"Would I Lie To You" is a MUST; her vocals are stunning on this one. "Here Comes The Rain Again" is also fabulous, and their 2nd highest chart topper after Sweet Dreams. Their hits are definitely an integral part of the soundtracks that define the mid 80's!

The Eurythmics were definitely the high water mark of the first artists on MTV- the songs were great, and the videos were groundbreaking.
"Here Comes The Rain Again", "Love Is A Stranger", "Sweet Dreams", "Would I Lie To You?", "Right By Your Side", "There Must Be An Angel (Playing With My Heart)", "Who's That Girl?", "This City Never Sleeps" (if you want something REALLY moody). Annie Lennox's voice and Dave Stewart's arrangements and guitar playing were way ahead of the curve compared to other British new wave bands at the time.
And if you really want to hear a battle of the divas, check out the duet Annie Lennox did with Aretha Franklin (called, fittingly enough, "Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves").

I gotta put in a good word for "Would I Lie To You". Like I said in a separate comment, you've just got to wonder at that voice coming out of a wee Lassie frae Aberdeen Scotland (Not Washington state where Kurt Cobain was from). I was raised in Ayrshire on the west coast, Aberdeen is over on the east coast of the North Sea - from where we lived I could ride my bike to the sea shore and on the (rare) clear day your could see the Mull of Kintyre that Paul McCartney sang about.

She's one of Annie's big inspirations (along with David Bowie), and her live rendition of Sting's "Demolition Man" (which was written for her) is the STUFF. OF. LEGENDS. Annie Lennox is a treasure, and a powerhouse. After leaving Dave Stewart she went on to an even better solo career, including "Why", her cover of the Bob Marley classic "Waiting in Vain", and, with another heavy harmonica riff, "It's a Thin Line Between Love and Hate", which might be the definitive version of the song, originally recorded by the R&B group The Persuaders in 1971 and then by the English group, The Pretenders, featuring Chrissie Hynde, in the Eighties.

Was wondering when you'd get back to some Annie Lennox! This was a fierce song (and it used stop-motion animation for the video much like Peter Gabriel's "Sledgehammer), like most Eurythmics' stuff. "Love is a Stranger" is a great song, as is "Here Comes the Rain Again". Annie Lennox also had some awesome solo hits... "Little Bird" has a badass riff. Actually, I would recommend "Little Bird" for your next one... the video is as fierce as it comes, and she did it when she was pregnant with her second child. There is a zero percent chance you won't go nuts for it.

Yes ✨💕🤘🏼 I love all things Eurythmics and Annie Lennox! At some point you guys absolutely have to watch her live Grammy performance, she is still rocking it today with that Same bad ass attitude that we all love so much…. And guys, for some really great harmonica you’ve got to check out BLUES TRAVELER, John Popper is amazing, especially live 🌌💙

I agree with everything you said, but especially about John Popper. "100 Years" is an incredible song with great harmonica that never got the attention it deserved.

"Missionary Man" earned Eurythmics a 1986 Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal.[1] The video received heavy airplay on MTV and received five nominations at the 1987 MTV Video Music Awards.

Eurythmics - "There Must Be an Angel (Playing with my Heart) is a must reaction. Much different features of Annie Lennox voice. You wouldn't call it a "Banger" because it is not hard. It's energetic throughout but it is much softer and melodic and includes an incredible harmonica solo by Stevie Wonder near the end. Songs like Missionary Man feature her lower register. "There Must Be an Angel" features her entire range. The fact that she appears angelic, in the video, complete with Angels wings, is almost a complete opposite of Missonary Man and just exhibits the range the Eurythmics could achieve. After seeing "There Must Be an Angel" you'll still be wondering who Annie Lennox is because you can't put her in a convenient box. She does a great cover of Bob Marley's - "Waiting In Vain" also under her name, not the Eurythmics thou.
"There Must Be an Angel" was a chart topper, #1 in many countries, in on heavy rotation on MTV.

Annie is amazing! Suggestion for Female Friday: You must check out Siouxsie and The Banshees! This band was originally associated with the punk movement but evolved into one of the most influential bands of the post-punk era. Siouxsie Sue, the lead singer, is mesmerizing, dynamic, and has an amazing voice. I recommend starting with Cities in Dust. It's a song about the city of Pompeii that was destroyed when Mt. Vesuvius erupted, engulfing it in ash and flame. I think you will find it a departure from anything you've listened to before.

You want to see her strut? You've GOT to watch Would I Lie to You? That's a jam.
Here Comes the Rain Again, Who's that Girl, Love is a Stranger, Don't Ask Me Why.
Why and her version of I Put a Spell on You are some of her solo hits. The woman is FIERCE!!! That was a bunch of stop-motion camera movements to make it very quirky cool. Peter Gabriel's Sledghammer is another one that uses stop-motion and it's awesome!
