It’s crazy to me that Javier is voiced by the same guy. What an unbelievable job he did molding Javier into such a deep character the second time around.
Bunch of stuff about Javier: Javier's actor desperately wanted the character to side with John, Charles, Sadie, Uncle and Arthur at the end, however because of the events of RDR1 he wasn't able to make it happen. Javier is one of only three characters who stopped to check on Lenny when he is shot, the other two being Charles and Arthur. We see in the first mission on Guarma that he'd rather sacrifice himself to save the rest of the gang, showing he had compassion for them all. Javier's fate is sort of unknown, you can either kill him or turn him in, where if you turn him in it's questionable if they lock him up or have him hung. Overall, Javier is supposed to be in a somewhat middle ground between both sides, he wanders over behind Dutch, however he doesn't necessarily fight with Dutch, and reflects on the decision to ride with him negatively.
He doesn't aim his gun and just awkwardly stands on one side having no clue what's going on or what led up to this standoff, and iirc he isn't present at all during the rest of Chapter 6 after that.
@FieryVigil He does aim his gun at them when the Pinkertons are about to show up in the scene Everyone always ignores that, he has his gun pointed up at the beginning yes but he does eventually aim at Arthur and John

You missed the part where Javier was like we were family and John said we were family till you and Dutch went crazy then suddenly family didn’t mean so much anymore. Javier betrayed John and Arthur first.
The thing I noticed as well from this clip is they cut the entire conversation that John and Javier had making John seem more of an asshole than a guy who’s trying to get his family back and they made Javier seem like more of a good guy both were really really bad. They both went out of their way and they killed people they didn’t like. But again, I betrayed John
And I don’t think so many people care but when Javier looks like he puts the gun up for 1 second u can see he is aiming at Arthur showing he was not aiming his gun up just a fact
The actor literally said he was the one to put his gun up it wasn't in the script he just thought his character wouldn't aim a gun at his brother's even tho his character in rdr1 contradicts that

In the annals of time, two figures stand tall, Javier and John, bound by fate’s call. In 1899, amidst snow and despair, Their brotherhood blossomed in the cold mountain air. Javier saved John from death’s cruel embrace, In the Midwest’s wilds, where shadows gave chase. Through gunfire and peril, they fought side by side, With loyalty deep, their destinies tied. The outlaw life, with its treacherous path, Saw brothers in arms facing the world’s wrath. Their bond was a beacon in a landscape so grim, Each action and choice on the whim of a whim. Years passed like whispers, their paths grew apart, Yet the memories lingered deep in each heart. By 1911, in the Mexican sands, The winds of fate dealt crueler hands. John, with a family, seeking redemption’s light, Was forced to confront shadows of the night. Javier, now hunted, with nowhere to run, Once a brother, now the target of John’s gun. In the heat of the desert, under the blazing sun, Their final showdown had just begun. John’s hand trembled, the weight of the past, As Javier’s eyes met his, deep and steadfast. “Do it,” Javier whispered, accepting his fate, Their brotherhood shattered, now filled with hate. A shot rang out, echoing the pain, Of love turned to sorrow, of loss in the rain. John walked away, the burden heavy to bear, Each step a reminder of the bond they once shared. In the vast Mexican desert, their story was sealed, Two brothers now lost, their fates cruelly revealed. In the quiet of the night, when the stars softly gleam, Their ghosts ride together in a faraway dream. For in the heart of the wild, where legends are born, Their tale of love and loss remains ever forlorn. From the icy peaks to the scorching sand, Their legacy lives on in this haunted land. For in every outlaw, in every gunslinger’s lore, Javier and John will ride forevermore.
Javier acted like family but what he really thought came out. He accused John being the rat without facts, and like Bill & Dutch called him weak. They looked down on John for getting shot & always in need of saving.
I dont know why people say "JaViEr DiDnT PoInT HiS GuN At JoHn AnD ArThUr" he very clearly did, the clip people refer to is him raising his gun into the air and lowering it down to point it but people just dont show the part of him lowering his gun at arthur and john. If it hadn't been an option to kill Javier, it would've been fun to see Old Javier having escaped to Mexico only to train young Jack the way Landon trained John into the final battle with Ross.
I believe Javier took Dutch's side at the end of RDR 2 after he both abandoned Arthur and John on separate occasions, both times they came back to camp to tell everyone that he just *left* them. Javier *still* took Dutch's side. I'd say that make's his decision in RDR 1 even more justified than it was, considering in RDR 1 he was also trying to look after his own family.

In the Midwest’s wilds, where shadows gave chase.
Through gunfire and peril, they fought side by side,
With loyalty deep, their destinies tied.
The outlaw life, with its treacherous path,
Saw brothers in arms facing the world’s wrath.
Their bond was a beacon in a landscape so grim,
Each action and choice on the whim of a whim.
Years passed like whispers, their paths grew apart,
Yet the memories lingered deep in each heart.

As Javier’s eyes met his, deep and steadfast.
“Do it,” Javier whispered, accepting his fate,
Their brotherhood shattered, now filled with hate.
A shot rang out, echoing the pain,
Of love turned to sorrow, of loss in the rain.

Each step a reminder of the bond they once shared.
In the vast Mexican desert, their story was sealed,

Their tale of love and loss remains ever forlorn.

The story of Javier and John in the fading light.
In the shadows of history, their memories lie,
Brothers turned enemies, under the same sky.
The Midwest’s cold winds, the desert’s hot breath,
Bear witness to their bond, broken in death.
Yet in the silence, a whisper remains,
Of two souls forever bound by their pains.
From the icy peaks to the scorching sand,
Their legacy lives on in this haunted land.
For in every outlaw, in every gunslinger’s lore,
Javier and John will ride forevermore.
