I've been using mine for 6 months, a few times a week rock crawling, I don't bash it only to get up rocks. Nothing has broken, I am running 1x9 wheels and tires so it scrapes more. Saving up for super swampers on danchee stock rims. Life is good.
Very interested in how the new motors work out for you. I've been thinking about new motors for my Ridgerock as well. Looking forward to the run video. Thanks for sharing.
Yeah me too I hope they're better than the stocks if not I'm thinking about getting the housing 3d printed but where I can fit a 540 brushed motor. Thanks my friend and thanks for watching 👍
@NM Rc great idea. I put an RC4WD dig unit in my Ridgerck and like that feature. My main issue with the truck is the torque lag between the front and rear axles.
Thanks my friend and thanks for watching redcat just came out with one that has portal axles with motor on axle and everything I don't think it's four wheel steering but it might I would definitely look into that cuz it comes with metal gears is what I've heard so far on it
@@jeremyts9032they are referring to the Ridge Runner by Redcat. And it has MOA, Portal Axles, 4WS, Dig, and it uses a truck body. Comes in red or blue for 40 bucks more than the ridgerock i believe.
Hey buddy great video. FYI I have seen other ppl on TH-cam put their opened hand behind a small object in order to get the camera to focus on something small.
I'm thinking of trying to put Tamiya Clodbuster axles with spools, and shorter gear ratios. Don't know if the combo REC/ESC could take 540 high turn mod brushed motors or not.
I think it might because I ran 3s lipo on it in stock from but you never know till you try it good luck hope it works out for you. Thanks my friend and thanks for watching 👍
@@nmrc7778 I just got the ridgerock and put automobile wheel weights in the stock bead locks and some softer tires. Next is the ballpoint pen spring hack.
So what are the stats for the stock motors that come in this? 380 @ ? I've got the 2.0 proline hyrax 5.75 tires, so I definitely need to upgrade my motors, and probably gear down a little. (and *maybe* go to metal gears?) But I'm new to this so I have no idea what motor look for that will work with what I have and still give me a noticeable increase in torque so that rear motor is not bogging down all the time. So is there any chance you can help me by telling me what I need to look for in gears for gear reduction, and motor swap?
Yes they're 380 size motors they already run a small pinion the smallest you can run because the motor can not be moved on the motor mount inside and also they do not make metal gears for it the aftermarket isn't really there for these rigs not unless you have a 3d printer or can make cast of stock stuff to make metal or a machine to make the parts and etc with
@@nmrc7778 I know that there are some parts from other crawlers that will fit it I just don't know what specifically those crawlers are. What do you think the chances are that there's another crawler out there with the same gears, but they are metal?
@@mrfixitusa6165 very well could be but that's just the question what crawler I know there's another brand that made the same rig but I don't know if their metal gears in it or not

Yup agreed same issue even with the aftermarket esc's it still does it so that's why I hope these aftermarket motors do the trick
Definitely keep an eye 👁 on the pin in your hub! Will take out your cup. Experienced lol
Fun rigs to customize. Have4ofthem
I am getting one. But I like to learn about what I get before I purchase. Can't wait to watch your other vids .

Sorry, i know said you run 3s.
I just have to confirm you run 3s on the stock 7.4 esc?
And no problems at all?
@@tomlucasrccrawlers9108 I 💯 percent used a 3s lipo on the stock esc
