    Thanks for this idea bro! I did it to my Gen 8 last night and it makes a huge difference and it also gets rid of the Gen 8 steering by itself in reverse.. it backs up in a straight line now! Awesome free mod!

    Just got my gen 8 and noticed a few things about the steering to note..yes the ball ends in the panhard link are sloppy. The traxas ball ends fix this. I also noticed that redcat may have updated the lower panhard link mount to a beefer piece. Non the less it still shifts when steering. Even after using goop to glue it i still found it got sloppy n loose after a few miles even with the weak stock servo. This mod is by far the best bud👌🛠 I also widened the track width +3 mm each side to keep the tires from rubbing the tie rods, which also allowed me to lift the tie rod up with 2.5 mm spacers to make a 'high steer' link that prevents it from hitting the pumpkin at extreme steer angles, and to also help steering geometry as I used a low profile servo horn to match the angle of the panhard bar. With this brace installed I no longer have to always adjust my steering trim every time I run it! Thanks exo👍😁👌🙃
    Keep the greasy side down bro

      @@ExocagedRC yes for sure the wider track, frt and rear helps with the wide body for stability side hilling. Plus the wheels sit flush with the flares and help the look of the truck alot! 👌I also managed to butcher 🛠up the original spare tire mount to be installed in the hitch receiver to carry my spare.🤔 No holes in body and it's chassis mounted. Got it mounted as close to the back of the body as the original.👍 and no extra weight high up on the body. Awesome channel bud. Your insight has helped alot with this rig and helped me decide to buy a gen 8. I hope to see more vids on it! Keep the greasy side down bro! 🙃

    There it is.. been waiting. Looks good and see no reason why it wouldn't work so long as the material used is stiff enough.

    What does the aluminum plate that says exocaged rc? Under the front bumper what does it go?

    • @HalibasterDillibickus
      @HalibasterDillibickus 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its a skidplate. It mounts to the chassis rails using the holes to mount the bumper. Good upgrade as it keeps rocks and sticks from bashing up your steering linkage parts.

    • @ExocagedRC

      any thin sheetmetal and you can get scraps from other cuts and just use that, most hardware stores like home depot and lowes should have metal stock or maybe some free cuts you can have.

    Do you know if the axe edition has a different axle? Where my shock connects to the lower link and axle, mine looks different. The panhard lower mount on the lower link barely has room to connect anything on the front. I'd upload a pic if that was an option!
    My shock mount is located directly on top of the axle. However, I'm noticing there are 2 shock mount locations, one on top of the axle and the other just behind but a couple mm's lower.
    Thanks in advance

    Redcat should have known better than to use single sheer points for the panhard upper bolt, Specially if using soft plastic..
    How hard or expensive would adding a double sheer point could be? Its not like its aluminum SMH..

      Hi, a bunch of problems once I started running. Huge amount of inner tire wear. Pulls left, needed to put trim at right 50. I did spend a lot of money on this. Just hoping to not have to change anything on the rig, unless I wanted to mod it. The pulling maybe a bad caster mount

    • @ianh3007
      @ianh3007 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rich-lf1bm Inner tire wear is from the front tie rod ends. You can fix this by getting an extended (8mm) hub nut to offset the tires a little more to bring the tires away from the tie rod ends. You can get a cheap set for like 10 bucks on amazon!

    • @rich-lf1bm
      @rich-lf1bm 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mounts are meant for the GEN 8 scout 2. I was trying to mount it in the GEN8 AXE, needs a 5.8mm ball stud they got it listed on their site.

    • @ianh3007
      @ianh3007 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@rich-lf1bm hey rich. One more thing that you can do to prevent inner tire wear is to move the tie rod from the top of the steering knuckles to the bottom of the steering knuckles. It does make the tie rod lower but its a free mod and it also improves the drag link angle and stops a considerable amount of bump steer
