The thing with Arkham knight, is that for some reason, the city didn't have that atmosphere like City or origins, and the plot twist of Jason being the Arkham Knight, is pretty much disappointing, I feel Prometheus or even Deathstroke would fit more portraying that identity.
I can't really see Prometheus or Deathstroke using a secret identity just to take Batman on to be honest. Plus, Jason made the Arkham Knight character compelling because he knew Batman secrets and tricks so you would need another character that can do the same. The only disappointment i have with the character overall is that the Knight's knowledge of Batman didn't translate very well to the gameplay because the militia guys were just slightly harder to beat compared to normal thugs instead of posing a good threat.
@@marcelosoares7148 I believe another character that could've fit the role of the Arkham Knight is one massively underutilized in all of Batman media, and would even tie back to Hugo Strange & Protocol 10; that being D.A.V.E., the AI villain built by Hugo Strange. Arkham Knight to me never felt like was a part of the same universe as Asylum and City. Everything in that game felt different, the art style, the atmosphere, aesthetic and Gotham. Gotham was way more bright and colorful than the Gotham from previous games, resembling Batman Forever Gotham. And everything looked more cyberpunkish with the overindulgence of high technology instead of more gothic and grounded like before. The Batman is build different and most characters too, and i think the high tech suits helps that look. Even Origins, which has a completely different art style, has a more Arkham feel than Knight
That's what I always thought that at some level since I played the game. Asylum, City, even Origins (to a lesser extent) feel like extensions of gothic, dark deco architecture of BTAS with a Gotham made up of a comically tall skylines, intersecting highways, and a "colored" aura emitting from the city's silhouette. Even the portrayals of the characters, the more comic-looking gadgets, and classic non-armored grey & black Batsuits. Yeah, when I started doing them more in my last playthroughs and I was like I should use them more. Agreed. And I was thinking the same thing while watching the video. Sure, they made the combat & animations smoother & more seamless with less opportunity for "stops" than in the previous games, but they also made it feel more weightless with less punch and it brings more attention to something noted about the free-flow combat in the series which is that it makes Batman feel like a ballerina jumping cross the room.
