Its nice to see two brothers who've openly disliked each other for decades, be able to come together for a couple hours a night to showcase this new Black Crowes cover band of theirs.
I had a major Crowes obsession for roughly twenty years, travelled all over Europe and The US to see them (did the full Euro tours for Amorica in 94/5 including the support slots for The Stones and Page & Plant and the Sho' Nuff and By Your Side tours of 1999) and I'm sorry to say that the "new" Crowes is a shameless cash grab, you can see that in Rich's demeanour, more sullen and morose than ever. They (Chris and Rich) always detested the idea of becoming a "heritage band" playing their old hits and doing anniversary tours and now look. How easily Rich just walked away from Magpie Salute without a backward glance and went back to a brother who thinks he IS The Crowes, as evidenced in his ridiculous demands when the band tried to come back from their "hiatus" and he asked for most of the money and a cut of the cash due for other band members. Sad.
Southern harmony, musical companion is a true album put it on let it play start to finish. It’s amazing.
If you have never heard thorn in my pride do yourself a favor and look it up, on of the finest piece of music ever written .
I’ve been a fan of theirs since their first album. They’re a true rock and roll band, and seeing them reunite is just so great.
Great, old fashioned rock and roll band. Good to have them around again.
I was working for a small radio station in West Virginia when their first album was released. We received the promotion single for "Jealous Again". After the first time I played it on the air, which was also the first time I'd heard the song myself, I told a couple of coworkers that these guys were going to be BIG. Their first three albums course through my veins to this day. The band's history has been, shall we say....volatile? But I'm glad that the band are still making quality music almost 35 years later.
Fav song from them is Seeing Things...man that song just grabs ya and takes you to the heights.
Great band.
I saw them in concert in 1991 I think in Dallas, Texas. Went with a small group of friends/co-workers. That record was hot, hot, hot. On the radio constantly. It was a really good concert and I could not stop watching the lead singer. We were all just gob-smacked at his energy levels. We knew there were some good drugs behind his energy. I had never seen energy and a man wound up so much. And no photos, no cameras, no phones from those days.
I’ve seen them so many times. Talked to Chris a couple times. Great guy.
Being able to watch a real band play live without lip syncing and backing tracks is why they’re one of the greatest bands in history.
These guys reminded me of the Rolling Stones only more soulful, glad they got it back together.
😂
They remind me of The Faces.
saw them last year and they were excellent. so glad to hear them cooking again!
They are awesome! Seen them twice back in the day can't wait to see them again!
I'm so glad they worked it out! I love this band. They are so awesome!!
I was very pleased to hear Chris and Rich were able to reunite again. There is no doubt in my mind that they need each other as much as we - their fans and music lovers of Southern Rock - need them. I got concerned that the day would come when one of them would check out from planet earth and things that should have been said a long time ago would never be spoken. I'm really thankful it didn't come to that. Thank you guys and best of luck moving forward 🙏☮️ And thank you @CBSMornings for a great segment.
Never too late to make amends so much more thrives. Love the music.
Good the Robinson bros found one another in life again.
They did it for the money.
Poor Rich. Lol The new album is aweseome...they always deliver.
These guys were so great on Howard Stern today. And killer performance!
You always need each other!!
I discovered "She talks to Angels" a few years ago while learning guitar.Didnt know there was tension between them . I think from a seeing a couple interviews over the years that Rich has much of what my personality has been .Good that they're doing their new album on vinyl.
I still hate how they f’d Steve Gorman. He’s been such a monster part of their sound. One of the absolute best drummers IMO
u read my mind thnk you for stating that
Yea - I agree . I guess his book didn’t help matters, haha. But he is an original member , and tbh, their lineup changes - even including Steve- have never really captured the first 3 album chemistry that they had - esp.,the 2nd album: THAT lineup was the best , overall.
Of course the songs are “the sound” , and that’s Chris & Rich , but the live performances of the 1992/93 era - you can see and hear the chemistry
One of my favorite groups they make me feel young again! Love them!
Love me some Black Crowe's!
Thank you men!
Chris saying he loved Rich…..hit me.
Love the Crowes. Been a fan for over 30yrs. Warms my heart to see them getting on harmoniously.
Respect to CBS for doing a long-form piece on the Crowes! I consume zero mainstream media because it is typically war propaganda or BS. This is real news. The first record in 15 years. And you evoked a lot from those guys. The host obviously admires the guys and their music, or he faked it really well. The DID use the word "love" and you could feel it between them. This was a a very well done piece of journalism, right down to the commentary at the end. Thank you.
Am I wrong or is that Jared Leto jamming with them and getting no attention from CBS? Way to keep it real and not make it all star-fuckery. I agree, CBS gets 2 thumbs up from me. For this and literally nothing else haha.
Great story. That's the first time I've heard them delve into their differences and how they overcame them.
This band is totally Bitchin. Mainly the 90’s era, but I really enjoyed the 2005 tour. The Fillmore run and L.A. run on that tour was glorious. Oh yes, Vegas on that tour as well. Thankfully the band did those instant lives right after the gig. Very cool 😎
We definitely need more of them!
I'm glad they stayed true to their style.
Welcome to the Jungle Mr. Black Crows!!
Love Rich’s reaction to Chris when he says we haven’t talked for seven years. Like WTH is wrong with this guy Chris 😆 Best American band ever! Long live the Black Crowes
I got the tour with them as they were an opening act for one of the bands. I was working with the time way back when.
It';s about time! Great group.
I’m so happy ❤
I saw Chris at an Atlanta record store a long time ago before he got married. He is one tall dude. Around 6' 4". I gave him his privacy and let him browse the vinyl bins.
Love! 🖤
Cool ! Great to have them back again!
The Black Crowes are a great band.
Not the same without Steve
@@robpaxson4455 Came here to say this, they reformed for the money and cashing in on midlife Gen X money.
@@stevegrimm6936 sad, because they were a great band, but it just seems like a cash grab at this point
Were.
I love The Black crowes great classic rock band they're from Memphis Tennessee we've had a lot of great classic rock bands come out of Memphis Tennessee the king of rock and roll Elvis i is one of them 🎸🎶🎵🎸🎸🎶🎵🎵🎶🎸🎸🎶🎵🎸🎶🎸🎵
I love Memphis but the Crowes are from Atlanta.
Atlanta Ga is where they’re from
Can’t wait to see them play live
Great singer and great guitarist
The conflict led to artistic freedom. What an amazing band.
So perfectly 80’s style in ROOOOOOCK🤌🤭❣️🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
Great piece! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
wow...look at all that happiness on the thumbnail lol
I watered my garden yesterday…planted Tulips….
on yer dad
@@ramonmoreno8014 ask your mom…by the way how’s Steve?
Love tulips
Love the Crowes. Will get!
So excited about this….
It's fantastic
Without Steve Gorman and Marc Ford it’s hollow and lifeless.
What kind of radio station will play this new record? Interested to see where they fit in 15 years later?
Their o sweet nothing is fantastic and Rich sings it.
Southern Harmony is my go to lp
And it's good.
Great band
Well,, that was then this is now ...and for the love of God!!!!, get it together... because I love you!!! The world loves you!! You are the black crowes and we love you!!!!! I love you !!! My band!!! Not led zeppelin, not the rolling stones!!!, but you the brothers!!!.. the black crowes ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
They got too big for their britches, not talking to a brother for seven years when you made each other rich and famous is insane. I can say this because my dad delivered both of them in this world, he was the first human they touched besides their mother. Dad had many stories of famous ppl he delivered all over, and in Grady hospital in Buckhead ATL.
Underrated in open G
So many good musicians and then there's guys like this....
Yahoo. ✌️😎👍
The Gray Crowes
Was not a big fan at all
Back in the day. But as
Time progressed, I think
I found an appreciation for
Their music somewhat.
It’s nice the brothers are
Getting along nowadays…
So awesome to hear definitely one of the greatest bands and blessed by God above when he does come here to earth, these boys will have a stage as well so they might as well get along because they’re stuck together free eternity. What a time that’ll be.❤️🙏😄
Thumbs up for the Suspira soundtrack on the wall.
🔥 great news 📰 🎁
now its Oasis turn😎
Rock On Children
When asked what it's like to record music in their later years, the brothers responded, "twice as hard".
All the BC players participated, including the chorus girls, for whom they say that the group's musicians did not record. I see them speak without knowing.
Very underrated band......very unique sound
Stones meet the Faces sound.
Underrated by who? They're a great band, just say that.
@@grayman618 Underrated by not having the recognition they deserved...is that ok with you pal?
Blood’s thicker than water. Glad they patched things up.
Strange way to phrase the title. In my mind, when you say they released new music for the first time in more than a decade, that would be 11, 12, maybe 13 years. But I would have never guessed 15.
I was wondering throughout the video how many interviews he did for this piece, then he mentioned it in the end segment.
They need Marc Ford to be what they used to be. Unfortunate he's not still in the band. He was their secret weapon on the early albums. Just sayin.
They need Steve Gorman even more so.
Chris bro, i'm so happy you guys buried the hatchet..
doesn't always happen
Tico does his best metal vocal at 1:36 / 3:55
1:36 / 3:55
Now, there’s a news flash.
I got shake for my 14th bday
Kate Hudson is a singer too
Hey!❤
Is it weird that I think of the Black Crowes as the American Rolling Stones? Because the Stones are maybe the only British Invasion band that ever really made American music. Particularly the kind you could make in Nashville, Detroit or Memphis. I grew up on their music and of course the Beatles, but early on, Aerosmith was America's answer to the Stones. But all the while, the Allman Brothers were forging a new ethos from the Southern Boogie Band tradition, rooted in the kind of Down South Jukin' later exemplified by Lynerd Skynerd, who toured with the Stones, with the intention of blowing them off the stage, every night. According to contemporaneous accounts, they succeeded, more nights than not. But where does that leave the Black Crowes, who grew up in the shadow of the bands afore mentioned, plus Tom Petty? FIIK.
No Marc Ford though, huh? With him they're damn good. Without him, they're...a rock and roll band.
Marc elevated this band to the big leagues.Subpar w/o him.
Marc is great, but their music without him is still excellent. Warpaint and BTF UTF are incredible and By Your Side is a classic. Love marc and his solo stuff too but the music transcends any one member. If anything I’d say no Steve Gorman is a bigger loss.
@@Nothingpersonal42 I agree too. As a drummer myself I know the beatkeeper is an integral part of any band and when a good one is no longer there its painfully obvious.
I never cared about Black Crowes but anecdote I heard..when George Harrison was asked what he likes he said his son Dohny turned him on to Black Crowes so that was his answer
🌠 Alright ...
Oh good more covers of black artists’ hits upcoming
CHRIS ROBINSON BAND. R.I.P. 1991-2013 The Black Crowes 🙏

@@TheRoomfull truth hurts 😢
Absolutely! This isn’t The Black Crows. Not one mention of the rest of the band.
@@DizzyLicks000 THANK YOU!
Anthony Mason does it again!
Sierra Ferrell and The Black Crowes in one week!
The Robinson bro$ band.
You mean the Robinson Bros...
Saw them with Oasis on the comically named Brotherly Love Tour….no sign of the Gallagher war thawing
i miss chris robinson brotherhood
Get the feeling Rich still doesn't like Chris much but they need each other to make that touring money.
Total cash grab. Look like they hate each other.
Where is Steve G
Did Chris decide to act like an adult?
Chris needs money after losing half his earnings 3 times in divorces.
They are on the same page when it comes to money.
Wonder if people will start crying about the name of their band?
Excellent live band!
When I first heard these guys I told my wife that this might be the greatest American rock band since Creedence. I still think that's true.
Great band, but They don’t have the required body of work to be even equals with CCR.
