In the above video it was one of the times it started with “Scottie…” but he didn’t really need me to turn it up, it was plenty loud, he was trying to inspire the people in the balcony. At the top when he says, “…turn the guitar up! Didn’t I tell you never to touch a grown man’s stereo!” he was actually mad at the Monitor Engineer. 🤣 The Monitor Engineers almost never followed the feel of the music.
Probably the greatest bandleader of all time. They are not just talented and well-rehearsed, but Prince is in total control and knows just how to direct them.
That's what I tell people, knew how to play every instrument as good as the band but couldn't at the same time so he learned to lead. We were fortunate to have him for a while then God wanted him. Love this because he looked for real happy even though he was in such pain.

His ability of being in command is off the charts. He's the only guitar who, in addition to fill in that clear funky constant riff, controls a perfect homogeneous musical fabric that can be stopped and instrument selected at his command. You know, what he does with a real band is what Dj's of today do with a machine but not even at the tiniest fraction of perfection and awesomeness that Prince has here. You know he could continue with the music beat forever, only it's live and there's not one band that get used to this. Every band has scripted music, with a structure. Even in jazz the guys don't stop at command. And this has that jazzy school to that. It's funk, but the riff goes on, and every other musician gets his going. This is so precious to hear and watch. He's simple one of the greatest of all time.

On his last tour, cellphones weren't allowed to be out. Not during the earlier show anyway. I heard, from people that attended the later show (which I wish I'd attended) that he allowed people to have them out & some got to go on stage. I miss that man. Once again I am jammin to this INCREDIBLE song. Prince seems like he is having fun and thus in the zone. The band is so tight and the best players ever.
He owned everything he did. I'm a 28, music has literally always been my life, but I've never had a favorite artist until now. Digging deep into his music and learning about how much he worked gives me so much courage. I feel like he made so many people happy and his art lives on to do that. It's pure love, man, I feel challenged to be at my best.
This was the first concert i went to when moved to vegas..3rd time i was privileged to see him in person. After this concert, he called an after party at Studio 54, showed up an hour later with members from The Revolution & we rocked the house till 8Am the next day..Best time i ever had!
Thank God we have videos like this so Prince can still FUNK us from beyond the grave. It's the only thing that makes this life without him physically here bearable!!!!

Something that we don't talk enough about when we review all the exceptional skills of Prince... his incredible ability to organize his musicians, impromptu, during a show. Like one of the best directors, whatever movie, ballet, opera! this guy could get a good song together, and decorate it with all the "ad lib" performances of each member of his band... on the fly!!! Who else could ever do something like that? getting it out of the box? think! most of the competitor's shows are rehearsed choreography, say Michael Jackson, Madonna... with Prince, anything and everything could go; his musicians have confirmed that while they did have long rehearsing sessions, however, being on stage with the master, you had to keep on your toes, everything could change in less than the proverbial shake of the lamb's tail!!!! In those testing times, I just keep taking in all the magic from his one of a kind talent!!!

Awesome share. My buddy was kicked out of one of his last shows (in L.A.) for breaking out his mobile phone (but filming was forbidden at that secret show). The man the myth in his element. So lucky I was into him early on and got to see him several times - including a few after show shows. This is pure Prince right here. Big ups to Maceo!

Man is a genius.
He owned everything he did. I'm a 28, music has literally always been my life, but I've never had a favorite artist until now. Digging deep into his music and learning about how much he worked gives me so much courage. I feel like he made so many people happy and his art lives on to do that. It's pure love, man, I feel challenged to be at my best.

This was the first concert i went to when moved to vegas..3rd time i was privileged to see him in person. After this concert, he called an after party at Studio 54, showed up an hour later with members from The Revolution & we rocked the house till 8Am the next day..Best time i ever had!

The GOAT! Prince was so talented and always had so much fun with music. He always gave it up to the greats before him. His live performances were like nothing on earth. Consider yourself lucky if you ever saw him live! He never disappointed! A true musical virtuoso of his craft!

For all those believing that Lisa and Wendy had this great connection with Prince, Sheila E was a little bit of EVERY WHERE with Prince. She was one of the band members that was around longer than The Revolution. Her connection with him was on a completely different level.

I was 1 on the many fortunate that got to see this Powerhouse more then once in my lifetime. In fact, I just turned 50 & have ticket stubs dating back to 1982😍. his incredible ability to organize his musicians, impromptu, during a show.
Like one of the best directors, whatever movie, ballet, opera! this guy could get a good song together, and decorate it with all the "ad lib" performances of each member of his band... on the fly!!!
Who else could ever do something like that? getting it out of the box? think! most of the competitor's shows are rehearsed choreography, say Michael Jackson, Madonna... with Prince, anything and everything could go;
his musicians have confirmed that while they did have long rehearsing sessions, however, being on stage with the master, you had to keep on your toes, everything could change in less than the proverbial shake of the lamb's tail!!!!
In those testing times, I just keep taking in all the magic from his one of a kind talent!!!
