I like this recording more than the one where they’re all outside, I feel like it’s a little easier to hear all the other parts. And William hits some awesome licks
@jacoblabounty2836 I agree. Also enjoy the soloist being so incredibly energetic in that one. Makes it seem like the instrument is actually and extention of himself.
I don't know why this style isn't more well-known - often called shout bands, they're almost always from the United House of Prayer, a church big in certain pockets of the east coast, an especially around D.C. The timbre they get out of trombones is just insane!
Right...my sons' great grandmother (their mother's grandmother) had a United House of Prayer funeral and it was my first time attending any services at the United House of Prayer...the band was amazing...they could have sold tickets for the musical performance.
Black and Blues has always been my fav fanfare, lit up my eyes during my first show band performance! and this is my first time hearing trombones carry the melody 😳 the soul of the bouncing bassline, the screaming trumpets 🎺 mellophones alternate harmony, trombones wailing, woodwinds pushin to fill the empty space with beautiful chords, maaaan this what you call GOOD ENERGY 😂
My god as a high school trombonist who by the way is alone with only one other trombone; I feel so left out seeing this. I wish I could just pull of licks this hard but my situation never lets me experience this. Respect to them.
The difference between marching band and concert band for brass players is so apparent with the two videos of this song on this channel haha. Both have their good points but the marching band will always be my favorite. Nothing like completely emptying your lungs into some screamin’ high notes with your boys at a football game to hype the crowd up
Everyone: Wow this is sick! Experienced Trombonists: Wow this is sick, I'm gonna learn this! Intermediate Trombonists: Wow this is sick, I'm gonna learn this. No I'm not, because LEDGER LINES. Beginner Trombonists: OH WOW!! CAN I LEARN THIS ON THIS? Halfway to Intermediate Trombonists: Well, if that's professionalism, I'm [Bb for redaction].
Yeah...that man is 5 lines above the staff...there aren't many trombonists that have chops for that. It is hard enough to get 1 line above the staff for a beginner and even intermediate trombonists struggle to get 3 lines above the staff.

Hold on, let them cook...

tough for me, watching the rest of the bands' reactions makes the lesser quality audio worth it imo
@jacoblabounty2836 I agree. Also enjoy the soloist being so incredibly energetic in that one. Makes it seem like the instrument is actually and extention of himself.
Love 'em both, but for me the fact that he's making that much sound over a full band and from that far away is just mind blowing
Okay, fine, I'll watch it for the millionth time.
The best one is when they’re practising in what looks like a big sports hall. It’s low quality but I think William really hits the riffs well.
Their energy is unreal, the way they all are all bouncing together
But isnt that the camera who bounces?
@amosegel2510 they also move and bop, they really feel the solo
no, they def bouncin@@amosegel2510

its almost unmistakable. shout out to Irvin and Nathaniel Sr. from the Richmond house. my home house. 2004 MDW was one to remember

The timbre is almost vocal, that's crazy
If you cant hum a tune, or sing, you can't play an instrument the way its ment to be played
Some say trombones are the closest to human voice
@@SuperFreshTheArtistpretty elitist but okay
Like a Teddy Pendergrast or Luther Vandross! same range!
@@SuperFreshTheArtist not really at all
god, william bilal is so talented. they all make black and blues sound so perfect.
i had the honor of playing this solo while i was in high school, always felt amazing doing it!
I honestly hope I get to as well
Me as well
Solos insane but I would just like to point out how the backgrounds are so in tune and in tone, they are insane.
😚 6 trombone accompaniment is sooo fine !
I love how vibrant the audience is too!! This is an EXPERIENCE
The outdoor version is one of my favorite recordings in general. Glad there’s another one now.
Once the audience starts cheering during a brass performance, it’s an infinite loop of making each other more hype
I like the outdoors version better. All of the passion in him is released in that spur of the moment, you can just feel it.
Have you seen the high school one? Homeboy was in the ZONE
That vibratro is insanely clean
holy crap, this is the closest i've ever heard a trombone to sounding like a tenor sax

Love the audience's energy
The happy little hopping is not only adorable, it also helps keep time. Incredible sound and well deserving of the hype!
William Bilal makes his triumphant return to the channel
wait its the people movng not the camera???
They probably keeping time
they're the final boss before you can rank up to conductor, and the screams at the end are right before their final blow
Yes! I've loved this solo for so long now, and even played it myself. He gets so much energy and emotion in those notes, it's insane.

Also playing the trombone, was running around my room moving my imaginary slide. This is incredible.
“you can’t make a trombone sing twice”
Some of the best time I’ve heard on a trombone in my life.
might be the first time i’ve heard a trill not sound corny and actually sounds amazing
That last lick 🥵
I saw sassy in my google feed and knew it was gonna be good. Didn't think it'd be this damn good, mercy! Really miss my trombone right about now
I've listened to this 3 times throughout today and I can't get enough. So damn good
This is some amazing playing, but the way theyre all bouncing in unison is hilarious to me
Talent, Passion, Support.... how can you not FEEL this vid!
the camera motion is impecable
respect for playing this many high notes on trombone
Even as a concert trombonist, I feel like this is impossible to play
the original of this was my favorite video on the channel and this one is even better. the hype is even bigger and the recording is more clear
I love raw footage like this- really captures the moment :)
Best kind of music - let everyone be involved. The crowd makes them better.
I bought a trombone after hearing these kids wail
bro went all out and killed this
genuinely gave me the chills
Wow! Super technical mastery and super tight as a group.
Where is William Bilal now…he needs his own channel 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
love dat 12/8 groove

As a trombonist I am quite impressed 😂
im so stoked you’ve done this clip
@0:44 "Eh!" lol
Your quality is always improving
Love the energy
Call it what you want, more people are willing to pay him to play than most 💯 This man just started something
shout out to the House Of Prayer in SC
The sass is strong with this one
Bro that dudes range is nuts
pls transcribe the whole thing, it sound magical!
how is this so fire
Sounds really good.
This is my new hyperfixation
lmao i lecit died
Super good!! Any chance you and your app could do the underlying harmonies? Pretty sure some "tailgate" arrangers would put it to use!
Hell yeah! Sweet and sexy Jazz. Good job, kids.
the legend has returned
I love this. I would die to hear this in person.
sick.
love it
the sassiest trombone gang
Had to watch this 3 times❤
This is why I love being a trombonist 🕺💃
Feel for the homie on the far right who never had a opportunity to change notes!
I wish I could actually here this for once, but everytime theres screaming people.
My ND brain finds it hard to filter that out.
havent you uploaded a different performance of this piece before?
Yup! But this one is slightly different rhythmically and note wise
Lore accurate hbcu band
At some point, it was easier for me to watch his slide positions on the shaky cam than read above the staff
If they don't play this at my funeral I'm not going.
theyre all bouncing in unison like they in a rhythm game
When I saw this video for the first time it inspired me to play trombone
Evolved Diglet
TROMBONES!
Nice...!
all trombonists should try and be like them.
All try...nearly all fail.
i saw a video of this in discord where theyre in the stadium

Where can I find more stuff like this?
Look up United House Of Prayer or Shout Bands. Or the Fairfield High School version these guys did in high school.

this sheet music should be in treble clef 💀
I wish I could do that
