AA Systems like the FlaRakRad stand no Chance against 18 Brimstones, you can intercept 2 missiles an then you Are dead
I am an advocate of adding 2-3 patriot/ whatever russian long range SAM system to both sides of maps for both teams, and create a seperate AA mode for player SPAA's. This creates a better environment for both Ground and Air players.

If they're ever going to introduce the FnF Brimstone, I think they'll probably artificially nerf it by limiting it to a max of 6x per plane, but still cost more SP than Mav cause I believe the Brimstone can track through smokes (like the Khrizantema) due to it having mm radar seeker instead of IR.
Yeah I was expecting them to keep it limited to 6 but then eventually introduce LOBL radar brimstones, but maybe not then. But I like the current brimstones as they are very unique in the ways you can use them
Yep, LOAL method, I've been using this method in apache helicopters with hellfires for a while now and got pretty good with it. The fact that you can put SPI on the exact spot where you want your targeting optics to look will instantly improve hellfires too.
yeah apache loal with 16 hellfires is also insane, placing a SPI through the map will also make the apache better now although ill probably just use the tgp and then duck behind cover anyway
@@Apex_warthunder you need to have enable laser before launch turned off in settings otherwise the laser will fire immediately and the hellfires will start tracking whatever is blocking your LOS, and then only turn the laser on once you can see the target
@@Apex_warthunder As Kai said, make sure you have that setting turned off but also it feels like Hellfires have an obscene amount of INS drift without laser lock compared to brimstones which makes it a lot harder, and they also have a lot less energy (due to the platform launching them) so when you reactivate your laser they have a harder time pulling in. I've been using this same method on the Tornado since they added it and its quite effective, though will be a hell of a lot easier with the map SPI, and with an aircraft a million times more manoeuvrable than the tornado
Negative, the video is biased. It's not just the Eurofighter, but all jets equipped with laser-guided missiles. I won't even mention the most overpowered one, the KH-38, as the new map system will be able to accomplish that. Note: The Brimstone is very slow.

A kh 38ml is very easy to shoot down in all spaa, I have seen a otomatic shoot them down. The kh 38ml is incredibly bright and makes it easy go shoot down the kh 38ml, the iog doesn't work very well on the kh 38 either
Spawning ainti CAS aircraft with radar missiles is usually 550sp - 600 with fox 3's so we will see what we have been seeing. More dedicated anti CAS players in jets in GRB
Apparently the variants of Eurofighters they're adding were never equiped with brimstones. This means that they may just take them away, or have to change them to later models.
The British EF doesn't have the right IR AA missiles. It should have ASRAAM not AIM-9M. It does have Brimstones but they nerfed them because the actual ones would be too strong for the game as the devs rightly stated. FGR4 is the most up to date Typhoon for Britain which I am surprised they did, since the US have to deal with all the early versions of F-14, F-15 and F-16

Or 1 good player of them kills everyone

the thing with the active radar mode on the Brimstone is it acquires, targets, and then tracks and kills completely by itself - and said radar doesn't have any kind of IFF system. So you wouldn't be using them in ground RB anyway because the risk of friendly fire is far too great, collateral damage reduction is precisely why they have the laser guidance mode in the first place. The only situation really you'd miss the active radar mode would be in simulator battles going after convoys - that's the only example of when there's a sufficient lack of blue team things to hit in which it'd be reasonable to let 18 death sticks fly off and then do their own thing unsupervised. I doubt we'll ever see it added because it's literally just not useful for how the game works. The Brimstone works the way it does because the Tornado isn't good at loitering, something anyone who's tried to use the thing in CAS roles is very aware of. The idea was the Tornado would essentially turn a destruction of enemy armour mission in to a low level high speed attack run just like it does against static targets and runways. It flies at where a group of enemy armour is known to be, rifles off all it's missiles, then turns away and gets the hell back home. The missiles then do the acquisition, targeting and attack work themselves much like how firing contemporary anti-radiation missiles works
I think everyone will be unhappy who isn’t a German main, Germany now is the best country outright in the game by the time of the update. I still thinks it’s karma with how behind the curve Germany has been for every update in the air department.

and people say that su34 is too op, the thing is that you can just shot down all kh rockets but you cant just counter small brimstone that is harder for radar to detect and find their location meanwhile with su34 your radar tells you where su34 is, and so you know that there is somewhere, in the same location, missiles coming at you
Play adats vs su34 and tell me your experience later. That crap doesn't lock anything on 3rd person, you have to spot targets visually and then zoom in to lock. Radar just shows the direction where to look. Effective range is barely 8km. You mostly can't see any AGMS flying at you unless it's too late. AGMS are launched far beyond theoretical spaa range anyway, so no way to shoot cas down. And even in the best case scenario where I shoot down your 6 AGM's I have only 2 missiles left lol. Very fun. Or flakradrad where you shoot 2 missiles and 2 eterneties to reload another 2 lol.

It still require time management and good reaction so its nowhere near as easy as just spamming space button from outside of spaas range like su34/25sm3 do. I hope new Chinese tor will provide some "challenge" to ussr cas (yes, I know they still getting outplayed by ocelot's and tank rooftop machine guns on their kh38 carriers but we are talking about an actual pilots)
I think we need AI SPAA that fire at incoming munitions and any aircraft that get too close. These should spawn with the rest of the players and hang back from the objectives but not sit at spawn.
With weapons like this, I'd find an progressive game mode increasingly interesting. Starting at a point and pushing a team up or down through a long map, with AA systems AI controlled with the option for player AA systems, it's up to then the ground players to make these systems in effective then CAS can begin to be implemented, part of the problem for me it the set points with no progression in the map for either team, and too much mobility also, restrictions on mobility and ease of play sound counter intuitive but I think if it's harder for CAS to operate without ground force help, and harder for ground to operate without cas teams will behave more like teams and spawn killing will be less.
Is this method still viable? I have been trying to do this, but the timer starts at like 60 seconds in test flight. the brimstone gets there before the timer runs out and i cant calculate when i should fly up to laser.
I mean, people celebrating and all that Pantsir can now be owned, but remember pantsir is like our last line of defense against cancerous CAS. now that it can be taken down reliably, remember the pantsir when those 18 brimstone each from 5 eurofighters starts obliterating your team from your spawn.
While very powerful, this tactic requires a lot of skill and luck to use especially if you don't have someone to mark SPAAs for you. Most people will juat fly in a straight line and guide one Brimstone at a time.
With this strat if you are up against the urss you finally have a way to survive more than 5 seconds if a pantsir is up but i can't imagine how painful this will be for nations that don't have the pantsir that can make the entire map a no fly zone.
The Tiger UHT was the first fire and forget system in war thunder and that was already a problem, now so many jets and other helis have these fire and forget systems, which just break the balance hard now.
It would be good if they gave the brimstones some sort of F&F capability akin to that of the AGM65 or KH38, gaijin has modelled weapons ahistorically before and I don't understand why they won't do with the Brimstones, they can even limit the amount you can take if they were worried about balance.
This will only work against AA that has already spawned in, if they catch you without missiles out this wont work. Seems very situational and really is not that effective for normal gameplay.
I disagree, you can always stay low and use your RWR and tgp to figure out if there is an AA and which spawn he is on, and even if you peek up after firing your brimstones to start lazing, you're already out at 10km+ so they have no time to shoot you down
@ it’s not practical for gameplay, CAs is meant to get as many kills as possible quickly. This is the most effective way to use CAS. This is the reason why planes like the su34 are so effective. This reminds me of some bombing thing ihunter86 does where you just rat in CAs and lose 60% of your games. It just not that effective practically sorry.
Yeah, i partly agree, having 6 fire and forget brimstones would be cooler for getting killstreaks in 1 strafe but i also really like the SAL brimstones as they are unique and fun to use

A su34 with it's OP radar can spawn and launch a R77 at you instantly while you are trying to time the Brimstone arrival on target. It's just not efficient compared com what others can do spamming their fire n forget missiles and retreating to base or going dedicated air defense.
@@apoleonschneiderthe FM is still WiP but the Typhoon is much better at reacting to launches than the Tornado is, the combination of RWR and MAWS should make it easier for you to notch/multipath an R-77 and then turn back in for the terminal lase. Plus with that many Brimstones “wasting” a couple isn’t a huge deal. It’s also worth noting that the Typhoon radar on dev is basically placeholder, so it’s likely it’ll be just as capable as the Su-34, and you can run 4 AMRAAM and 6 AIM-9M with 12 Brimstone so (again unlike the Tornado) you can compete against other planes.

Did you not watch the video? The missile does not travel at the speed of light, it has to first reach the plane. It can not reach the plane if the plane only pops up for a few seconds to do terminal guidance before going back down to earth. He explained is.
First off, AFAIK the newest SAM systems can now track projectiles so a good SAM player (i know, that's an oxymoron) should have a decent chance of defending themselves. Also, if they have a laser warning receiver and smoke then they have a second layer of defence. Finally, none of this would be an issue if Gaijin finally pulled their collective fingers out and added area and point defence jammers to the game. If the war in Ukraine has shown us anything it is that the actual hit and kill rates of all these new wonder weapons is WAY less than advertised, that is almost certainly due to having to work in a high ECM environment.

we need better cas balancing at top tier, this and the f15e makes the pantsir useless, but fighting pantsirs in a tornado gr1 is almost impossible. also the tornado gr4 will have basicly the same matchmaker as the eurofighter in grb, but its slower, has less ordnance, way less nimble and only has 2 fox2s instead of the eurofighters 2 fox2s and 4 fox3s

Tornado GR.4 guys used the Brimstones like this, you cannot stay high in a Tornado in top tier games. Fly low and use them like laser guided rockets.

While very powerful, this tactic requires a lot of skill and luck to use especially if you don't have someone to mark SPAAs for you. Most people will juat fly in a straight line and guide one Brimstone at a time.
With this strat if you are up against the urss you finally have a way to survive more than 5 seconds if a pantsir is up but i can't imagine how painful this will be for nations that don't have the pantsir that can make the entire map a no fly zone.

You have to keep a laser lock and that is only possible within 18 km, so you're dead to a Pantsir anyways
The Italian Chadfighter should lose the Brimstone, because only Britain operates them and German got their first batch.
The Tiger UHT was the first fire and forget system in war thunder and that was already a problem, now so many jets and other helis have these fire and forget systems, which just break the balance hard now.

It would be good if they gave the brimstones some sort of F&F capability akin to that of the AGM65 or KH38, gaijin has modelled weapons ahistorically before and I don't understand why they won't do with the Brimstones, they can even limit the amount you can take if they were worried about balance.
This will only work against AA that has already spawned in, if they catch you without missiles out this wont work. Seems very situational and really is not that effective for normal gameplay.
I disagree, you can always stay low and use your RWR and tgp to figure out if there is an AA and which spawn he is on, and even if you peek up after firing your brimstones to start lazing, you're already out at 10km+ so they have no time to shoot you down
@ it’s not practical for gameplay, CAs is meant to get as many kills as possible quickly. This is the most effective way to use CAS. This is the reason why planes like the su34 are so effective. This reminds me of some bombing thing ihunter86 does where you just rat in CAs and lose 60% of your games. It just not that effective practically sorry.

Yeah, i partly agree, having 6 fire and forget brimstones would be cooler for getting killstreaks in 1 strafe but i also really like the SAL brimstones as they are unique and fun to use
@@Kai_TG I'm worry about how vulnerable you are flying around the battlefield these days with all the fox 3 missiles around. A su34 with it's OP radar can spawn and launch a R77 at you instantly while you are trying to time the Brimstone arrival on target. It's just not efficient compared com what others can do spamming their fire n forget missiles and retreating to base or going dedicated air defense.
@@apoleonschneiderthe FM is still WiP but the Typhoon is much better at reacting to launches than the Tornado is, the combination of RWR and MAWS should make it easier for you to notch/multipath an R-77 and then turn back in for the terminal lase. Plus with that many Brimstones “wasting” a couple isn’t a huge deal.
It’s also worth noting that the Typhoon radar on dev is basically placeholder, so it’s likely it’ll be just as capable as the Su-34, and you can run 4 AMRAAM and 6 AIM-9M with 12 Brimstone so (again unlike the Tornado) you can compete against other planes.

They should add at this point Phalanx and C-Ram system that automatically tracks and destroy incoming missiles . That is the only viable countermeasure to that absolute horrendous and unbalances spam of CAS

Did you not watch the video? The missile does not travel at the speed of light, it has to first reach the plane. It can not reach the plane if the plane only pops up for a few seconds to do terminal guidance before going back down to earth. He explained is.

First off, AFAIK the newest SAM systems can now track projectiles so a good SAM player (i know, that's an oxymoron) should have a decent chance of defending themselves. Also, if they have a laser warning receiver and smoke then they have a second layer of defence.
Finally, none of this would be an issue if Gaijin finally pulled their collective fingers out and added area and point defence jammers to the game. If the war in Ukraine has shown us anything it is that the actual hit and kill rates of all these new wonder weapons is WAY less than advertised, that is almost certainly due to having to work in a high ECM environment.

we need better cas balancing at top tier, this and the f15e makes the pantsir useless, but fighting pantsirs in a tornado gr1 is almost impossible. also the tornado gr4 will have basicly the same matchmaker as the eurofighter in grb, but its slower, has less ordnance, way less nimble and only has 2 fox2s instead of the eurofighters 2 fox2s and 4 fox3s

For myself, i don't have Pantsir, looks poitless for me. Giant cartboard box with pew pew. 2C6 have a great rockets which can turn and gets ppl in like 80% times (there are one cons: you need to think about how you tracking the planes. Dont just lock and shoot.)
I'm just tired of constant yapping about nothing from "wannabe cas" players. We have bigger problems in this game about visibility, plane's warning systems (why we can see where we are locking from above or below in fpv, but we don't have that feature on UI?), and the most frustrating turning the seeker off by himself and on F16AJ, AJ35 sometimes TV seeker just don't work on A-G missiles
