    Great vid! Definitely going to help with my upcoming install. Mind sharing the size of the nut on top of the stock front shocks? Much appreciated!

    I’m considering the same set up!! I have a 2018 Recon! How are you liking the MetalCloak paired with Falcons now?

      Loftis Party of Six - weROAM I’ve taken my Jeep off road a few dozen times since all this was installed and it’s performed so well. If I could do it all over again I wouldn’t change a thing!

      Jeremy McLerran and did you go with 2.5 or 3.5 Game Changer lift?

    • @1111Overland
      @1111Overland  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      bryan wiccedone it’s actually really, really easy. The top nut is the hardest part. If you have a ratcheting end wrench it makes it WAY easier.

      @@1111Overland I dont currently... may have to make a purchase.... wait... I might have something... I have a odd socket set with open socket thst the ratchet is on the outside... herm...

      Think something like this would work?

    • @1111Overland
      @1111Overland  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      bryan wiccedone Maybe... I can’t tell if you have to have those sockets on there to make it work... but if that’s true I don’t think you’ll be able to get it in there. An open end wrench is really the only thing that works, unless you have ratcheting ones, which are the same thickness as a standard wrench.

    • @solveetcoagula1891
      @solveetcoagula1891 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@1111Overland yeah, the ratchet goes on the outside of the socket instead of on the very end. So the socket itself is open all the way through and the wrench being on the side makes the whole assembly shorter than a regular ratchet and socket set

      @1111Overland  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Corrie Baker that should definitely be part of the video. Great idea. Do you want the specific sizes of each socket and drill bit?

    • @cljb1074
      @cljb1074 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jeremy. Yes, that would help thank you. The thing is, I have a complete teraflex kit including these shocks. What I don't have is all the necessary tools for the install.

    • @1111Overland
      @1111Overland  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly I don’t know that I can remember everything, but here’s the suggested list:
      -Socket set. Make sure you have size 16, 17, 18, and 19 in there, you’ll use them multiple times.
      -Breaker Bar. Good to get the hard bolts off
      -WD-40 or similar. For loosening sticky bolts and spraying on metal as you drill
      -Rubber mallet (optional) Helps for pounding stuck bolts
      -Drill and bits. Can’t remember the size bits, but you’ll need a small one to drill a pilot hole, and a larger one for the hole itself.
      I think that’s the majority of it. Good luck!

    Great vid! My 3.3s came with spring retainers. Did you not put them in? Any thoughts on using or not using them? I'm running a 3" Teraflex lift. Thx!

      D J I know my Recon didn’t have them to start. I don’t think I used them because there weren’t already there. Maybe I should have! It was a BEAST to get them perfectly into place...

    I just found your channel man and i'm going with the same build as you... how are those shocks working out for you with the metalcloak game changer kit ? The metalcloak has a relocation braket for the rear shocks right ? so does the metalcloak lift kit still work properly without that braket ?

    • @1111Overland
      @1111Overland  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Welcome! Thanks for watching. I LOVE the falcons!! Performance has been superb. I love the versatility. Almost anytime I go off road I’m switching them to “three“ and The extra stiffness really helps reduce the hard bumps when coming off of ledges. If I know I’m going to be running fast on a trail, switching them to “one” really smooths things out. I installed them AFTER doing the Metalcloak game changer lift, so I had to remove that Metalcloak stock relocation bracket In the rear and attach the falcons to the stock shock mount. The Metalcloak rear track bar was totally unaffected.

      @@1111Overland That's great to know, thank you for the info ! Ill be installing the metalcloak lift kit and the shocks in a few weeks so ill toss away that relocation braket since I also bought the rear shocks skid plate!

    What kind of lift you have?

    • @1111Overland
      @1111Overland  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      elchile007 great question! I have the Metalcloak dual rate lift. It’s about 3.5” of lift and includes new coils, front upper control arms, and new track bars. I chose metal cloak for many reasons, the first of which is quality both on road and off, but I also like the fact that I could do the less expensive Lyft components and get the right amount of left and then add the control arms and other pieces without having to replace the “dual rate kit” components I’ve already put on. Thanks for watching!

    • @elchile007
      @elchile007 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the quick response. You just made my day. I been looking at metal clock Game-Changer 3.5 with no shocks. I wanted to see if I could install the same shocks to the metal clock, you just answer my question. What do you think about the shocks? Do you recommend then. Thanks again and you have a new subscriber.

      On the road they’ve been great, but off road they are really, really amazing. I just spent all day yesterday in Moab on the trail “Fins and Things” (just posted a video) and parts of the trail that used to “shake us up” felt easy!! I have several buddies with Falcons and we all swear by them. The adjustability is amazing. I waited for a Northridge 4x4 sale and was able to get about 20% off too.

    How do you like the 3.3 shocks with the metal cloak lift?

    • @1111Overland
      @1111Overland  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      LOVE the combo. I never had six pack shocks for comparison, but I’ve been really, really happy with the Falcons. Almost all my buddies run them, several with Metalcloak lifts, not a single complaint in the group!
