Awesome! Worked perfectly on two completely dead key fobs. The dealer told me the batteries couldn’t be replaced and wanted to charge me $500 to replace both fobs. Two batteries were $9. Thanks for saving me hundreds of dollars.
Your video instructions were spot on. Don't know how much I saved by being able to do it myself, but probably more than a few bugs given the cost of service these days. Thanks much!
Thank your for the help! Until watching this video, I didn’t know the next step after removing the key. I was afraid to go further because of fear of breaking the fob. TH-cam saves the day AGAIN! 😅😊
Greetings John. Interesting to see you you replace the battery in your key FOB. I have never had to do that. I enjoyed to the end. Thank you my friend.

Thanks! Your video helped me too. I wish there was some kind of release on it so we don’t have to pry it open and put little dings in the plastic each time 😏

A+ thanks! I accidentally push the PANIC button somehow every so often, and I live in the city and got keyed by someone because of this. So while I was in there I peeled off the PANIC button from the green board. PANIC button is useless.
hello sir thx for you'r video. I changed the battery on my 2 remote controls (cherokee 2021) after several hours of non-operation, like 1 night my jeep does not recognize any of my keys, however after use everything works correctly but the more hours pass the distance at which the 2 remote controls operation is shortened until they no longer work. do you have an idea ?
@@JohnCRV I changed the batteries in the 2 remote controls twice and then replaced the original ones and still the same problem, to be sure to buy the right model and put it back on the right side I took a picture before touching anything. What made me change the batteries was that this problem was starting... but before the morning my jeep recognized my keys. The problem appeared on both remote controls simultaneously. I thought it could be the jeep's "receiver" that was faulty.. p.s. thank you for your quick response
John will the key FOB need to be reprogramed if you wait to long to replace battery, When I did mine some time back it does not work right, hit or miss, I guess possible the battery was weak since I had it in my drawer, I use them all the time for computer mother boards and scopes. Will try a new one and see if I still have the problem and if by chance it does need to be re programed do you know how to do it or is it a factory job? Thanks and great video.
I have that issue and am afraid of changing battery in second fob that says low battery now. First fob said low battery and I changed it but it doesn't recognize it anymore. Now second fob saying low battery. Scared. :/
@@brendacantrell3403 sorry to hear that. You may need a new one. Hate to tell you to go to a dealer but maybe you have a shop you can go to let them check it out?

WOW! It’s a good thing you did your research. Glad it helped.
Wow, that dealer was totally dishonest. I would think reporting them to a state or federal consumer protection agency would be appropriate.
That is ridiculous I would talk to the manager of the dealership and make a complaint
Thanks. Big help. A few extra steps in this Jeep key fob compared to our other cars.
Glad it helped

The screwdriver shouldn't be used all around the edges only at the one slot and shouldn't leave heavy scratches.
Watched 2 times and then replace the battery. Process from video works great.. How long to these batteries last?
Thanks for the feedback.
They last a long time depending how much its used of course. This one lasted almost 4 years.

They need to be CR2032 not plain 2032. I hope that's what it is.

1 year and 24 thousand people have watched this, changed their batteries, but only 210 showed it the appreciation of a like. Lame.
It shows the type of society we are these days. Thank you for the the feedback.
