Very capable! Danchee is out here doing big things. I have a Ridgerock. I believe Danchee said it was splash resistant not water proof. But itl looks fine and still working. Great video as always Evan.
Glad you have taken an interest into crawlers recently. I started watching you when I got back into rcs bashers is what I thought I was into but quickly learned crawlers are where it is at for me. I'm deep now lol
Thanks! Yes I Definitely have fun with all sides of the hobby. Street cars are super cool too! The low stress of crawling is awesome where you’re not as likely to break anything lol
Man I’ve used this a lot more since this video. A simple tire change makes this incredibly capable. It’s so good!! I have another vid in the works for it comparing to another similar model.
Nice review. I just picked one up. Changing the tires made a huge difference. I'm curious if it'll run on 3s without any problems? I have ALOT of small 2200mAh 3s batteries. And was wondering if anyone has tries the Holmes Hobbies CrawlMaster Sport 380 Brushed Electric Motor (18T) [HHB110100127] motors?
I thought the truck performed very well with the tires on it. I think with some better tires it would be even better. As you said, the creek was no problem for it. You didn't mention anything that broke. I agree it would be a lot fun for this just starting out. A lot of people get into a hobby and then find it's not for them. With this truck they can get into and if they change their mind, they haven't broken the bank. I was surprised that it had all the features for the price. You gave it a good test and it appears you and the boys had fun.
I completely agree! Ya there were no breaks at all. Still seemed to work fine after the creek. Can’t wait to try a few upgrades. We definitely had fun!
@@DerbyCityRC I emailed Redcat and asked if it is waterproof. This is the answer I received, "it is water resistant, just don't submerge, and you will be good to go!"
@michaeldorich4485 lol mine got maybe 30% submerged. I meant to pop the portal gear covers back off and check cuz I bet they’re rusty lol. So far it still rolls easily! Thanks for emailing them!
These are the ones I typically use: amzn.to/4bzPzvN Some cars you have to drill the center of the wheel to 5mm and sometimes you even have to drill the center of these spacers to 5mm. Depends on the car, but I will say I’ve only tried them on the 1/14 hypergos. So I imagine it will work.
Hey I'm a Newby to hobby grade RC cars and I have something to ask I just got a Haiboxing 16890A and it came with 2 1050 man batteries it says Lithium ion on the batteries are they as Dangerous to store as the lipo batteries are ?? Do I need a battery bag to store them in ?? My cell phone and small power banks have Lithium ion batteries and I don't But anyone stores there cell phone in a Protective bag !! I know it's a dumb thing to ask but is it OK if I store the Lithium ion batteries in a plastic toll box along with the Controler and Spare parts ??
Ya the lithium ion batteries, to my knowledge, are safer. I’d still practice as many safety precautions as possible though. The batteries get banged around in the car sometimes and damage can make them unstable.
@DerbyCityRC I'm not going to be doing what you do to the cars In you're videos lol lol so is it OK to store them in a plastic tool box along with the Controler and other parts that I got with the car ? Or do I need to store them in a battery bag like the lipo batteries ?
It’s pretty similar. Ridge rock also has bigger tires so they have roughly the same ground clearance. Plus curvier suspension links. I’ve actually got a video filmed comparing the two I’m hoping will come out in a couple weeks.
That rig DESPERATELY needs lighter shock fluid and some tire weights on the front. The lighter fluid will help the springs apply more downward pressure to the ground and the weights in the front wheels will help with cresting ridges and give more front traction bite. Just those 2 things will DRAMATICALLY change the way it traverses the rocks.
It's a sweet entry level rig, praised by other crawler channels out there 👍 I wanted to hate on the dual motor design, but it's actually pretty smart with this application and I know there are some higher end rigs that use the dual motor setup. I'm getting a boat next though!🚤
They’re different trucks. This one has a bit more scale to it. The banshee is designed much more like a rock crawler and can flex much more. I don’t own one but I have a friend that has one. Eventually I’ll do an actual comparison but this one I believe has a few more features if I remember right, looks and acts a bit more scale, but the banshee is probably overall more capable if I were to guess.
@@DerbyCityRC thanks for the quick reply! I still am having a hard time deciding lmao. Now I'm thinking if I want more of a scale model or the capability of the ridgerock
Okay, so here's a ridiculous question. And it's only ridiculous because it might actually not be as asinine as you would think. Is this truck ambidextrous? With motors in the front & back, AND 4WS, is there really a front and back of this truck? I mean, in theory, you could just put the body on, change the steering mode, reverse the throttle, and it's good to go, right?? I do love the features of this truck, along with the price point of it. Good highlight video!
So close! But the bumper sticks out further in the back and won’t let the front of the body down all the way. If you lift the body high enough, then you can. I was not impressed than I thought I would be! Thanks!
It definitely was ultra moist! Thanks!!! Yes water definitely would have as the axles were easily fully submerged, but I didn’t open them to see. Still work though!
'That was easy!' best quote of the day 😅 Preformed WAY better then I thought. Great entry level model for sure
Max is a beast! I agree!

Awesome I can't wait. Huge fan!@@DerbyCityRC
@aaronbryant9908 thanks!! 😃
Should be in the mail today! If Redcat could figure out a brushless edition of the Danchee models that would be insane!
I’ve been wanting a 1/10 scale crawler and this looks like a great budget friendly option! Great video as always!
It definitely is. Thanks!!
You always do such a nice job. Awesome truck. Super simple design that works well. 👍
Always appreciate it man!!
Thanks! 😊

@DerbyCityRC yo bro please bring another video on the Armma Vortex 3s blx upgrade s 😅
The vorteks is so good out of the box 😆
What upgrades should I do to it?

Thanks!! I try my best! 😂
@@DerbyCityRC I know that's why they're good
Looks like a ftx ravine / danchee ridgerock / t2m pirate swinger ?
Similar to the ridgerock but I believe suspension is different, tires are bigger on the rock, and body of course. Not sure about the others
one of my 1st rc and only crawler ive owned is is the danchee ridge rock
Got a buddy that has a ridge rock. Gonna do a crawler comparison video soon and he’s gonna bring his along!
@DerbyCityRC Please I'm dying to know should I get the ridgerunner or ridgerock
I know this is random, but can you recommend a wheel spacer for the hyper 816 BM?

Is it basically the ridge rock with portal axles and frame rails?
It’s pretty similar. Ridge rock also has bigger tires so they have roughly the same ground clearance. Plus curvier suspension links. I’ve actually got a video filmed comparing the two I’m hoping will come out in a couple weeks.
@@DerbyCityRC will watch for it
And or is it worth putting in the spacers for more stability?
That rig DESPERATELY needs lighter shock fluid and some tire weights on the front.
The lighter fluid will help the springs apply more downward pressure to the ground and the weights in the front wheels will help with cresting ridges and give more front traction bite.

Another killer video bro
Thanks!!
Hopefully those locations not a far drive away, RC a good excuse to go out with the family!
Nope it’s at a local park! Definitely will be more!
Wish it came with better tires, other that quite impressive
I agree that’s the biggest drawback. I’ll test some other tires soon!
Is this worth getting over the Banshee Ridgerock which is like 35 dollars less?

If it's fully waterproof then I'll throw my money at it
Supposedly it’s only rated as splash proof

Looks like a bottom of the rung under $100 crawler ....$169 forget it!
Fitting for the current economy unfortunately. Maybe $100 in 2019 lol
Any new videos of the Ridgerunner?
Not yet. Video waiting to be edited. A few more in the pipeline first probably.
