The Enduring Rise Of Narendra Modi In India | Insight | Full Episode

  • The Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and his right-wing Bharatiya Janata party or BJP scored another historic victory in the recent state elections in India's most populous state of Uttar Pradesh.
The party was also returned to power in three other states, namely Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur in a pandemic hit economy and widespread unemployment. The emphatic victory also means that the party has now cemented its grip on national politics, decimating its once closest rival, the Congress which is now facing an existential theat.
What really led to BJP’s thumping victory at the election at the time when the economy is in shambles and millions of people have lost their jobs? And with the rising Hindu nationalism in the country, will Modi be able to unite an increasingly polarised nation?

What foreign media and some parties in India fail to understand is how an average Indian thinks. As a population we have faced many challenges and still thrive. Look at Indians in USA , western or middle east countries. We are successful wherever we go given proper opportunities . We have been put down by handouts by political parties all these while, what we expect is a secure and honest environment for us to become successful.

Isn't it something to be ashamed of that Indians don't get opportunities in their own country rather then taking credit from other nations that are capable enough to provide employment to not just their own people, but also immigrants from countries which fail to do so. And just to bust your bubble, "Indians aren't thriving", Indians in general are probably the poorest people on earth right after Africa.

@Ishaan Jain Yup , media always talk when it is not good for example they were telling exports are at all time low , but now under BJP now when the EXPORTS are at a all time high over 410 billion dollars media never talks about it. And when MODI JI banned couple of currency notes , foreign media said that India was a cash based economy but now when India has surpassed usa and China in online transactions , the media does not talk about it. And even recently RRTS rail also happened , and again forign media does not talk about it . It's like they keep saying BJP IS Hindu party and so on , but when Yogi Ji told to off the loudspeakers on temples , he told ot for mosques and Hindu temples also . I personally though am very happy with what BJP is doing , where I live in Karnataka , especially the central business district of Bangalore or downtown of Bangalore is so well developed , the infrastructure is so there and there are even cycle lanes in many areas in Bangalore which is very rare in India , and according to my knowledge this project of developing international standard roads in the downtown was laid by our former BJP chief Minister of Karnataka .Jai Hind.

This entire video’s issue can be explained in a single story. That congress representative talked about “rising cylinder (cooking gas) prices”. What people should realise is that before Modi also the prices used to increase but the excess money went to corrupt politicians and their cronies in the government. After Modi encouraged people to give up gas subsidy.. yes the prices increased… but people also saw visible changes in which villages where women were forced to cook using firewood (and developed a ton of medical complications cause smoke in a dingy room is not good for anyone) got the extra cylinders that were gotten using the excess money. Yes there is inflation but there are some villages in UP which are getting proper roads only now. Another thing that the BJP has done is unite the castes under the broad Hindu banner. Earlier caste politics was rampant especially in places like UP, Bihar. Now it’s come down at least to an extent. Heck, the BJP even won majority/significant number of seats in Muslim dominated districts.. as long as a party shows physical infrastructural development, people will vote for it despite other issues

Modi has been in power for some time. He has remained honest. Other leaders would be busy enriching themselves and their families. He seems to be God's gift to India. I think one big issue I see is that most of young generation studying hard for these government jobs get well versed in history , polity and other subjects but these things are of no use outside a small sphere of govt jobs.Millions of people apply for some hundred govt jobs and most of don't get jobs even after reappearing for decades. And once their age goes beyond what is applicable for most jobs they find that they have formed a repository of reduntant information and no particular skills. Thus they have to go as mentioned in video to unskilled jobs like setting shop etc.Though some may become teacher but who would prefer being taught from one who themselves couldn't make up? Most have to go back to agriculture but now that the land would most probably partitioned among siblings they have even less.Private sector is option but that too needs some skills and a younger staff would be preferred.Even though private jobs are made available a lot of mentality of not working under boss and hustle culture doesn't help make these job attractive.I believe government must make compulsory to have one employable skill and job before appearing for govt job to ensure that young people atleast don't lose a major of their best time to nothing.

Our economy recovery is talk of today's world, according to IMF, despite pandemic we managed to keep extreme poverty on 1% , $3.1 trillion economy is expected by some media reports, all time high export happened in this fiscal year but India faced worst pandemic 😂😂.
And not forget vaccination drive, at best phase, half of our janta is fully vaccinated plus there's no protest happened against vaccine in India like West, what's the use of such development and literacy rate when their citizens hesitate from taking vaccine even when they know it's the only solution for pandemic.

I don't know if the unemployment issue is real or not. I'm a final year student from not the Tier 1 or Tier 2 cities but a small town. And I've a job offer in private sector, and it was the first Job Interview which lead to my first job offer. And I'm just another average guy. Every other day I see news about a lot of Job positions in the Private sector, in fact there were so many Job openings that eventually I stopped even applying for one because I already have a Job offer.
The problem with these people are they want the luxury of Government jobs where they don't have to work much and their job is secured. No matter how much underperformer you're, you'll get the salary on time. But they don't even want the competition, if someone is preparing for a government job for over 10 years and still couldn't get through it. Then he/she must blame themselves and not start rioting.
For god's sake do other work. You're not made for it.

about congress or INC , its a dead party ..recently in UP they got only 2 seats out of 403 while bjp alone got 255 (273 in alliance ) seats so thats that ....people are fed up of divisive and appeasement politics of congress and to be honest a big chunk of india voters hate the stupidity of rahul vinci ...about half the time he is partying in thailand or italy and when his party loses he cries ...no regional party can challenge bjp actually if you look at number their space is shrinking the regional politics they used to do is not popular anymore.

Most European or Western countries have population less than 10 percent as compared to that of India . So they can never understand problems faced by a large country like India
