      How long have you had the side brush? You could try removing the screw and see if anything got caught in between the body and side brush. Also try rotating the plastic shaft where the side brush mounts to. See if there any squeaking noise. If not you could try replacing the side brush and see if that helps.

      It take me about 1 to 2 minutes to vacuum with an upright vs the sleeping robot (not on its dock) i guess it got tired of spinning in circles and left the crumbs for a midnight snack while it snoops through the house making a mess. It cleans as good as my fingers picking up dust. Id rather an upright with a full canister that doesnt have to be dumped 10 times before it can hal clean 1 room. Imagine leaving home only to find it couldnt finish cleaning because your self emptying canisters bag was full.. And the way to empty is very unsanitary. U have to literally jug the dirt and dust out of the bag for it only to be released into the air😱😱😫

    I have two cleaning robots. The Sharp self emptying and a very old Neato D80. There are pros and cons to both. I love the self-emptying feature of Sharp, but the app keeps losing the mapping of my house which is annoying. It also takes a long time to clean. The Neato is faster due to the LIDAR sensor. This old Neato has broken down twice on me, but fortunately I was able to fix it myself. The first issue was with the bumper detection switches. They broke so the Neato would try to keep going when something was in the way. It was 5 years old so I bought the new Neato D7. I used it once a week to clean and after 57 weeks (right after the warranty expired) this $900 robot broke. The LIDAR sensor motherboard went on it. The cost to repair? $500. Insanity. So that went into the recycling bin and I’d never buy the newer Neato models. Quality is gone. It’s a shame because they work the best as far as navigation and cleaning goes, but they cost a lot and do not last. So my old Neato is now 8 years old and I repaired it by buying new bumper switches and installing them myself. After 3 months it broke again. This time it was complaining about being jammed in even when there were no walls near it. Using a flashlight I noticed the laser was spinning slowly and erratically. I guessed it was the rubber o-ring from the motor was likely worn out. I bought a new one for $15 and now it’s working again. Not sure for how much longer. I’m hoping to get a year out of it.
    Thank you for these videos. I love seeing the differences between the machines. When I go to make my next purchase I’ll have a better idea of which one to get. Hopefully the Roomba lasts longer than 13 months before breaking down. One hates to pay $1,000 for something that does not last past the end of the warranty. We complain about plastic bags and waste, but this in my mind is sheer pollution building cheap electronics that most people can’t fix themselves. The government should be clamping down on companies building low quality products.

    • @RobotMasters
      @RobotMasters  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for sharing, I had an older Neato D80, the one that look like the same of NES game console. Had it for a few years without issues. One thing I noticed is in environments with a lot chair legs the robot can get confused. I tried the D7, had similar navigation quirks but love the cleaning ability overall. Hopefully Neato comes out with a new model.

    • @ds99
      @ds99 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Robot Masters If they do, I hope they build it more rugged than the D7. I live alone and only have hardwood flooring and tiles. My house stays very clean so once a week with the robot is all I need. To clean up such a little bit of dust I would expect these machines to last 5 years minimum. They should not be breaking so fast. Before I’d buy another Neato I’d need to know if they started building them with better parts.
      Thanks again. I always enjoy your videos and love the messes you make for your tests. 😃

    I just bought my very first Roomba yesterday so I’m a newbie at all of this. I got the i1 with the self dispensing. Does it have mapping capabilities? I can’t find the answer anywhere and you seem very knowledgeable about them.

    • @RobotMasters
      @RobotMasters  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, so the i1 as of now doesn’t have the smart mapping features like the Room Select and Keep out zones. The robot uses an internal map that can be used to see where the robot has cleaned and not cleaned. As of now the user can’t edit the map. On the plus side iRobot does have a beta testing feature through the version through the App that going to allow users to have room select aka specify a specific room to clean.

    Luckily you have multiple robots next to each other, so you're house must be pretty clean, do they all run dry on batteries after 2 years?

    • @RobotMasters
      @RobotMasters  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well the batteries typically last 3-5 years depending on how often you run the robot. Since most the robots have an auto recharge and resume feature, a decrease in battery performance might not be a big deal as long as the robot can complete the job.

    • @juriaanoussoren
      @juriaanoussoren 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RobotMasters yeah that's why I ask it, I have a a320 robot with 2 imperial logos on it 😉But my battery is for the second time broke... like dead. I own an Oreck U2000RB-1 commercial 8 pound upright cord vacuum that has a 6,500 rpm motor and it could pick up all those Orbeez in just a minute or two and the bag would still not be full. That over size Hockey puck just doesn't have the power or big enough canister size like an upright vacuum has.

  • @denverdanoreno

    • @RobotMasters
