    From what I've been able to find, this might be the first and only video from the top of Annapurna (certainly on TH-cam). It's amazing to see.

    OMG! Annapurna without oxygen. One of the world's hardest mountains (rivalled by K2, Nanga Parbat, Kangchenjunga, Baintha Brakk and a few rock climbs only). People like you inspire mere mortals like me to do amazing things. You may have inspired me to train for many mountains to come. Well done on summiting Annapurna. You can now sleep in peace without worrying about avalanches.

      The first ascent was done with no supplementary oxygen, as was the difficult south face, which Uli Steck also soloed in 23 hrs up and down! No fixed ropes there.

    What a breathtaking view!!!
    There is at least 27% of deaths in the alpinists who climbs the Annapurna... statistically that means there is at least one person amongst those we see in that video who died during the descent.. crazy to think about.

    Exactly: I am REALLY wondering why there are not more summit videos or summit pictures from the top of Annapurna I. It is the 8000er with the highest casualty rate. In the 1970 film about the British Annapurna South face expedition, there is a short sequence of Don Whllians on top, with Dougal Haston filming, and then, the two exchanging positions. The sequence of the film which documents the expedition led by Sir Chris Bonnington is a masterpiece, and the sequence depicting the summit shows just how exposed the summit region is, consistent with the video posted here. Several other summit "pictures" or stills, or videos, are not convincing. According to the 1970 film, the summit is very exposed, as is consistent with what is being documented here. Frankly, I would be keen to see more actual summit videos of Annapurna I. It is somehow a mystery.

      A lot of summits in 8000m+ are debatable, many court cases and pieces have been written about it. Often solo or duo summits with little to no proof, Ueli Steck didn't even provide a single piece of evidence to his solo of Annapurna-I. Luckily we have
      Mingma G here making amazing ascends and with full teams and video proof of them.

    Awesome video Migma ! I have a question where you guys are sitting is that the toppedy top, or what is that cornice as you pan left a tad higher. The video of Don Whillans standing on top of Annapurna looks like he is standing on that cornice as you pan the camera. Great climb, sorry about your mates that died on the way down

    • @Hydrargyrum8
      @Hydrargyrum8 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      This is not one of the other summits. Because annapurna is a massif with a long ridge you have to go through a false summit to eventually reach the actual summit.
