thank you this really helped out. by orientating the upper burr with marking on top, and tighten the lock ring all the way then comes back a little really changed the grind size. I just wish that this info were available on the user manual, instead of me digging on the internet for hours, and thinking this grinder doesn't work
Great tips. Another thing that seems to help me is not to "hot start" it. I always felt like it was better for the motor if I spooled it up and then dumped beans in, but I seem to get some inconsistency that way. It actually seems to grind much more evenly if I add beans and THEN turn it on.

Nice job on going over possible issue points. Great service from you guys.

Thank you for taking the time to make this video and explain everything a clearly and patiently as you did.
Really enjoying my Gen 2. Thanks guys!
The "hot surface" stickers on brew heads are probably made for the same kind of people. Which I didn't knew really existed, until now.
I took off the burrs before checking the factory mark. Is it usually placed in the “top” position as you showed? Thanks!
Between 6 and 9 for my Flair 58plus. YMMV. My zero / just above burr touch is about -2. YMMV.
Hi, when I cleaned my df64 gen 2 machine the default zero setting has been moved up 5 notches. How can i reset it to zero setting?
It is possible you did not put the burr carrier back in the same slots as before? This can make the zero point move a bit.
@ hi, thank you for your response. I will check that.
