Fun Fact: When F1 changet the Point System from 10 Points to 25 Points, the F1 Racing Magazine counted all old WC from 1950 back. What would happend if it would be 25 Points from the beginning of F1.
And they found out, Prost would be the only 7x WC, while Senna would be only 1x and Schumacher at least 5x.
True. Prost lost several titles due the point system or due some other very minor aspect.
That’s why it’s hard to compare racing between eras.
Or you could change the points system in five years time and award 25points for pole and 50 race win and 18 second and 16 third and senna would win all driver championships and bullshit and bullshit. Stop crying over the half point and best of 11 era Graham hill lost a title like prost by the same system 20years earlier yet no one brings that up. Prost was beat by the rules of f1 at the time its fair and square. Change the rules for 99 season back to old 9points for a win and eddie finishes joint on points with mika. Its pointless Bullshit prost fanboys use to justify him as the best instead of the gutless frog he was and at the end of the day his history and achievements have been soured by his political antics and his cheating underhanded tactics and his constant crying after what he did and his false allegations against honda , senna and McLaren yeah spin the points system anyway you want it but it doesn't change he's a rat.
@@mishalg9837 its prost fan boys that go on about the best of eleven series mot anyone else. Prost isn't that great just look at the records and top tens and you'll find alot of his short comings as a driver compared to others and you'll find that opening spill on him pretty miss leading

1) At the time of Tooned 50, Lauda (and Hamilton, as a matter of fact) were employed by Mercedes, so all they could do was little references.
2) Uhhhh, Piquet never raced with McLaren? He raced with Brabham, Williams, Lotus and Benetton.
okay, didn't know that. Although thank you for clarifying that, even though Piquet sadly tarnished his own image with lack of character and while I understand they did used Lauda and Hamilton as little references, but let's not forget Hamilton won his first championship with McLaren while Lauda in 1984, he won his third championship with McLaren as well. So I was just wondering why not a McLaren tooned episode about Niki Lauda?

The situation came to a head at Monza were Alain was almost 2 seconds slower in qualifying - an outrageous turn of events and indeed if you watch the race just look at Prost on the start/finish straight totally helpless...while Senna powres away at the front - the difference in power is clear for all to see and also take a look at Mexico from 89 and you'll also witness a huge disparity in power between the two Mclarens. Honda were determined that Ayrton would be WDC after all Prost was off

+GhostsKuriboh personal opinion. Everyone is free to enjoy this wonderful sport as they wish. Mansell was the driver that got me excited about F1. We can all argue about who the best is and yes the argument can be made that there are better drivers but he's still my personal favorite.

Nice to hear Dallas GP mentioned, it was my first F1 race. Alain also hit the wall hard during practice at turn one & got airborne.

One thing I love about these cartoons are the little jokes on brand names. Like Mondieu instead of Marlboro or Goodtyre instead of Goodyear. It was kind of meta to watch this after the Korean Grand Prix where Checo blew a tire. Maybe somebody had the idea to give him a lighter tire too like Prof. M.
I got a mclaren ad before this
Never:
- replace a tire with a thin one
- change into a lightweight gearbox
- "recalibrate" the whole engine
Oh, yeah? Well, how did that work out for Prost? Clearly it didn't work for him. Only to beset him with an engine failure, a tire blowout and gearbox failure. And he even lost the '84 championship to his teammate Niki Lauda by just half a point.
@@kevingarcia6368 The best (or maybe worst xd) part about that is the 1984 Monaco grand prix. With the race reaching the end of the first half, Prost, which was the leader, was desperately waving for the race to be red flagged and ended because of a heavy rain falling on top of the circuit, which also gave rookie driver Ayrton Senna on his debut year a chance to fight for a podium and maybe even overtake Prost and win the race. Prost's request was accepted and the race was red flagged and ended prematurely, but the worst part is that only half of the points were awarded because of that. If Prost didn't ask for the race to be red flagged, even if Senna passed him at the end and won the race, he would still have more points than Lauda at the end of the season and consequently five world titles nowadays XD

And prefers to go cool early, maximum attack later. Playing mind games to the ones in front of Prost, then find the opportunity to strike & overtake.

At Estoril Prost received a new chassis thanks to his complaints and took an easy pole and walked off with the race - same again at Spain. Into 89 the disparity became more pronounced - Senna' qualifying times increased by 100% over Prost...and Alain hardly ever had a shot of winnig a race on merit - a total turnaround from the previous season - Honda and Macca knew early on that Alain would not be with the team in 1990 - which coincided with a noticeable swing to Ayrton in performance..
I started watching during the Schumacher Ferrari years, so I do not know how it was.. but the old videos help

The Chess is not realistic. Alain had his second tower in a direct chance to strike so he would have had to say chess so that Prof. Could move his Kibg out of the danger zone. But technically he was already in chess matte as soon as the tower got moved to it's position. Alain didn't even had to kill Profs Tower, because the two horses already did the work.

a really good way to tell the story of Senna, is putting Alain to tell it, nobody is better than him to do this right!? At senna's death Alain was his friend, we can see in senna's Funeral, Alain's eyes full of tears... i'll away remeber that look that they share.... the best RIVALS EVER!

I'm not a fan of Vettel but I love both Senna and Prost. The greatest rivalry in F1 in my opinion (there were some other great clashes) Great champion and a man with a hairstyle like that...he demands respect!

Then there was in the previous episode, with Lautfinger, which was great. Now we have the year Alain Prost lost the World Title to Niki.
I almost want to see the Ayrton Senna Story as a callback to the structure of the bulk of the episodes in the first Tooned season, with Senna and Prost acting like Button and Hamilton/Perez, respectively. You'd get to acknowledge their fierce competitiveness with one another without it getting ugly and get to set up a gag where, say, Professor M remembers Senna as an absolute saint but then is reminded of all the chaos he and Prost raised in their tenure.
Too bad we have only half the voices...
