Great journey - did this in August 1980 whilst Interailing across Europe - remember arriving in Narvik to find the Youth Hostel had burned down so we slept on a park bench - oh to be 17 again! Passing the great open cast works at Kiruna and getting to Lulea and seeing the Northern Lights for the first time and picking blueberries in the woods!
The noise in the cab sounds like John Candy's character in Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, where he blows through his nostrils. Stunning scenery but a lonely life for the driver.
Thanks for this excellent video. I can only guess that you left Narvik around 3 in the morning somewhere around the end of April. I can't account for the sun's position any other way. The mounting-building exercise around Pueravarra is certainlly impressive, as is the condition of the track. Really fascinating trip!
I’m enjoying the ride and the soothing scenery. There is a slight screeching sound so I have to reduce the sound-messing with that on the rails relaxing hum. Snow on the ride are the best!
I wonder what that "parseltongue" sound all through the video is? Is it a conversation, you've tried to silence? Great journey though, Beautiful landscapes.
I somehow didn't catch the name of the yard with the HUGE red brick building that seemingly has a yard supervisor office on top, a bit before the border.
@@SwedishRailcam ok, you don't have the locomotive number? Many Re482 locomotives that were of the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB Cargo) are now in service for that company. P.S. Re482 is the Swiss registration and Br185 is the German registration for the same locomotive (Traxx F140 AC1 and AC2,)

That sounds like a wonderful memory!!!! 😊
Things couldn't be like that this day and age, sadly.

9:40 That's quite an impressive bridge they have there!

Went from Stockholm to Kiruna a couple of years ago, great trip on the night train.❤
Amazing! Where do you live?😊
Älskar den här sträckan!! Tack!
Roligt att du uppskattar det! Tack för supporten😉

Tack så mycket! 😃
Bonne vidéo merci pour ce voyage Norvège-Suède
Thank you for watching!😊
Vary good ride and the view is outstanding.
Thank you! 😃
Awesome video. I've been to the arctic circle once (in Alaska) and assumed there was always snow in the circle. Guess I was wrong.
Thank you! 😃
If you travel on a cab ride from Trondheim to Bodo, you'll see magnificent amounts of snow. Now that's a trip worth doing!
Thank you for the support☺️

Lovely! 👍

GREAT TRIP THANK U
Thank you! 😃
According to Google Maps Pitkäjärvi is in Finland. What route did the train take after it had entered Sweden?
Let me guess: a nice ride with the sympathic woman Anna again... how awesome is that ?
vilken vacker film tusen tack reino halmstad
Tack så mycket Reino! 😃
In which season (month) was this video recorded? I assume that in the depths of winter there is less daylight and there is also much more snow.
Nice Ride!
Thank you! 😃
Perjalanan yang menyenangkan...
Thank you
I wonder, on the Norwegian part, are the signals/security systems used from Norway or Sweden? As there are no trains from Norway coming there.
Thank you for your question! Norway take care of the signals and system on the Norwegian part😊
Snow begins at 11:08 ⛄️

Hi, Nice video!
Are you driving? Is this a Re 482?
Thank you! 😃 Think they are more like Br185s
@@SwedishRailcam ok, you don't have the locomotive number?

Is 60km/t toppspeed?? And is 68 carriers the most??
At about 38 minutes in, there's an announcement that says "RFB, RFB". What's RFB?
Sounds to me like the train driver is having breathing difficulties - or is that sound caused by something on the locomotive itself?
Warning: there is a raccoon ripping strips off the driver's seat.
😂
So are the TRAXX locomotive replacing or supplementing the IORE double locomotives that normally run this line.
The TRAXX locomotives are used on a separate line from the IOREs and by a separate company.
Why didn't the driver sound the horn at 55:03?
What is that tunnel like structures for ?
Maybe for emergency extreme weather ?
It’s there to prevent avalanches😊
With that much power you should have no troubles
Indeed 😁
I've seen this somewhere before.
maybe RAILCOWGIRL??????

Has there been ANY accidents on These train tracks?
Plenty. There was a major derailing of a fully loaded train only a few weeks ago.
Yes that’s correct. But it’s rare😊
Looks like an arctic fox at 1:23:06
I wish it was. That's a red fox. The red fox is taking over the arctic fox's territory, because of the climate change, and they are bigger.
Yes that’s correct😊
Wow, I'm looking forward to this so much. Greetings from Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. 926’41”S 14708’40”E

FROM THIS END I WOULD SAY U NEED NEW HEAD LIGHTS
On some Norwegian cab rides, we travelled through multiple pitch black tunnels.
Going from somewhere to nowhere!

1:23:06. Fox?
DOES ANY ONE KNOW THE DISTANCE BETWEEN POLES, MAYBE 150 FT
Think its almost 200ft on the lines and 165ft at stations.
It even seems too cold for excessive graffiti
Yes that’s true!
Cute girl at the beginning.

I couldn't live in that environment. I was born in a temperate climate area and still live there. I am only 67, I don't think I could adjust. 🥶🦞🏖🏳🌈
We agree with you 🏳🌈
