  • What do you think of the 2024 Ford Ranger XLT underneath? I have mixed feelings, but if you follow the channel much you know I'm not too enthused by a lot of these new designs.

    The vibration could be from the tires and that is usually the case
    Ive owned a 2019, and a 2020 XLT and now a2024 Raptor Ranger and I've never experienced that
    Honestly it could be from many things
    Overall the Ranger line up is a very well made truck
    It kinda reminds me of Apple fans vrs Android fans i guess its what a persons personal preference is

    Since they have gone to much thinner metal on the frame and the side panels the rust trough shows up a lot sooner. So we are paying a chunk of money more for these vehicles but your getting less truck the bodies look like hell with rust in several spots within three years after purchase. What a rip off !

    All ears to hear the upcoming reviews from owners, etc. Initially I think I like it the most of all the new mid size p/u’s. I’d shoot for a Raptor but the maybe wait until the dealers become well stocked.

      Yeah the demand is crazy right now. Hopefully they'll catch up and have some options for people to look at.

      It's going to be years before raptor supply catches up. They don't make them as fast as the regular rangers.

    I still haven't been able to find a new Ranger to drive but have driven two used Rangers. Both had a noticeable shimmy that feels like transmission or rear end wobble when taking off.
    The dealer said they all do it. Anybody else notice the shimmy?

    • @TheCarGuyOnline
      @TheCarGuyOnline  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's interesting. My friend has a 2020 or 21 Tremor with the eco 2.7l, seems fine/rides good with no shimmy that I can tell but it's a different package too. I think he's around 40-50k miles.

      @johnstrand2247 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TheCarGuyOnline The dealer told me that most people don't even notice it.
      Tell him to check. The shimmy is on initial take off and quickly disappears similar to a take off wobble on a CVT.

    This interior is way nicer than tacoma or frontier. Tacomas look old and disorganized. It looks like a mess.
    This one looks very clean, simple and elegant.
    10 inch screen standard well integrated and not glued on like a tablet.

      That screen is friggin huge....looked great the way it was integrated to dash I agree.

    So glad you put the Ford Ranger in your crosshairs! So far I’m happy with my Tremor as it seems to have been slightly beefed up in those thin spots on the base XLT

      I like the looks of your Tremor better than this new one. I actually think I enjoy your Tremor more than you do...with it being red and all.... ;)

    I don't like the thinner frame. I own a Nissan Frontier and I can tell you it's a lot thicker. But I do like this Ranger!

      Yeah I felt the same way just visually inspecting, but without some measurement tool I didn't want to speculate :)

      The new frontier still has the F-alpha frame. Mostly unchanged since 2005. I own a 2019 P4X and its a tank. The new gen actually weights a bit more. I don't think there is much aluminum on that truck outside the motor. Its really the only old school truck sold on the market now. Hydraulic steering and all.

      The thinner metal on the frame is strong as hell its made of ultra high strength steel

    • @HiPlains1
      @HiPlains1 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Njrebel68 I expect that not to be an issue. However up in the rust belt would it present issue over time? (rust) Not sure but i'd never live anywhere they salt roads and would never buy anything used that had a rust problem.

    The Frontier P4X comes with metal skid plates, but I guess that's a little higher trim, but still about the same price.

      @TheCarGuyOnline  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah I really like the frontier, and it's been good for the owners so far. I think it's probably the most reliable mid-sized right now.

    • @TheCarGuyOnline
      @TheCarGuyOnline  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah but they still do steel frames which is where rust problems usually occur.

    • @spyder000069
      @spyder000069 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@TheCarGuyOnline In the midwest the frames hold up with the rust but the bodies can have rust through after the first 10 years. Usually hitting rear fender lips first where the road salt collects and also the bottom of the tailgate. That was the nice thing about the f series trucks is that by going to aluminum they would actually last longer here in the rust belt. Its a shame they didn't follow that same strategy with the ranger. If you look at curb weight the ranger is pretty porky.

      Sounded like the truck was already reserved for a customer. If that was the case then understandable. If I have a deposit on a vehicle I don't want people kicking the tires and going through it. You paid to be the first one to fart in it.

      Yeah I sorta understand if it was actually sold to a customer. They told me they were waiting for the customer to pickup, so in that case I understand. Could be they just saw me with the camera and wanted to boot me :).
