I'm having a blast with it.
I only have (4) LIPOs to use in this Plane but (4) more are on the way ;-)
I think I have approx. 20 flights on it so far.

I'm so glad I discovered those this year as they are a blast!

What a fantastic little jet. I really really hope you convert it to prop pusher one day as I think that would take it to a whole new level.
Any plans on taking the CE back out again soon... on 4S? ;)

    • @GroundControlRC
      @GroundControlRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Paul!
That is a very fun little Jet.
I may get the Kit and put a pusher prop in it.
I think your right, it would have much more power and much longer flight times.
I'm surprised at how stable and maneuverable it is.
I've been working on the CE the past couple of evenings.
It's just about ready to launch again.
I cut (2) 2mm x 2mm x 400mm channels on the outside of the fuselage and embedded 2mm carbon rod on both sides.
This adds support from the plastic cowling in the front to just past where the back of the wings attach.
I think it looks pretty good as it blends in with the black lines on the decals.
I know you recommended some reinforcement so I didn't want to take a chance on breaking the nose off landing on that rough terrain ;-)
I also increased the control surface deflection on the Ailerons, Elevator, and especially the Rudder.
I think this setup may be Golden on my next Test Session.
Then I'll be adding some flaps ;-)
I've read some post of people having the stock prop assembly flying apart on 4S?
I know the stock assembly has a plastic cross mount.
I ordered a metal alloy spinner assembly, hopefully it will fit.
      It's a 38mm spinner with a 4mm shaft mount and 2.3mm prop mounts.
I read the stock spinner is 38mm with a 4mm shaft mount but I wasn't sure of the prop mount diameter.
Once I get a solid spinner and cross mount on it I'll be putting a 4S in it ;-)
Are you running the stock props on 4S?
I was going to see if I could find a set of 9x4 props for 4S.
      I believe the stock props are 9.5 x 4.5?

It would seem that ducted fans are getting more efficient. That, or the F-86 was just under-powered.

    • @GroundControlRC
      @GroundControlRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว

I think that F-86 was so under-powered it would barely fly at 5700' ASL.
That plus the fact they didn't provide enough airflow to the EDF.
It has the same size and kv Motor as the Eachine F16 50mm EDF, a 2627 KV4500 Motor.
They tried to turn a 64mm Fan by cutting down the number of blades to 5.
They should have had a larger motor and a 10-12 blade fan on that F-86.
Then it would have flown well on a 3S.
      What a shame.
It will be a long time before I even consider another FreeWing EDF.

Time to try to drag u into the 21st century. U have one of the most powerful radios around ( programmability and telemetry). I use FrSKY accst protocol with this system you can get a reading of battery voltage thru the battery charging plug, u can also see with a current sensor for in flight motor draw and there are sensors available (GPS) for relative speed and distance. All this Info can be stored on ur radio and transfered to computer....and this is just scratching the surface...

      Hi Mick!
      I'll definitely check those out.
I just flew my Nanotech 4S 1600mah 70C LIPOs for the 1st time yesterday.
I'm going to be acquiring more 4S LIPOs this year.

Their 4s 1800 70c runs around $24+ ship. I just got couple 1500 100c and man I can tell big difference from the 55c and 70c I usually fly. Flight time is a little shorter but who cares, this plane rips!

@@michaelmickoberhaus8009 Thanks for that info Mick!
I'm probably going to look into those 4S 1800mah LIPOs as I think at my altitude that's about as large as I'll be able to fly with.

I have not built mine yet so any advice at all would be great and very helpful - I watch Petrincic Bros RC and they had a problem in that it would not fly for more than a minutes - they thought the ESC was not powerful enough ?? - I would live to know you views on this.... as I said any additional information on top of what you have kindly already provided at all would be great - such as battery you are using, location of battery - is the CG in the document provided correct - so I have so many quesitons.. but I must say she looks really steady and at home with you... Great Flying - thanks

    • @GroundControlRC
      @GroundControlRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hey FlankerTanker!
      I use a Turnigy 3S 1300mah 30C LIPO (106g)
I do have some Nanotech 3S 1500mah 35C LIPOs (129g) on the way that I will test in this Jet.
I have the Plane at a Neutral Balance at the Mid-point of the recommended CG.
Where you place your LIPO will depend on the weight.
At Full Throttle, in a static position, it was pulling approx. 28.5 amps.
If it's a decent 30A ESC it should be able to handle that just fine as I'm only at Full Throttle for 4-5 seconds at a time the way I fly.
I've had no issues with the stock ESC.
I fly at 5700' Above Sea Level, over a Mile up, so if you're close to Sea Level your performance should be better than mine.
If I didn't have to worry about traffic coming through when my timer has elapsed I would set my timer for 3 1/2 minutes and leave 3.6v per cell in the LIPO.
      I'm hoping the 3S 1500mah 35C LIPOs will give me 4 - 4 1/2 minutes.
I post my Setup & Model Files for my Aircraft on our Facebook Page.
If you scroll down a few post you'll find the Setup & Model Files for this F-16.
That Setup is not Golden but will provide a setup for a successful Maiden Flight.
I'm Golden on my Setup now and will be updating those Files this week.
      I hope that helps ;-)
It's an awesome little EDF Jet and I love flying it ;-)
      See you in the Air!

    Hello nice review.
I just saw that Eachine have released a mini BF109 based on the F4U and P51 format. Are planning a review of this one soon ?

      Thank you much!
I saw that plane and it looks very nice indeed.
Unfortunately, I don't think I will be sent that one for review but I will be receiving the XK P40 Warhawk which is very similar to the other Micro Warbirds.
I've enjoyed every one of those I've flown so far so I don't think either the BF109 or the P40 will disappoint ;-)
