Music is litterly one of my special intressed. I can't live without it. I listen to music alot, go to concert and play piano. Wouldn't know what to do without music. It just helps me relaxed in anxious situation. It helps me calm down.

I never found music lessons easy but teaching myself was the best. I play piano and electronic organ by ear. For listening I like listening to the same things over and over again.

Could you make a video about Mbti and Autism/Aspergers?

Yes!! That is one of my special interests! I believe there is a correlation between INFJ/INTJ types and autism. All the apie youtubers I've asked were those types. I am an INTJ. Aspies, post your type in the comments 😊

I adore music too! I’ve always loved it and grew up playing instruments. It was only until recently it became my special interest!

music also predates language to an extent. we learned to sing before we learn to talk. talking started as chanting, prayers or healing spells, and intertwined with dance.

I just went to a anime convention called Ohayocon that had quiet sensory room. It was free to the public so if you Badgeless you could still go in. Bean bag chair, giant soft doll, coloring books & quit fidget toys. They staff used no smelly disinfected spray after items where used.

That's really cool! My family is very musical, and I grew up playing pretty much anything I could get my hands on, except guitar because I play left handed and I don't know anyone else who does. I found an electronic piano in my university's library, and I often go there to calm down after exams, or between classes. But I have a very large collection of various instruments myself. And also toe shoes, because the way I deal with sensory challenges on my feet, is with toe shoes because they fit like a glove and I love toe socks. But with music, I have over a dozen different ocarinas, different shapes, ranges, and sounds, an organ my grandpa gave my mom and I, a small synth that is the most fun to play with, and an ukulele. I have some other things I don't play as often, mostly wind instruments. I play to calm down, and I'd love to make a virtual band where I play all my instruments and then have some kind of little animation or something for a video. My grade 2-3 teacher used to gather all her students to sit in a circle every day, we'd take turns with 2 drums she had, eveyone else would have shakers, and she'd play ukulele and we'd sing and have fun. That was definitely a highlight in elementary school, other than going to the lake for walks. I did get in trouble for singing in class a few times, but humming is something I do to calm down and also when I'm happy, like stimming I guess, but I just hum or sing. The best thing about not having classes right now, is listening to whatever I want!

I didn't expect to see Sarah from WOTE with you today! I've been following them for years now. They are great in concert if you ever get the chance to see them.

I've been watching some of your old videos because I have Aspergers Syndrome and I always ask my friends if I need to ask someone. Before I actually asked my friends to ask my parents.

    Hi Dan,
I am ecstatic for this video :) I have been a fan of walk off the earth since 2012, it at times was my biggest obsession. I have seen them live 3 times and love their music.
I have been following you, Dan, for quit some time as well and love the videos and education and awareness you spread over autism and mental health.
Thanks for making my favourite collab ever and helping me figure out how to better handle my autism and mental health in general.
    Lots of love from Alex

I don't like functioning lables either. It also pisses me off if someone determines wether a person's autism is mild, or severe by how noticable it is. That's not the determining factor. You can have very obvious stimms, and be terribly bad at eye contact, yet your autism causes you fewer problems, than someone with subtle stimms who dosn't mind eye contact. So what I like to do instead is call someone's autism more, or less visible/obvious than someone else's.
Also, it makes my rediculously happy, that Sarah has the same mug as me.

Do you have any tips on studying for class? I'm in college and have Aspergers. I've been trying many study habits and tricks. However non seem to stick. Really have trouble writing down what why brain thinks. Meaning I know how to do this but it won't transfer to paper. That's been really frusterating

I have nothing with music, KISS is the only band I really really like. Metallica, Rammstein and Foo Fighters are also nice. But don't dream about watching them. I tried the guitar, but it doesn't feel like a part of me. Paul Stanley of KISS said that you don't choose to play music
