Good work ! I've not done that one yet, been putting it off...! Did a non Parkrun event there a few years ago, remember the hills being brutal ! If you fancy a beautiful but mainly flat one, try the Darlington South Park parkrun, did it today and it's a lovely place to run around, highly recommend it.
Definitely get yourself here, but be prepared!! Yes Darlington is on our to do list, I'm sure we'll get there soon. I used to live in Darlo before my parkrun days so I know South Park pretty well
Those hills are challenging, but it's 1 of my favourite Northeast parkruns. If you want a good challenge. get along to a wild deer trail run events at the woods. Well done to you both on your first visit👏👏
Well done Rich and Paula. I have been avoiding this Parkrun like the plague, and this vid doesn't really persuade me to do it haha. Not a hill fan at all. Will defo give it a go at some point though. Good running to both of you 🙂
@@DeeJay_78 yeah we have been putting it off but then thought, 'well it can't be that bad!' It was, but it is a lovely route. Just don't expect a fast time! The middle downhill bit is great and (almost) makes up for the hills
I'm glad you enjoyed the Parkrun at Chopwell Wood, you do sometimes see wild deer walking around, but no one mentioned seeing them this week. I did mention the hills in the First Timers briefing this week, they are a challenge but you do get used to them if you run them regularly, honest. It would be great to see you at Chopwell again soon.
@@MIKECHENDERSON1 wow wild deer would have been amazing. I was caught out by the first hill as I'd set off too fast and it disrupted my rhythm but I'll pace it better next time and save a bit for that last hill! Such an enjoyable route though and I appreciated it more when I'd picked my lungs back up in the cafe!

Thank you. It was tough but a lovely route. We'll definitely go back more prepared. We're doing a Wild Deer event next weekend!
@@abitrich68 Aghh the Tommy run, they put on great events. Enjoy and I look forward to the video😁
@@Marc-hy8sc yeah Tommy Run. We're only doing the 5k this time as I'm running a 10k at Town Moor the week after
