Dr Adel Bondok Anatomy Teaching Videos. It describes the gluteal muscles and the lateral rotators of the hip. It also describes the iliotibial tract and the greater and lesser sciatic foramina.
Thank so much. Your lectures have been valuable to us. Here in kampala international university Uganda everyone watches ur vedios. They are really helpful.
As always, great lecture - concise and to the point. Your lectures have been invaluable in my study for surgical part 1 exams. I'd just like to mention that in some textbooks, waddling gait is also referred to as positive Trendelenburg sign.
The obturator internus muscle originates from margin of the obturator foramen and from the pelvic surface of the obturator membrane. The superior gemellus arises from the outer (gluteal) surface of the ischial spine. The inferior gemellus arises from the upper part of the ischial tuberosity.
Sir I'm very confused about later /medial rotation of hip joint and knee joint,I tried to Google it but the reference pictures made me confused even more ,sir please clear this confusion of mine 😢
@Zeus_xoxo89927 Medial rotation of the leg (knee joint) is performed mainly by the muscles on the medial side of the knee: Semitendinosus, semimembranosus, sartorial and gracilis. Lateral rotation of the leg (knee) is performed by only one muscle (biceps femoris).
@@AdelBondok thank you sir but can you please look into this video where he's showing the medial and lateral rotation of the hip joint th-cam.com/video/O7em0DqVjn0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=-1nrcM1ZN_EjgxEG. It's different than the lateral rotation that you showed at 11:25 ,or are they both the same thing,sir please clear this one thing to me ,I'll be really thankful ❤
The pelvis is stabilized by the action of the gluteus medius and minimums of the 2 sides. If you raise your right leg, the pelvis will be tilted to the right. The left gluteus mediums and minimums will contract to pull the pelvis back to the left side and prevent its tilting.
Your videos have made me pass my exams with good marks, thank you Doc and best wishes ❤

You are always welcome ❤️. What is wrong with the tensor fasciae latae?
Sir what are the origins of the obturator internus and the gemelli?

The superior gemellus arises from the outer (gluteal) surface of the ischial spine.

Sir I'm very confused about later /medial rotation of hip joint and knee joint,I tried to Google it but the reference pictures made me confused even more ,sir please clear this confusion of mine 😢
In very simple words:
@ Rotation of the hip joint is rotation of the femur.
@ Rotation of the knee joint is rotation of the tibia
@Zeus_xoxo89927
Medial rotation of the leg (knee joint) is performed mainly by the muscles on the medial side of the knee:
Semitendinosus, semimembranosus, sartorial and gracilis.
Lateral rotation of the leg (knee) is performed by only one muscle (biceps femoris).
@Zeus_xoxo89927
See the hip joint video for its movements.

@Zeus_xoxo89927
The video is correct. It is almost the same.
Lateral rotation = external rotation.
Medial rotation = internal rotation.

I couldn't understand the waddling gait, tilting and how the abduction of gluteus medius and minnimus stabilizes the hip.
The pelvis is stabilized by the action of the gluteus medius and minimums of the 2 sides. If you raise your right leg, the pelvis will be tilted to the right. The left gluteus mediums and minimums will contract to pull the pelvis back to the left side and prevent its tilting.
