I saw the Cranberries in 1996. In Wallingford CT. I was 16 yrs old going with my best friend Dan Kaminski.. his mom drove us on our map quest directions.. they weren't great.. be finally found the place.. felt like the middle of the woods.. Oakdale theater was the name.. I just recalled. Collective soul opened for them.. gel was playing when we walked up the stairs. Finding our amazing seats.. the show was great.. she was barefoot the entire time. But they didn't play dreams.. then an encore.. but they didn't play dreams.. I refused to leave.. 15 mins went by. I stood up in disbelief ready to leave the show in tears.. two steps out if the aisle.. I heard the cord.. quickly we went back to our spot and the crowd rushed back in.. as dreams finally played best concert ever!! RIP Beautiful Woman

I’ve gone down the rabbit hole of Tiny Desk Concerts. This one is the best. The charm if actually feeling like they just showed up and were asked to bring out guitars is amazing. The production feels dated, but it makes it so charming . They just look happy playing their songs. It is so rock n roll. They took the request to play Zombie, and obviously didn’t plan on playing it but did it anyway.

    • @dr_redbanRL

As a young man in the 90s I was in awe of this beautiful woman, with her amazing voice that exuded so much of what would lead me to Irish singers and music before her. She is for me a legend without a doubt.

I had been going down a Cranberries rabbit hole on my drives home the past few months. Never really listened beyond my commute, discovered this on TH-cam and had no idea she had passed away in 2018 until I got to the comments section. Rest in peace, Dolores really is the voice of a generation. Thank you to her and The Cranberries for such beautiful, sincere and such heart felt music.
Watching this whole thing with a bit of a tear in my eye now, and will probably every time I listen to their music from now on.

I've been watching cranberries videos tonight on different channels, and there are a ton of Portuguese comments that I can't read, so I believe that it's a thing. I think that's pretty cool that great music like this can pull at hearts of people equally from across oceans with different cultures.

Robert Burr strangely Robert that wailing of the voice is actually a quiet common trait of Irish women singers. I think it comes from the style of Irish traditional music .

2023 now and Delores's voice is the closest thing I have ever heard to the sound of magic. Her spirit, her energy, her quirks, her inflections, . It is crystal clear she was blessed with greatness. A genius in her time. Something REAL special. She could sail away on the tears that were shed from her passing. Burning so bright, a beacon in the night, you can feel her light and you can tell something is right.
