This video just saved me after an hour of crying and hopelessly trying to make the key fob work even though i just changed the battery. Thank you so much!!
Thank you so much for your user friendly video that helps us older folks that are by no means tech savvy! You did indeed save me money and every dollar counts these days. I was honestly concerned I wouldn't be able to do this on my own, but your video made it so simple for me to understand how to take the remote apart to change the battery. And that specific battery thankfully "CR2032" is a very common household battery, so I already had several unopened batteries of that size. Thank you again!
Well done and thanks a BUNCH. I'm one of the "'ol guys" who loved windows xp. That's right, I'm older than dirt so I don't do tech anymore. Good on ya....
This dude just saved my fucking life with the key fob on the button i just washed my key fob by accident and didnt know what to do. Thank you so much!!!!
Just make sure you don't pop out the key release button when taking it apart! That spring is a real pain to find when it flies across the room. Or so I've heard...
@@CarGuy11 yep, already did. You've shown me so many things that, I either didn't know my Trailhawk had or I didn't know if was capable of. 😊 I appreciate that!
This happened to me when I was out and about in my Jeep and Batteries Plus was right round the corner and they changed it for 10 bucks. That's the way it goes, sometimes! :-)
very helpful but I made the mistake of sliding the circuit board out and now buttons don't work .... I may have broken the contact point? I have changed battery on this before and it worked fine based on your video. Darn I guess I have to go to the dealer to see what's what. I know they cost about $400. Yikes. I have another. but like to have 2. It did work to start up ignition but would not open the door either pressing the pad nor just the proximity of it. Darn darn darn. Thanx for your good instruct though.
Also was wondering if you knew why there is a key icon on the flip cover for the usb charger port, I thought that might also be a place to start up with the key fob???
@@LS-zx5dc same here did you ever resolve it and if so can you share? I tried several different batteries, it was acting squirrel beforehand though and once I changed the batteries no buttons work, but it will start up.
Did anyone have a problem with the key falling out once it was put back together? the latch fell out & I thought I put it back in right. Is there some trick to it?
It would remote start this morning, but once I get in and try to press the start button I can’t get anywhere. Decided to try again using this method and still nothing. Now I am getting a message that says, “remote start deactivated, press start button to start car” or something like that and I still can’t get it.
Thanks did not know that, My check engine light came on at the same time as battery low, I guess that was a coincident? some stupid people will click thumbs down on any thing: WHY
Thanks to the idiots at Jeep if you use the actual key it comes with to open the door it panics and won’t stop for a hot minute. POS vehicles, but great tip! Thank you

Hmm not sure if it doesn’t have keyless access since it’s a different key. Check your manual.

Does it have to be reprogramed after changing the battery - reason I ask is my hands free door handles wont activate now but the car starts up fine?
Hmm no it shouldn’t need programmed.
