    -
Writer and journalist Aatish Taseer returns to India, his mother country, to explore the changes in this deeply religious yet secular nation.
He takes an in-depth look at tensions between Hindus and Muslims, and how the hardline government of the country's prime minister, Narendra Modi, has fueled anger between Indians of different faiths.
Cows are a sensitive topic in India - holy to Hindus and a commodity to Muslims. Taseer meets the families of cow traders and herders who have become targets of Hindu nationalist anger.
Aatish also meets Hindus who believe Muslim men are forcing Hindu women to convert to Islam as some form of "Love Jihad" - and discovers the dangerous lengths they are prepared to go to stop Hindu women marrying Muslim men.
He also examines the country's history of religious rule, stretching back to the Mughal Empire and beyond. He searches for answers as to why India finds itself in this position today, and what lies ahead for this religiously diverse nation founded on secular principles.

Even that is much more recent.
Whole world had Same Gods and Goddesses with some different interpretations.
Ramayana took place 7100 years ago..
And even hundreds of centuries before that Dharmic Vedic Sanskrit Civilization was there.. Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma were worshipped even centuries before that.. and Rama was revered as Avatar of Vishnu.
This is story of whole world. Whole world was part of this Civilization. But many regions interpreted it differently.. for example entire so called Greek Civilization has same gods but they interpreted it differently. Arab regions had many Devi temples Al-Lat, Al-Uzza, Al-uanat etc.. Almost all mosque were built by Demolishing Dharmic temples. There were shivalingas around the world. Entire world was part of Dharmic Cultural Civilization. Entire world had Temples everywhere.
Dharmic Cultural Civilization is Oldest on the Planet. Pagans is widely used term to describe them in European regions. Egypt had Pagan temples. Go learn About Egyptian so called civilization.. its Copy-paste of our gods, goddesses and Also there is sacred Cow Coins & carvings. Whole world was what westerners call Pagan before Judaism consolidated from being thought to scripted book of commandments that prohibited Polytheism, called for Destruction of pagan temples(today's Jerusalem area).
Religion is extremely new concept. It's Non-believers vs Believers. More like war strategy.
Dharma means eternal law. It's Nature. Not established by anyone. Only learnt and experienced by many. We worship Feminine, nature, animals, water , trees.. it about entire humanity. even Atheists are considered seekers.
Its for entire humanity.. Yoga , LifeSciences, ayurvedic, nature, astrology, universe, Yogic capabilities, Life energies, Karma, Yugas concept, time being circular, Atma, universal soul, consciousness...
Dharmic Cultural Civilization is Oldest Civilization on the planet.

Regarding Mughal rule at 37:22- Mughal effectively ruled India for 150 years, from 1556 second battle of Panipat to 1707 death of Aurangzeb. After Aurangzebs death Mughal dynasty was in name only, with rise of Martha's and others. What is 150 years in a history of art least 4000 years. Of course, achievements during Mughal rule should be mentioned, but look at it in context. What about Vijayanagara empire which lasted at least 300 years. How much of that is in the History books. This fellow talks of Taj Mahal. Has he visited temples of Southern India? In fact, reason such glorious temples are not there now in norther. India is obvious.

    • @prajithp2916
      @prajithp2916 3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

There is no convertion in Hinduism. You just practice Hinduism. I'm from South India. Here there is not much caste system as it is irrelevant in the modern society. In a IT company or a manufacturing company your caste and religion is irrelevant.
And in Hinduism you can be polytheistic, monotheistic, animistic or even atheist.
Most of the conflict comes from food habits and not necessarily religion

During the fight for independence, all communities in India were in unity. Close to the final stage corrosion of unity was triggered by stubborn Jeena who insisted on separate Muslim states. This has led to the division of communities into two major groups vs Hindu and Muslim. Thus, the source is of the problem is Jeena and Jeena only. It's time all the people in that region should understand the source.

Actually alot of different solutions were presented but the british only supported the 2 worst solutions. Gandhi Never supported a partion. Most monarchies wanted their own country, Places like Punjab and Bengal wanted their own country. They were only allowed to choose between india and Pakistan. Most people chose India as Nehru promoted a secular country where minorities would be protected, Jinna argued that minorities would never be protected. Since then mostly jinna was proven wrong, but the way BJP is changing India, Jinna is being proven right.

Exactly! Bharat has always been Sanatan Bhumi (modern Hindu) and it is going to be officially Hindu nation.
Afterall Bharat has a long history more than 10,000 years of our ancestors. When it comes to Christian or Islamic country we don't poke our nose into their matter but Christianity and lslam people are always ready to poke into our Hindu nations matter. Though also we respect Islam and Christianity and Jews and other faith too because we are Hindus and our Sanatan Dharm doesn't teaches us to disrespect anyone's faith.
But at the same time we(our ancestors) who have faced cruelty by christanity and islam cannot tolerate the same things in present time. Bharat had always been ahead in the study in every field. Mughals and Britishers wasted 1000 years of our ancestors, we could have made immense progress till now.
To be honest, no one can ignore the wild growing love jihad, cow slaughter, slipper cells that caused 26/11 and other terrorist attacks in india., demolished temples(Islamic invaders tried to distroy our religious beliefs) and their present generation still accepting those invaders as their forefathers, etc things.
We are and and always be proud of our ancestors and their work in different fields of study.

The fact remains it is a permanent resident visa - Nothing more. Individual countries may see the OCI as dual citizenship, which is a different matter. Some nations see any PR visa in this light in a blanket fashion. Although, the Indian government will never recognize an OCI holder as an Indian national, much like how a green card holder is not an American, and she never did, even if one day it had planned to allow for dual citizenship. If so, then a whole new processes for re- naturalization would have had to begin. From my knowledge of the OCI, it has been conferred to even those of Indian descent from the very beginning, even if one was not an ex-Indian and was a national of a country that did not permit dual citizenship. Even then, Taseer’s event is a relatively recent one, pointing it to be nothing more than a PR visa.

There are many non-Hindus who have ancestors in India.

@@TheBengalDragon what's so illogical in that statement..... according to u there are many non Hindus in India who have their ancestors....pl be specific on that, quote examples. Don't stop at a certain point of time in history, which obviously suits your narrative.

@@prashantandu from beginning to end the sentence has no logic. Waking up, get back, when these two parts of the statement is illogical, the entire statement makes no sense because it is based around the Hindu waking up and getting back anything.
To get something back, you should have lost it completely. There’s nothing restricting the Hindu from entering India.
And some people coming from a different land over 1000 years ago, almost 1500 years ago does not count. This is because people move around all the time and settle down in different places all the time. There is no land on earth that is destined to be eternally yours just because some people thousands of years ago used to occupy it but then did not occupy it for thousands of years
