Depends on if the price of new BTC mining computers come down, nm chip scales can get smaller and if those new chips necessary to keep mining profitable get manufactured....otherwise, we are talking about watching the doubling of power consumption cost for similar mining/transaction validating outcome volume. This issue is non-existent with POS protocols...it's a simple no brainer direction if BTC fails due to current and up coming hardware limitations.

It's absurd that some people say Bitcoin has no "intrinsic value" but gold does because it can be used as jewelry. I'm pretty sure a decentralized, fair, incorruptible financial system that has the ability to drastically reduce the wealth gap throughout the world has exponentially more intrinsic value than something that can be used as jewelry.

Gold is also used for computers and processing chips. I know the total use of Gold is only around 10% of the supply, but we wouldn't have Bitcoin without it. It is good for both to be here and exist together... As it is for Bitcoin to exist with other crypto that have necessary use cases in the world.

Thank you David for years of interesting interviews. first time I have commented. wanted to mention that a great BTC model to consider is the one that was highlighted on a Fred Kruger interview of Giovanni. its a power log model, seems most plausible and seems to accurately describe what has happened so far. your former counterpart from KITCO interview Fred Kruger and mentioned Giovanni's power-log model. so I watched Kruger's interview aired about three weeks ago. Giovanni is an astrophysicist, Fred Kruger is a mathematician. looks like 4.6 million dollar BTC price by 2050. You might want to interview either one of them. -Dwight

ETF is good for the small retail who dont want to deal with buying bitcoin directly. Institutional size would prefer to buy direct.
ETFs preferred for wire houses and pension funds. No need to go outside the system and no need to custody. Wire houses and ETFs haven't even entered. ETFs have been predominantly retail to this point.

When you consider that Bitcoin has broken the historic model, by reaching ATHs, before the halving, I feel the present consolidation is prudent.
Also, when you look at the GBTC dumping, since the spot ETF's introduction, especially, this last week, & the fact at this rate the GrayscaleBTC will soon be drained, it does bode well, for the post halving price rise.
GBTC draining ceasing: AND, the continual ETF's buying numbers + the miner's halving production = 🚀

Secondly, SHA-256 doesn’t cryptographically protect the Bitcoin network. The “crypto” in Bitcoin is elliptic curve geometry.

People keep leaving out or ignoring a relevant factor of BTC doubling 14-18 days after reaching an all-time-high.
They fail to note that this previous behaviour was tied to "after the halving" , not before the halving.

There's still a lot of smoke and spin associated with bitcoin, but this interview went to the heart of every important question. No one else can tackle these questions as concisely as David.
I believe in the future of btc but this prediction is a bit far fetched IMO. If the etfs were really creating 10x the demand, we would never see any dips and it'd just go straight up
GBTC outflows are cancelling out the inflows. Their biggest outflow to date was yesterday! But it will stabilize - GBTC is supposedly looking at cutting fees, they are in panic mode, somethings gotta give.

I understand all of the arguments and the supply shock and all that but there is just absolutely no chance btc comes even close to $1m in the next 12-18 months. Lol the market cap would be $21T making it 50% larger than gold (currently 14T) and twice the size of blackrock's AUM (~10T). It's hilarious to even say that would happen by 2030. The only way we get $1m btc in the next 12-18 months is if the US spirals into hyperinflation which is far from my base case.
Even taking something like 10% would mean trillions in market cap... I wonder how many more people would be ready to sell at that point...

Great show I disagree that BTC is the only coin showing momentum recently, Ive said it before back in 2023 that Solana would be the Ethereum of this bull run, rise similarly to ETH in 2017-2018. SOl's dominasce is at record levels (3.5%) above where it was in 2021 when price hit $250. I see Dominanace of SOl hitting 5% this year and a peak price of $500 up to $750.

Gold and BTC really aren't comparable. BTC is much more accessible to buy than gold. You can buy 30 cents or 3 billion of btc with the click of a button and get it instantly.

why is BTC selling this morning while Gold and Silver are exploding up yet again? I will be buying dips to 40 and 50k. There is just way too much optimism around this halving.
And miners are pretty much break even, thus don’t have sell/supply bitcoin to market. Thus demand with supply shortage, price will rise very high. Difficulty will then rise, requiring upgrades from miners, this selling, thus price crash. For next 4yrs cycle. 🤘
