Shotokan, Wing Chun, Tiger, Boxing, Drunken Fist and Snake. I've trained in all. If you happen to be in a fight the literal meaning of MMA is applied. The more you know, the better you can adjust to different situations.
I did wing chun and since 5 years I practice boxing: Forget wing chun in a street fight. Wing chun only works properly against another wing chun fighter. In a real situation you dont have enough time to react with the proper wing chun "answer". The punches also dont have the range and power like a boxing punch. When you look on youtube for real wing chun fights against boxers mma fighters etc you always see them losing. It could be effective when you combine some of the techniques with other styles, but in most cases you will be surprised when you get into a real fight.
training in wing chun now (5 months in), i can agree, works way better in a tight space me and my sparring buddy where in the driveway inbetween two cars and he was fucking around and tried to hit me and i mirrored (he was in line using his left) so i tan saled (i need to ask my trainer how thats spelled lol) with my right and stopped my left punch right before him, he almost elbowed but couldnt cuz of the car boxing is best for an open space, wing chun is amazing in tight spaces, just depends where you are i guess
Well, of course talking online is easy, but I'll say that I worked at nightclubs for 10 years and applied wing chun keys and chi projections more than 10 times. after derivatives of shaolin and wing chun and yes it works but sometimes there is no difference in the fight it can seem like karate kick boxing and judo applications ok after you don't know what martial art is kung fu it is in all martial arts if they take it in the horns it is the pressure in ring and pork don't fight in real life I grew up in the ghetto where I had to fend for myself the problem on the street and in life is fear don't be afraid it infects your life
And I say more, I can do any martial art for 10 years if what I had to train in the last month was intense boxing, what will come out today in a fight or tomorrow will be the last things you trained in, in this case it would be boxing and so on, what stays and what you absorb
@FreestyleWingChun this video suggests it has the proof. We're asking "where in the video is the proof?" An answer of "somewhere not in the video" is kinda missing the point.
Not only clever moves but also aggressive moves and work on strengths

Wing chun works better than boxing in a small space.
