We currently have three CEYOMUR wildlife cameras and are delighted with them all. Each has a different design and different features making them suitable for a wide range of uses. This CEYOMUR CY55 is the basic entry level camera from the range and ideal as a first camera for a user who isn't sure whether there is wildlife activity in their area but is keen to find out at minimal cost. It is also ideal for security for monitoring prowlers due to its invisible no-glow LEDs.
The camera is sturdily built with some of the best and strongest clips I've seen on wildlife cameras and they're easy to use in cold wet weather with chilly fingers - something some designers overlook. Set-up is also easy with a highly intuitive menu in multiple languages and a colour screen which allows for accurate camera placement and testing followed by playback of recorded images and video. The two PIRs are activated by animal/bird/person movement which triggers the camera to record either video, still images or even both daylight and dark conditions.
The camera is powered by 8 x AA batteries which allow several months of typical usage before the batteries need to be changed, even when using rechargeable batteries. Alternatively, there is the option of using a DC power supply (not included).
The camera can either stand on its base, a tripod, use the supplied mounting bracket to fix to a wall, fence or other surface or simply strap it around a tree where the green camouflage pattern ensures it blends well into outdoor foliage. This is the ideal camera for use in a public area because, not only does the camera camouflage but the LEDs don't have the usual giveaway red or blue glow of other cameras, advertising to passers-by that the camera is in place and hence being at risk of theft. This also makes it useful for placing in areas to monitor prowlers or intruders because the invisible 'no-glow' LEDs don't give away its presence.
We use the camera at home for keeping an eye on wildlife in our garden including hedgehogs, the occasional fox, a one-off polecat and an unwanted rat. On our woodland meadow, in addition to the expected rabbits, mice and squirrels, we've seen deer, fox, badger, wild boar - which previously were not known to be in this area so has been quite a local highlight. On another occasion we caught an unwelcome trespasser showing that we need to improve our security. For further security at home, the camera can also be useful for monitoring unsupervised tradespeople to check whether they wander around the property, peer into cupboards or to confirm any suspicions of unscrupulous behaviour.
This CEYOMUR CY55 is a good, very low-budget basic wildlife or outdoor camera and provides good performance for its bargain price.
Ceyomur offer a wildlife camera for every user: for the best picture and video quality and longer-term unattended usage via 128GB SD cards, then the CY70 camera offers up to 2.7K video at 30fps in MP4 format. The CY65 camera offers 1296P 30fps video in MP4 format along with the added benefits of Bluetooth and WiFi which allows images to be monitored and downloaded remotely via a phone app without disturbing the camera or retrieving its up-to 128GB SD card. A good all-round low-budget camera is the CY60 with 24MP and video up to 1080P, 15fps in AVI format. For a more basic entry level camera then Ceyomur offer the CY55 20MP, 1080P camera with lower picture quality but the benefit of black LEDs, rather than red, making it ideal for avoiding detection by humans.
