    The fast that the underground metro tunnel system is so well interconnected is absolutely brilliant.

    That's something you don't see or hear everyday, an underground railway tour. Thanks for the video.

      For most it is not possible because they draw the eletricity from overhead, that would be way too dangerous. But Berlin subway draws its power from a third rail (yellow, right next to the normal rails). Thats why it is "save" to drive open top.

    This is indeed interesting. Thankyou for this ride. It is also interesting to note the amount of Graffiti inside the tunnels between stations. I don't know why the authorities are not clamping down on this. Also I noticed on a couple of train cars. But WOW! What a ride.

      those graffitis are like in 1990's - 2000's or maybe older. there are no CCTV before and most people are hiding on train stations or walking on rail tracks during mid night where Less train are operated or some stations are still open during mid night.

    One thing I noticed was the cuts from you or whoever filming in one car then in the other back and forth, where even one cut was a repeat of the first part of video remember the lady ;) Nice anyway. Seems more like enjoyment entertainment ride then tour lol.

    What is that red-orange electrical pole? Being open cars, is that lightning arrestor, for when, and if, train goes outside?
    Also, why aren’t there any trains ahead of the one filmed in this video, considering it was mostly nonstop? If there was a normal schedule going on, wouldn’t the train eventually catch up to a train ahead?

    • @armybasegamer8859
      @armybasegamer8859 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      a BVG employee here, good questions, i can answer those for you
      1. no, nothing like that, not even our normal trains have those for those reasons, the pole just acts as a repeater for the Entertainment system on board, there is a live Moderator on each trip, every visitor gets a headset at the beginning and he or she can listen to moderation
      2. yes, you would be right if there weren't good planing beforehand, the cabrio tours are only at late evening where the u-bahn runs only at 7 to 10mins, so there is a little bit of overhead there, but yes, this train is unscheduled, meaning running in between the normal schedule, for every direction change the train has to do it goes into a siding and wait til there is again a big enough gap for him to go on, you can't really see it here because of the cuts
      fun fact: on my last ride as part of the driving team, the tour took a little bit more than 2 hours because of this, it was the first cabrio tour after many years and sometimes the signaler just forgot us we were waiting for his permission to go onto next section xD

      @marcodamasio 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@armybasegamer8859 one question: is this train electric or diesel or batteries powered? Because if I'm not wrong there should be a non-alimented section between Deutsche Oper and Richard-Wagner-Platz

    • @armybasegamer8859
      @armybasegamer8859 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@marcodamasio is there no third rail available the train can be power via diesel, normally we use our battery locos for those tours cause of the diesel fumes but there are currently broken down and the BVG has no intention to fix them in the near future, so diesel/electric locos for now
