1. I prefer the slate gray version of this exact Holman Handcrafted personal size CSB, but the burgundy looks very nice too.
First thing I did is send it off to index it. Got it back last week!
I have this in the gray. The biggest negative is the text in the gutter.
My wife has this very one in the burgandy and she loves it. And I love that I scored it at half retail, haha. Retail is fair for what you get, but I'm thankful for the sale. Speaking of CSB, thank you for posting that web listing from Lifeway. At first i wondered if it was maybe last year's April Fool's post, haha, but it's legit. $13.97 or $15.97 for thumb-indexed. Great Bible; text block layout is very eye-comfy (wife Felisa's perfect word) with the cool L/R-justified center column references, notes in the footer. This Bible feels great in the hand! Now, Genuine Leather can be a number of things, including pig. This feels solid yet is quite flexible - which I believe rules out pig - so I'm guessing cowhide. Nice, whatever it is. That is now my wife's perfect EDC, usually in her purse or just tossed on the carseat, safe in its purple poly-canvas zippered cover. God is too good to this old little child of God. I enjoy your intelligent, detailed reviews, presented in your easy and informal, yet well-organized style. A real breath of fresh air, Sir. You have joined the 3 Tims. This is a great looking Bible. I'm using the NASB 2020 now, and I see Holman will make a Single Column Personal Size with that translation later this year. I hope they also make a NASB 2020 Verse By Verse Reference 😁
It saddens me that Holman cheapened out and has farmed yet another of their Bibles out to atheist China. I have their Holy Land Bible and bought it because I couldn't get it any other way. Fortunately, regular Bibles are still available from other nations.
