That first harvester looks pretty modern until you realise that today's harvesters run with headers that are two to three times as wide as the one shown. Also today's units have super cabs filled with all sorts of gizmos and touch screens, gps and air con, you name it they have it. This machine does however remind me of the Matchbox toy I had as a kid which was possibly modelled on this or a similar unit.
jd 975 vas my favorit,, have the forvard /back in the clutch pedal..until i got a clayson/n-h 8050..it make a better vork..and is as strong and simpel as the john deer..but just get the job better and farster done..
that looked like a 7700 JD but it only had a 20 ft header on it when it could have had a 40 ft if it was a 7700 it was in the early 70s when it came out
Nostalgic for days gone by harvesting our grains with our John Deere Diesel combine and repairing it ourselves.

It was common in the early 70's for header widths to be 10 or 12 feet wide. From memory only the MF 760 could take a 14 foot header.
John Deere 55 Round back model had a 14 foot front. Early 60s.
Nice combines, That JD 975 has had a lovely looking paint job. 😁
