I had the privilege of being at that show! I've seen him live 7 times. If you ever have the opportunity I would totally recommend going! You won't be disappointed!

I had never heard of Buckethead and he randomly came to a bar in Syracuse and I went with a friend and I couldn't believe what I was watching. He was shredding for 45 minutes straight

He talked about this performance on Natter Net. Every year, he creates some music in remembrance to his Aunt Suzie, one of the most important people in his life. This performance was shortly after the 5-year anniversary of her passing, and he spent the last few weeks thinking about her and how fast time passed, playing all those songs A LOT. It made him really emotional, and that all came out in this rendition of the song he identifies with her the most.
Every life performance is different. And this one was one for the ages. The tears...

Best guitarist in the world. He had 500+ albums and many of them SOOOO good, that is amazing, how anyone knows about him. Listen to his "Pikes" series, they are soooo good.

Just to add, I like emotional guitarists, not shredders who show their skills going up and down the neck with added special effects. Goes nowhere for me.

Probably one of the BIGGEST MUSICIANS and BEST INSTRUMENTALISTS of our generation... I don't think anybody can nail so many songs in a row while not being able to properly look at the fret, walking around, adjusting equipment, and giving people toys and throwing dance moves... with an electric guitar. I also don't think many people in the world will have half of the time this man has in the studio and stage, and so many "special" songs to display... 500+ fully produced albums from a very young age. HONESTLY, I don't think many people will spend as much time doing anything, as this man has spent with this guitar and a recording studio.
Songs such as Soothslayer and Wondering REALLY leave a mark after you hear it for the first time, like Dancing in the Snow and so so so many others... I'll not start, just scroll through his 400+ pikes, chose a random one, and I'm SURE at least ONE SONG will fit to your liking - even if you like jazz, or reggae... SOMETHING will meet you right in the core!

    Bucket is truly something unique.
He is his own genre, a true virtuoso, but indifferent to fame or even really self promotion.
Seek out his pikes, there is a near never ending world of Buckethead that exists.

Somehow his vibrato and bends bring the 60's blues rock guitarists to mind.

Consider who he learned to play from and who he played with: Paul Gilbert, Bootsy Collins, Les Claypool, and Joey Tafolla. There's a lot of fusion classical, blues, and jazz influence in there.

Fun fact: he never plays it the same way twice. Watch his other Soothsayer videos and you will see that there are variations often quite dramatic. Also his guitar is custom made larger for his large hands

He shows up with his roadie and never talks to anyone. He has a place where he goes and no entrance except his engineer/roadie. If staff looks him in eyes or talks to him they are in trouble. He plays for over 2 hours solo. He leaves, No communication or chat. He has self published hundreds of DVDs and was with Guns N Roses for a few years. Ozzy Osbourne tried to hire him but Buckethead refused to remove the bucket from his head. Anyway,...

"I will watch the whole thing without stopping... I will talk a little bit". Cool, you continuously talked over a guitar master. It takes a lot of gall to sit in judgement of Buckethead. How do you judge a talent that you can't even come close to matching?
