clip012 Im so sorry :( After such a long time, its so hard they knew so much about you, events that happend bonded you, dreams built together, etc etc. The pain is not comparable to other relationships, and you will sort of look for that person in others. It will take such a long time to get used to. But I can promise, once you get over it, you are no longer affected, the pain somehow disappears, and you will find a strength you never knew. You can love again but this time, you will love deeper. Focus on your mistakes, improve them. Take the time to see things from a different perspective. Turn to Knowledge to better yourself. What is a mature person? When is it ok to be angry? If youre a believer in God, turn to Him. I did. Sometimes, my past comes back unexpectedely, randomly, but it doesnt leave me in pain. I just see how much i have changed and i know that person cannot hurt me anymore. Life has taken me in another direction. It took me a solid year and half to finally be free from suffering. I was left. I was broken. And I rebuild myself. Mostly alone. You can too. I wrote this to you, so you know you are not alone, and what youre going through you will overcome maybe not today, maybe in a year or 2. But you will and you choose who you become. You choose how the pain molds you. I wish you the best and wait for you to one day be free like many of us.

This is why I quit being a wedding photographer after 10 years. Half my couples kept getting divorced, and I spent a lot of time with them and their stories of love. Then I’d hear their stories of falling out of love. Over time I thought my job was becoming pointless, then I slowly begin to hate it, hate the wedding days. And no couple deserves that. The last straw was when one of my cards malfunctioned and the couple wanted to sue me because I lost like 10 minutes of their precious day. Fast forward to now, they are divorced. So I guess I don’t have to feel guilty anymore.
Present day… i shoot real estate, and it pays the bills! No drama with couples and their families. A much better fit for me. 😊

Sometimes people divorce when there is no longer any connection. That means no physical, mental or emotional connection. By the way a divorce is a decision made by both partners in the end. They both still love each other and they always will. Just not in the same way they used to. So please don't take sides on this. It's not like she was in an abusive relationship.
From the little we know about the situation I have to agree. She is clearly in love with him and upset by the whole experience. He’s come back for support after the divorce because she’s still loyal and seems an absolute gem of a human being.

Im not fully with you. I don’t think they should hate each other or that she should spend the rest for her life resenting him. That’s not a healthy mind set to have and I think as long as both people have moved on, yes, they can still be good friends. Sadly, in this video you can see she still clearly hasn’t moved on and at times like these I do condone complete separation. Friendship can’t work if you hide your emotions.
I wouldn't say Wasted, I've been in Relationships that didn't work out but I wouldn't say they was wasted years, We had Fun and Great Times and I truly loved some of them just because I didn't end up being with them Forever doesn't mean it was Wasted.

I know she wants to respect her memories, her past, her ex, and her former marriage but I hope she learns what is a healthy distance to keep from him. He gave up on the marriage, and on her, and she has no obligation to tend to his emotional needs. He seems to be using her as an emotional crutch. If they wish to remain in each other's lives, they need to establish clear boundaries around emotional intimacy for both of their sakes. Honestly I am surprised they are divorced. It seems like they should have called a marriage counselor, not a divorce lawyer.

I so agree. Complete No Contact is the ONLY way she will truly heal and move on, day by day, little by little. The more you stick with No Contact, promising to yourself to NEVER break it under any circumstances unless you have kids together, the less your heart will hurt, and the less you want to be around your ex (think of your ex like a cocaine addiction - cocaine is not good for your body, being around your ex is in most cases not good for you, you'll get hooked on them, anxiety and sadness will consume you,band who wants that?).

As men were told not to show emotion but when we're brave enough to show them we get made fun of by society, men and women. Men are better at hiding their emotions because that's what society taught. One way men deal with their emotions is drown them in alcohol. And he moved away and drank until he moved back and needed help. I wouldn't say he didn't care.
What really stands out to me is that when he proposed to her he said, "I want to spend the rest of my life with you" and then later divorced her instead of working to fix whatever was wrong in the relationship. Lots of people say the words, "I want to spend the rest of my life with you" when they should really add "as long as I feel like it" or "as long as you're still attractive to me" or whatever because that is what is really in their heart that they aren't saying. They both seem like really sincere people who care for each other but I think she cares more. He threw her a curve ball and it doesn't seem like she did anything to warrant it - now she's left with all of the emotions to deal with. I don't think it's healthy for her to try to maintain a friendship with him because she seems to still love him and would reconcile if he wanted to. If there's no chance of him sincerely wanting to reconcile and stay with her, I think she should move on and find new people. Seeing the date of this video, hopefully she has by now.

And I was totally fine with it until my bf's ex made a massive month-long drama out of his new relationship. Now the three of us struggle so much because none of us wants to hurt the other but is still hurt themselves. So as a piece of advice: it's okay to stay friends but get prepared for a shitload of tears and mistrust if only one of the three of you can't handle the situation.
