That housing looks great. Glad to see you break out the Gen 8. The Crappa (lol) has taken way too much of your time. Love the Redcat videos keep up the great work.
Exocaged RC thanks man and ya right after I watched this video it took me to the video of you explaining it lol thanks for responding man and thanks for the good videos you help me a lot lol I’m new to the rc world and just got me a redcat gen 8
And I hate to be a pain in your ass but would you happen to know if I can just buy a stronger esc to power a aftermarket servo instead of trying to wire up a bec being that I know nothing about them lol
Well the Hobbywing 1080 is a great esc for $42 but I don’t think the bec has anymore amps than the one you already have. You can however turn the bec voltage up to 7.4v. Which may or may not burnout the receiver or the stock servo. Electronics can take some time to learn and chances are high you will blow up a few things like I have. LoL.
So other than the double sheer shock mount how are they better than the stock. Redcats website doesn't say much more than "they're heavy duty". Does it seem like a sturdier plastic, or are they a beefier design over all? Thinking about getting the Redcat portal kit for my wife's gen7.
Real legitimate question now. How far can I set the steering dual rate. Basically is your steering dual rate cranked all the way up or do you dial it down a bit.
Exocaged RC Oh yeah I guess I ca n reset the endpoints. This was on a different car before and set to it. Good idea man. This is why your one of the best. Thanks bro. ❤️👊😀
So if I took some notice to the rear diff input gear that it had a small wobble in it Dang might be a loose screw at the end of the input gear. Dammit I never knew their was a screw in it. Now I have to take it all apart after I built it and dbl check that screw. Lolololololololololl Thank you LOADS for telling me in this vid I wouldn’t have found out this anywhere else on planet earth
Flying Fortress RC I did a video “stop killing your motor” take a look at that video as stalling is the major issue and is shown throughout. Stalling is applying power to the motor while it can’t rotate
Wildman georges rc Channel it’s plastic, it’s made thicker and the double shear supports at the ends helps to eliminate the most common housing breaks.
Question to anyone that may know. I want to swap out the Gen 8s plastic axle housing for something heavier. I know Redcat does aluminum as does Treal and Hot Racing. is there anyone that does brass axle housings?
One thing I got to say "I never was abusive to my stuff until I started watching your channel...Yes all the damage I do is your fault!" LOL as far as my wife knows....
I myself run Holmes Hobbies motors in 5 different trucks some 540 others 550 and many others I go crawling with have them. I've never had one burn up nor anyone I crawl with. If people are having that problem it's probably their fault for not gearing it properly or they're running it in mud.
People need to understand with brushed motors in a crawler you can't have speed with a brushed crawler. You need to have the torque. If you want speed then go brushless
Exocaged RC send me your email so I can get your P.O. Box and I’ll send you one, maybe it can help out the channel. I have them all around but really you just need it up front where all the abuse is at, preaching to the choir I’m sure
A tip to get the screw off the drive shaft. Use a soldering iron to heat it up. That breaks the locktite hold.
Yup my front drive shaft dropped right out this week and it was my 3rd battery charge! Great vids keep it coming!
Your package arrived yesterday, thanks again exo!
Daniel Konrad awesome and good to hear it made it.
Love your Gen 8! I guess I am either lucky or skilled but I have not broken very much on mine. Keep up the great work bro!
Me2 me2
The exo sticker on screen looks like air cleaner sticking through
Thank you. I wanted to know which screws to use for the centre mounts for the shocks.

Me2 but my freind jus got one so i may also i haven't done a kit since i was 12 30 yrs ago lol
What’s the clicking sound ?
What does the double shear shock Mount do?
I’d like a set for mine cus I feel like my stock ones are bowed because of the weight of the truck
This was a great video! Love the spot too! Nice👍
Where did you find that steering brace? It's looks like it's supporting the panhard/lower link mount
How do you stall a motor on these? Like what causes the motor to stall?
Pushing against a wall or rock. Tires caught up in a crevasse etc.
Exocaged RC thanks man and ya right after I watched this video it took me to the video of you explaining it lol thanks for responding man and thanks for the good videos you help me a lot lol I’m new to the rc world and just got me a redcat gen 8

TJsRC I think the plastic is the same but it’s thicker and the double shear at the ends makes a big difference in durability.

I need to make a windshield banner that says this
i know Im quite randomly asking but does anybody know a good website to stream new tv shows online ?
Real legitimate question now.
How far can I set the steering dual rate.
Basically is your steering dual rate cranked all the way up or do you dial it down a bit.
Usually I run full steering and just set end points
Exocaged RC

Thanks bro. ❤️👊😀
So any maintenance of the shocks in their new position requires removal of the knuckles?
Alvin Marin yes
@@ExocagedRC damn.. oh well, they look good though
So if I took some notice to the rear diff input gear that it had a small wobble in it

That track will be hard for non portals
John Wizard nah it’s not bad at all for straight axles.
I'm new to these trucks and don't want to sound stupid but what do you mean by stalling your motor?
Flying Fortress RC I did a video “stop killing your motor” take a look at that video as stalling is the major issue and is shown throughout. Stalling is applying power to the motor while it can’t rotate
I’m kind of confused. Is the new axel metal or plastic? If it’s plastic what makes it more durable?
Wildman georges rc Channel it’s plastic, it’s made thicker and the double shear supports at the ends helps to eliminate the most common housing breaks.
I was wondering same , ppl must really beat hell out these, i like them gives chance to do maintenance win win
Nice vid👍 maybe hit the steps with a router it might give a little more grab for the tires. Or just hack on them lightly with a ax😀
Nice job!!!
Where did you get the steering brace?? Mine is in desperate need of one!!😂
I built it myself.

One thing I got to say "I never was abusive to my stuff until I started watching your channel...Yes all the damage I do is your fault!" LOL as far as my wife knows....
Can you run the course backwards?
Leslie Perkins yeah I’ve run it both ways many times.
I myself run Holmes Hobbies motors in 5 different trucks some 540 others 550 and many others I go crawling with have them. I've never had one burn up nor anyone I crawl with. If people are having that problem it's probably their fault for not gearing it properly or they're running it in mud.
Do you use the good brushed motors i thinking used properly for CLIMBING it will last long time and its ok not as durable as brushless or stock styles
People need to understand with brushed motors in a crawler you can't have speed with a brushed crawler. You need to have the torque. If you want speed then go brushless
Found it brother, nope I got an aluminum one I’ll give you bro
Billy Moore III ok I’ll get a video of it.
