    They look good, I did a similar thing to my UK version, the FTX Ravine. But Axial parts are expensive, in my opinion. Specially for use on a budget crawler.
    No need to buy branded ones. You could use 6mm (1/4") ally tube and 4mm threaded rod from a hardware store, plus some generic 4mm/3mm threaded ball pivot ends from a hobby shop. I'm lucky to have a miniature lathe at home and used 6mm solid ally rod, and drilled and tapped the threads myself, but the dimensions all work out the same.
    What I did. (hope you don't mind cpac)(😁)
    The original links measure about 135mm (5.32") between the pivot centres. So that's your final-ish dimension to aim for (you can adjust it nearer the end). My pivot ends are 14mm from the hole centre to the threaded end, 135 minus 28 gives 107mm, then minus another 10mm to leave some exposed threaded rod, means 97 final length for the metal to be cut. A bit longer if you're using a lathe, so you can finish the length on that.
    The best thing to do now is to wind a nut onto the rod before you cut it, then wind the nut off again to clean out the thread.
    Cut four pieces of threaded rod to 30mm long, clean up the ends with a needle file or abrasive paper, or whatever you have. Keep testing it with the nut as you'll need it to cut it's own thread into the pivot end.
    Lock two nuts together onto one end of each threaded rod piece, and used that to screw the rod into the plastic pivot end. If they aren't already pre threaded, it'll be pretty hard to do. once each thread has hit the bottom, wind it back just two turns, to leave adjustability. Then unlock and remove the nuts.
    If you're using a lathe, finish the lengths of the links and drill and tap you threads about 20mm deep, you can increase it later if needs be, but before you bend the links, obviously!
    Work out where you want to bend your links, I did mine half way, but the Axial ones are about 2/3 from one end. If you're using tubes, bend them over a larger round bar, or something metal. If you just bend then in a vice, you'll likely just kink them and they'll be weak. Just do one and screw the pivot ends in and check it on the truck, ifit looks reasonable, do the others. If you bend it too much, you'll shorten the wheelbase. Not enough and it'll be longer and not gain so much ground clearance.
    You should end up with a 3mm ish gap of thread between each component. I decided that was best, as it lets me adjust the wheelbase a little if I want.
    Once you're happy with the links, use a tiny drip of superglue, or threadlock, off a pin or something, to secure the threads metal to metal. That's to leave adjustability.
    Job done.
    (if I missed anything, feel free to comment.)

    Thank you very much for the contribution! How about the quality of the danchee's stock electronics? are redcat batteries and chargers durable? can we put another variator? will we have complications to do it? how big are the motors? in case of failure of the receiver or transmitter ... can we replace it with other brands?

    Thanks for the input! How about the duration and quality of the variator? and the batteries? I had a bad experience with a hexfly charger ... (I hope I'm wrong) and the truth is that I am also skeptical that for $ 110 dollars I can get a lot of fun from stock, without having to replace any part quickly ... as with wl toys . .. I find it hard to believe that for what it costs the servos or variator (control receiver) are not defective .... if I wanted to place another transmitter and variator ... which would be a good option.

    • @cpac97
      @cpac97  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is a 100 dollar RC . so that being said not the best quility stuff out there. I use Zee batteries and re solder traxxas plug on them so all my batteries are the same. Also I use a dynamite charger.. The servos i changed out instantly with 30kg servos from Amazon. The motors are 380 size. I know people have swapped them but I havent personally.

      I run a 2200mAh 11.1v 20C 3s battery with no problems so far. the weak link is definitely the plastic gears. i really wish redcat would make a metal set. i also wish that there were some aftermarket motor on axle (MOA) options in 2021. Any moa axles that i can find are discontinued or out of stock
