    Just recently my bfs family got this vacuum, it replaced the eufy 11s max, and is picking up so much extra dog hair and dirt that we couldnt even see, when we let it in the room it filled up well over 10 times, but we chose to manually empty it instead of waste the vacuum bag and have it return to the main base in the other part of the house, great little robot

    Are the dual rollers that much better at cleaning carpet compared to others? I'm still deciding between the Costco i4 and the Wyze vacuum. I'm having trouble deciding between lidar no-go zone mapping and carpet cleaning ability.

  • @rubenrar1
    @rubenrar1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I like the i-3 vacuum and it looks legit but I guess you could say that robot vacuums are good for when you're at school or work but if you're at home with the vacuum, it probably just be faster if you did it so maybe it's just for the convenience factor

    Hey Nate, does the i3+ have carpet identification? And so you can use the self-emptying bin from the i3 for the i7 only or the s9 as well?

    • @RobotMasters
      @RobotMasters  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The I7 and i3 are nearly identical, I haven't tried to swap out self emptying bins. The S9 self emptying bin won't work because tye extractor port in a different location. All roomba models to my knowledge including the i3 don't have carpet identification aka boost suction if they recognized carpet.

    • @SmartRobotReviews
      @SmartRobotReviews 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RobotMasters you just ruined everything I knew about the Roombas :) I though the i7+ and s9+ do have this feature but figured only the Roomba 980 does. So the i7+ adjusts suction on dirty areas only, am I right?

    • @RobotMasters
      @RobotMasters  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Smart Robot Reviews No the i7+ only has one power level and it can't change. Only the s9+ has multiple power levels. It doesn't change power levels just performs a short back and forth pattern to concentrate on dirt. I didn't realize the iRobot 980 had a carpet boost function 😮

    I have a small apartment, with hardwood and a carpet. No pets/kids.

    • @RobotMasters
      @RobotMasters  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmm I would go with the i3+ based on your Floorplan, now since you have a smaller area you could possibly save some money by getting a model without the self emptying bin. A random navigating robot like the roomba e5 goes over the area multiple times, good for small apartments amzn.to/3o3iE9t

    Will the i3 function normally if it's activated on a floor or room without the charging station present? For example, i want to let it run at night while i'm asleep but I don't want it to enter my bedroom so i would close the door. If i lock the roomba in the bedroom during the day and turn it on with the top button, will it vacuum the room normally and then turn itself off again when it's done? Or will the missing charging station cause an issue?

    Would you recommend the i3+ (Robot and base) over the 960. $399 and $299 respectively black friday week.

    • @RobotMasters
      @RobotMasters  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      At $399 for the i3+ I think it probably one of the best buys and value. The self emptying system is the same system as the more expensive Roombas and use the same cleaning system that found on the i6, i7 and i8. I like the 960 and one thing that the 960 has over the i3 is the camera system. Allows the robot reposition itself in real time. Both models have static mapping and No special mapping features like Room select and keep out zones.

    • @pacificdrum0301
      @pacificdrum0301 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RobotMasters Hmm well I bought a 675 last week for 179. but I def need some kind of mapping as it got stuck in a weird spot and the bin is quite small after 2 self pauses (filled up, i don't really vacuum lol). I need it to cover my whole house without issues so any kind of mapping sounds nice IMO.
      So knowing that the i3+ has a self emptying for $399 sounds like a steal but I'm worried bout navigation since it doesn't have a camera like the 960. I'm not exactly sure how the I3 detects objects other than bumpers.. Any major differences? I don't need per room clean, I just need it to map the house and vacuum everything.
      Edit: I have a cat and tile floors so I think both are a big upgrade from 675 as i noticed it didnt pick up some hair.

    • @RobotMasters
      @RobotMasters  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pacificdrum0301 As long as you don't physically move the robot or change the environment while it cleaning the robot will have no issues covering all the areas. It uses Gyros and accelerometers to estimate where it cleaned and where it needs to clean.

    • @pacificdrum0301
      @pacificdrum0301 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah I see. So the only benefit to the 960 would be the camera for "sensing around it" I assume the I3 and 960 function similarly for mapping.

    • @RobotMasters
      @RobotMasters  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @RobotMasters
      @RobotMasters  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No on the robot, there are 3 buttons, a spot button to allow the robot to concentrate on a small area. The Larger middle button allows you to have the robot clean and you can stop the robot too. Lastly the return to home button can tell the robot to return to the empty station. You can in theory use the i3 without ever using the smart phone.

    Hello, I have a question. I have a house 130m2, a dog, carpets and consider to buy one of 3 robots: roomba( still don't know which model, maybe 980 or i7) , Xiaomi Roborock S5 Max or Xiaomi Viomi V3. The last two are cheaper and I heard great opinions about them however I can see you are an expert and I would appreciate your help in your free time :) thanks.

    • @RobotMasters
      @RobotMasters  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      My best option would be the Roomba i7+ amzn.to/34fk48L
      Because you mention having pets. Does well with pet hair. My other option would be the S5 Max amzn.to/2Ggttoz
      The S5 Max offers the best value and performance. Has the ability to mop too so could help pick up the fine dust and hair from your pet. I haven't personally tried the V3 only the V2. While the robot vacuum itself is good, the support and accessories is not as good as the Roborock or I7. The roomba 980 a good option too just won't get smart mapping features.
