I actually really like the new Diamante DMC metallics. They are A LOT more like Kreinik, but I find they are a little bit easier to work with because they are softer...not as stiff...as Kreinik can be. I agree. OG DMC Metallics can go away. forever. and ever. And I'm very jealous of your blue. Now I kinda want to go to my local needlework shop and see if they have any. :)
Do it! Let me know if you find some. I need to get some diamanté and try it out. I just ordered the DMC light effects thread so I will have a part two soon.
I don't know what Dimensions kits use, but I did a kit once of butterflies that used a metallic thread that was more like a plastic mylar, and it was TERRIBLE! It kept stretching, fraying and breaking so bad, I ran out of it before I could finish my project! Since then, I have not worked with metallic thread.
That sounds terrible. Really consider giving Kreinik a try. No stretching for sure. A little fraying like I mentioned, but if you keep the tail short it’s really not terrible.
Very interesting video. Thank you for sharing. Take care
I will probably be having a follow up bc I found another brand I want to try.
