    I can't wait to make this. So simple and very nice looking. Luckily for those of us with just a drill, all of the pieces can be gotten from from HD or Lowes pre-cut and treated....am still going to paint mine blue and white with outdoor weather resistant paint I used for another project last summer. Thanks!

    Nice design. I might use this for a poolside bench...countersinking is nice but unnecessary here unless you are close to the end and afraid of splitting. You can just drive the screw and if it wants to gap out just reverse and resink. Also if you dont want to buy a countersink or switch to a drill bit you can spin your screw backwards until you make your hole, effectively turning your screw into a pre drill. We use this trick alot when pre drilling is helpful but not always necessary.

    thank you. I am going to stain all the pieces two tones a red cedar and a dark black and then assemble it for a 2 tone finished bench!

    Great job. I would removed the rounded edges at the table saw so it is not so obvious that it is made from 2x4's .

      LMAO! Surely it would be easier to just not make the thing out of 2x4s then rartehr than buying 2x4s and then going throug the trouble of removing the rounded edges?!

    Nice bench. Any reason you did not use wood glue all around?

    • @infinitebuilds491
      @infinitebuilds491  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Wood glue is good for reinforcing the screws, but this bench is heavy. Using only wood glue would not be a good idea :)

    Could this be made as a 10ft bench instead? or would you have to add supports in the middle?

    • @infinitebuilds491
      @infinitebuilds491  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You should add support in the middle for a 10ft bench.

    IDK if the price of wood went through the roof or something but this bench is deceptively expensive to make. Other than pride in the achievement what's the point of DIYing if it ends up costing substantially more than just buying from a store?!

    • @drehahaha
      @drehahaha 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The purpose is to educate others in wood working. Also, I haven't seen this particular bench anywhere in store. It's quite attractive if you ask me.
