This is my favorite daily Bible. Love the CSB translation, the single-column format, the font style and size, the clean layout of the text, the size of the Bible, etc. I wish they would make the exact Bible with better materials and binding and I’d buy one in a heartbeat!

Agreed, brother! This is actually the Bible that I use to pack around with me for outreach.

This was my first CSB bible ever. I bought this to try out the translation. I gotta say, I was really impressed with the quality of the bibke for the price I got it for (it was $7 for me at the time). The paper is pretty opaque, text nice and dark, leathertouch cover feels great in the hand. Also the gold guilding quality on mine completely surpasses some of my ESV thinlines (~$20). Which as says alot. Lol

Well excellent choice for your first CSB I would say! Price doesn’t get much better for what get with this Bible IMO, even at $7. That’s why I mentioned it again in my other video haha I feel like most people should definitely consider it when wanting to read the CSB.

OK bro, I watched this 3 times the past 3 days and had this in my cart and really prayed on it because I've always wanted a CSB but have too many Bibles. I decided to buy it before it's gone and I will donate a few of the ones I currently have. Lol. Awesome video and I had to sub. 👍

Haha well if you wanted a CSB, at least this is a choice that doesn’t break the bank! That’s awesome that you plan to donate some old your other Bibles though. And glad you enjoyed the video, and I appreciate your 3 views ✌🏼😂

@@TheBibleReviewer I watched it 3 times thinking there would be something telling me not to order it lol. But I love compact and personal sized Bibles and non traditional colors. When you showed the close ups and the dimensions I was pretty much sold. I've never been a fan of the expensive Bibles. The most I've spent on one was like $30 for a large print NET by Nelson. That was one that I wanted to use at home and this CSB will be a great everyday Bible. 😄

@@living_the_mac_and_cheese_life haha it really did impress me as well for this price point. Also yeah I’m finding that I too like a nice non-premium! For this channel I’ll try to have upper ends here and there but I feel value tends to help more people

Reminds me of the old Subway $5 foot long sandwich commercials. Holman could make their own jingle. “Five dollar, five dollar, five dollar CSB” If you don’t remember the commercial, just ignore this post/comment. 😂. Great review, thank you for sharing. 👌 Can’t beat that price. I pay more for a hamburger. 😄

I think I paid around $15 for this exact Bible edition. However, even at $15 it's a great deal, so at $5 it would be an absolute bargain! The CSB is a very solid translation too - accurate, clear, natural. For my tastes, the only thing missing in the CSB is it isn't as elegant sounding as, say, the versions in the KJV tradition like the ESV. But to be fair, elegance is probably a less important quality than accuracy, clarity, and naturalness. See what CS Lewis wrote in his introduction to JB Phillips' translation of the NT for example:
"There are several answers to such people. In the first place the kind of objection which they feel to a new translation is very like the objection which was once felt to any English translation at all. Dozens of sincerely pious people in the sixteenth century shuddered at the idea of turning the time-honoured Latin of the Vulgate into our common and (as they thought) ‘barbarous’ English. A sacred truth seemed to them to have lost its sanctity when it was stripped of the polysyllabic Latin, long heard at Mass and at Hours, and put into ‘language such as men do use’ - language steeped in all the commonplace associations of the nursery, the inn, the stable, and the street. The answer then was the same as the answer now. The only kind of sanctity which Scripture can lose (or, at least, New Testament Scripture) by being modernized is an accidental kind which it never had for its writers or its earliest readers. The New Testament in the original Greek is not a work of literary art: it is not written in a solemn, ecclesiastical language, it is written in the sort of Greek which was spoken over the eastern Mediterranean after Greek had become an international language and therefore lost its real beauty and subtlety. In it we see Greek used by people who have no real feeling for Greek words because Greek words are not the words they spoke when they were children. It is a sort of ‘basic’ Greek; a language without roots in the soil, a utilitarian, commercial and administrative language. Does this shock us? It ought not to, except as the Incarnation itself ought to shock us. The same divine humility which decreed that God should become a baby at a peasant-woman’s breast, and later an arrested field-preacher in the hands of the Roman police, decreed also that he should be preaching in a vulgar, prosaic and unliterary language. If you can stomach the one, you can stomach the other. The Incarnation is in that sense an irreverent doctrine: Christianity, in that sense, an incurably irreverent religion. When we expect that it should have come before the Word in all the beauty that we now feel in the Authorised Version we are as wide of the mark as the Jews were in expecting that the Messiah would come as a great earthly king. The real sanctity, the real beauty and sublimity of the New Testament (as of Christ’s life) are of a different sort: miles deeper or further in."

I wanted this, coming from the pocket nt version. But ended up with the compact value one (6pt about 4x6in)(2018 edition but with 2020 update, so i think it says 2024 is the 5th print). Looking at this vid and my pocket nt, idk for some reason the ghosting abd transparency is bad on all of them..
Im not sure if my value compact is odd, but its the most opaque i have. The paper is slightly yellow and noticeably different than my esv buffalo leather pocket for example. The other side of the pages text is like, distant, or 'far away' and blurry. Like bokeh effect. You can't make out anything on the other side, making this really easy on the eyes. Its line matched almost microscopically lol i think the 6pt actually helps opaque it.
    Anyway, thanks for the showcase

Have you ever tried to pan thru the pages at the top and bottom, while bending the Pages backwards or forward? I find usually that releases most of them from sticking together fairly easily..
