Great to see a vid about 3d printing that encourages you to design and learn a new skill, rather than print dragons and snakes.
It's probably one of the best th I ngs about the points system is that encourages people to learn to model which helps everyone.
What do you have against dragons? My buddy just got back from vacation with his girlfriend that was entirely paid for with dragons AND he bought 2 more A1 minis. All from one day of selling. lol Printing like a madman now for selling this weekend. 🤷🏻♂️
Can confim. I cross-loaded most of my models from Printables, wasn't really trying to get anything, but Makerworld feels a bit Wild-West right now. My free A1 Mini just showed up, took 9 gift cards. $120 spool of PATH-CF and three spools of PLA took 5 more cards. Same-ish models on Printables got some free spools(still have to pay shipping from Czech Republic) but only 1/4 the way to a free printer.
Eyyyy a Czech 3d printing brother🇨🇿
Yesterday I redeemed points that gave me 6 codes, I ordered another AMS for half the price =)
Nice, glad that others are benefitting from the points program
Thats awesome!!!
seems fun, sucks though that i can just work a day at my day job and make the same amount :( good problem to have though, i suppose!
The thing is that you have to have 3d printer in order to print your models that you want to post to makerworld so that people looking at your model can know what the final product looks like. Also people want a readymade 3d model to print so also have to upload the profile setting for the 3d model which you can only get if you 3d print your models in the first place.
Yes having access to a 3D printer does help. More and more schools/libraries/friends are getting them so it's easier and easier to get access to test your models.
@@3DPrintStuff but in my country (pakistan) its a different story
I don’t have a 3d printer currently (issue with previous one waiting on replacement) and I’m still able to make designs and see how they would print, no printer necessary, if you want to get started just make something like a pumpkin on tinkercad and as you advance switch to a more complex software for more accurate models
@@saile6864 i have posted 4 models but still not prints
@@saile6864 i have posted 4 models on makerworld but still no downloads
Thanks dude appreciated
No problem 👍
Why is fusion 360 so expensive?
@@KronicDaydreamZ because it is competing with SolidWorks and in comparison fusion 360 is quite affordable. For a hobbyist it’s expensive but for anyone making their living using 3D modelling it’s not a huge expense. The free version of fusion is still a great option and for lots of hobbyists will cover 95% of what you want to do.
Great video. New subscriber to your channel.
Thanks for the sub! Welcome to the channel
What can I do if I don't have a 3d printer for start? I try make a good model but it don't get sale I think because I can't make a rl photo of it
You could share your model on the 3d printing subreddits and ask someone to print it and take some pictures. It will be difficult to get traction and to get better at designing things if you can't print your own models. You could also use a print on demand service but that will quickly add up to the cost of an entry level printer like the A1 mini.
Look for maker spaces in your area. Large libraries and universities typically have printers available to use for relatively cheap
Yoo do u know any good 3d printing software to design and make the 3d model. If so please let me know.
The free version of fusion 360 for designing functional parts. Anything that you would measure in real life and then input those measurements into the design software would be made in fusion.
Blender is completely free and incredibly powerful for mesh/free form modelling. For modelling organic shapes, sculpting animals or humans, that kind of stuff.
Hope that gives you somewhere to start
@@3DPrintStuff Thanks!
Id be happy just to get the one i ordered from them
Fair enough, when did you order it?
Jan 2nd...It was supposed to ship by the 16th but it has not as of now. Patiently waiting!@@3DPrintStuff
I don’t know how to use these programs , I tried one just had spinning models in the air it was not simple for me
Definitely takes some practice to get used to.
@@3DPrintStuff sure does
I'm hoping I can get to a point where I can get the p1s for like 2/3 or half the price. That's gonna take a while tho
Definitely possible, just takes one model doing really really well or a bunch of models doing "ok" to get you there.
@@3DPrintStuff the problem for me rn is getting ideas that could do well and also just making them gets hard sometimes
My problem is I cant think of Any ideas
Take a look around the house at things you use everyday and try to model them. My most popular models are pretty basic household items. Or jump on chatGPT and ask for some 3d printing project ideas or 3d modelling ideas.
I feel like the points system is gonna get nerfed soon. It’s so good😂
It already has been nerfed :(
@@3DPrintStuff dang, hey I’ll still take it over nothing though
@@yobtnirp3D Yeah for sure. It's still worth posting models. Just not nearly as beneficial as it was a couple months ago.
This is actually the method. made £70 in 2 weeks from 3 models that each took me an hour
Yeah it's pretty wild how some low effort models can earn some real cash on makerworld.
What models did you use?
How much did you make so far?
got £180 in total now, saving up for an AMS to put on my p1p@@jenyaftw
@@jenyaftw Not sure if you're asking me or the original comment but I've made just shy of $450 CAD so far.
Any idea if having a printer profile on the listings effects the success of the model?
Having print profiles definitely improves your chances of success. You want to introduce the least amount of friction to the end user when posting your models. So having a print profile makes their lives easier and gets you more downloads.
@3DPrintStuff I currently don't have a bambu printer, (just a anet a8 plus), should I just slice the gcode in bambu studio and upload it without having any way of testing it?
@@jkaman280 oh... you can do this but there is a check box that asks you if you have successfully printed the print profile... In your case you can just post the model and in the description ask that people upload a print profile for you that they have tested on a bambu printer. People get rewarded for uploading print profiles also so it will benefit others to add print profiles to your designs.
@@3DPrintStuff oh, awesome, thank you!
good idea bring more and more people lol .. already hard enough to make some points good luck to you all..
You're welcome, glad it helped.
It doesnt 😂😅 lol
What do you use to design models?
I use fusion 360. Here’s a video of how I designed my top 3 models: th-cam.com/video/bhWz45zxxeI/w-d-xo.html
Can you help me get more downloads on maker world I currently use other peoples printers since I don’t have my own I’m trying to get enough gift cards for a p1p my maker world user is shrek and I have four uploads thank you so much
Make video, video do good, free shit. I got this.
Yessir, you got this.
