, it doesn’t make sense
