I love Disneyland! Here on vacation! So much easier to navigate then all of Walt Disney, can actually cover all of the ground in 7 days, and I find it more affordable overall! Only have to pay for one Uber to and from the airport when you stay within the mile or so radius from the park! Thanks for thinking of us Disneyland lovers! 🎉❤
This is true. We are from California and have visited Disneyland countless times. We are currently at WDW. We noticed a huge difference. Disneyland is magical, the details are unmatched. You can feel Mr. Disney’s presence in the parks. It’s so charming and whimsical. Earthquakes are normal in California, no big deal. California’s weather is soooo much better too. Warm during the day and cool and crisp at night. Florida’s weather is hot and humid- think wet sauna 🥵. WDW is massive and probably not a good idea for babies or older people. At WDW, we noticed hundreds of people plopped over trying to catch their breath. The weather is no joke. We had a great time at Disney world, but we are so grateful for Disneyland in California. Nothing beats the size, the magic, the weather, and Mr. Disney’s original dream. Oh yeah, Disneyland is centrally located in Orange County too. The beach is only 30 minutes away. In, addition, LA is about 45 minutes away. There is so much to do in California During our WDW trip, we drove to 2 hours to Tampa/Clearwater. Yes, clearwater is gorgeous, I’ll give you that. We also went to cocoa beach- not so good. Kinda run down. In a nutshell, Disneyland is my pick. I hope this helps. Thank you for all the great info. PS yes!!! The churros are better in California. Florida’s moisture affects the crispness 🐭 🏰 🧚
I always think that Disneyland is my favorite because it started it all and is compact and adorable. I like that Small World is a stand alone ride with it's elaborate clock. When I use to go to Disneyland, last time in 1991, I always winged it since I like all the rides and was able to get on most of them.
Maybe not for Halloween, per say, but I'll be around there during the Halloween event, myself! Hopefully we can get tickets; I think we're gonna plan it a bit tomorrow since we'll all be in one spot and can actually do that without the risk of jobs getting in the way (aka, having to try a virtual chat).
Rule of thumb from a former CM... If fireworks and nightly extravaganzas are a huge deal, do not go WHILE SCHOOL IS IN SESSION. A lot of the reason nighttime shows go dark is because of Disneyland's extremely close proximity to the actual city of Anaheim, and as such Anaheim will curtail the noise issues for school nights by prohibiting the fireworks. The same issue occurs with Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park. So if fireworks are a BFD, then you'll have to deal with the additional crowds associated with weekends and school vacation periods.
I like the cozy comfy feel of the parks being so close to each other and the hotels at DLR over WDW, plus DLR is the only place with the Matterhorn. It's not the best roller Disney coaster, but has a lot of sentimental value for me, having done with my dad in the 70s, and my kids for the last 24 years. One think I'd like see them add, is a way to go between parks without having to go back to the park entrance. Maybe a people mover or gondola ride. It's been a while since either has been in Anaheim.
I really don't understand why people are surprised by the single rider lane preventing them from riding as a group, that's the point of it, it's for single riders. If they want to ride as a group, they should either use the regular lane or buy a lightning lane.
We were at Disney World on 9-11 with our nine children! Although the parks were immediately evacuated, one could not help but be impressed with the procedures Disney had in place. I clearly remember over the loud speakers hearing the park was being closed due to circumstances beyond their control, followed by announcing “Employees, Code B”! The evacuation was handled as calmly and professionally as possible. Unfortunately, we were evacuated again from the Fort Wilderness Cabins the next day due to the landfall of Hurricane Gabriela! What are the chances????
I’m so excited! I’m going to Disneyland in late July for the first time since I was a baby. I can’t wait to experience everything that I saw in pictures that my mom took ❤️ I am seeing fantasmic for the first time too! I’ve been watching Disneyland videos for tips and tricks
Southern California born and raised (and still here). Though Disneyland thankfully acts out of an abundance of caution, the magnitudes listed for this video are often not even noticeable unless you are very close to the epicenter. Earthquakes above a 5 can be something to pay attention to, but honestly, they don't hit very often.
I do have ti say this about Genie Plus at Disneyland, if you are coming with you family and want to do pictures its worth getting it for one person, that way you can use it for your picture day,. All your matching shirts, in front of the castle, the falcon, in you best bond. I usually do it for one day just for there pics and I am s single person. Because Disneyland photographers ROCK. I love to Batuu bound and gotten some AMAZING SHOTS from them. It is worth it for a family of 4 for one person to get it just for the pics.
I was just therefor the May "quake." We felt nothing and noticed no chamge in park operations or how any guests were behaving, LOL, although we heard hay some ride shut for inspection just to be safe. The biggest shock to me was that there are no inexpensive refills with souvenir popcorn 🍿 buckets.
I agree with your churro "hot take". DL\DCA churros are significantly better, better textural contrast (crispy outside velvety inside), more flavor options, and travel less after creation.
Personally, the thing most surprisingly to me, was the standby queue for Rise of the Resistance closes at 10:00 pm, even if the park is open until midnight. I did not think they did a good job of advertising this. We tend to get Genie+, because we spend one day doing both parks. It's so easy to park hop and while there are rides without Lightning Lane between both parks there are so many that have it. And unlike in FL, since so many people are locals who won't pay for it, you can actually use it a lot. If you're DVC there is an additional fee you need to pay for every day of your stay in a DVC unit in uncollected taxes and it is far higher than the amount collected at Aulani. The DVC lounge is also so much nicer than the one in Epcot.
Hey aj happy Tuesday ❤enjoy ur day I’ve never been to Disneyland for Halloween I really want to go and I also want to go for Christmas too that would be fun how much would it cost if I went for Halloween or Christmas 🎄?
I've seen you guys bring up the Genie+/Lightning Lane Multi Pass purchase at the time of tickets a few times, mentioning you can't pick and choose. This is technically correct, but would also be cool if you could also point out that just because you're going multiple days doesn't mean you're better off buying all the days at once. For example, I'm going to DLand + DCA next week, if I buy 2 days for 1 adult, no park hopper, no LL, for the days I'm going it costs $310. BUT, if I buy each day individually for the same dates, no park hopper, no LL, it costs a total of $208. They have a flat scaled price per day based on the number of days you buy if you buy 2+, but if you buy a single day dated pass you can pay whatever the going rate for that day is based on expected business for the day. When you individually buy tickets, you can save a boatload of money, AND then you can easily get Genie+/LL for whatever days/parks you want.
I LOVE that Fantasmic is finally back! About time. But why replace Murphy with a witch on a stick? Seems cheap given all of the time and cost involved in getting the show running again. It's a minor complaint but Disney, we're paying $120 a day to get in the park now. Let's have the spectacular.
Disneyland hotel is not across the street from Down Town Disney. It is right up against DTD. You leave the hotel proper & are immediately at the security for DTD.
Downtown Drive separates Disneyland Hotel from Downtown Disney. Typically, not too many cars on this street, so it can be easy to overlook, but it is a street.
with the possibility of Universal opening in Bedford , UK do you recon Disney would hate the idea f them not being in the uk and try to open a competing resort in the uk too?
The distance from Bedford to the Disney park in Europe is only about 350 miles. That's less than the distance from other places IN FLORIDA to Disney World. I'd expect them to open resorts in Texas and Australia before they even consider one in the UK.
The Quinjet Ride will come first sooner than later but sadly different than planned before so it still will come but more likely like the amazing spiderman ride and transformers ride like in Universal Studios maybe. But I doubt it will be running next year for the 70th but it will not be a cosmic rewind sorry AJ you have to forget that.
No way that it’s just Florida on the churro situation. There are lots of places in Florida with delicious churros including churros mania. If they can get it right for nomad lounge they can get it rights for the carts. Disney world churros are like eating cardboard
Disneyland has 4 WAV [wheelchair accessible vehicle] rides, California Adventure has 5. Each land has about 1 ride that is completely accessible, except for Batuu [0], Grizzly Peak [0], Toon Town[0], Carsland [0], Tomorrowland [2] and Pixar Pier [3]. There are also transferable rides which are more common and have specific Transfer & Load areas so that you don't have to worry about taking a long time to get on and off each ride. I'm a cast member at Midway Mania and Jessie's Carousel, both WAV rides, and cast members are very well trained to accommodate all guests. The main downside is that we can only accommodate 1 non-transferable wheelchair user at a time unless there is very high demand... in which case we can accommodate 2 at Mania. The best way to remediate this is to reach out to Disney directly and express disappointment [and even threaten to never return] at the lack of WAV rides--- honestly, a lot more rides could be WAVs that aren't. That being said, we get a lot of return WAV riders, even over the period of a long trip or our DL locals, and I've gotten to know several of our accessibility buddies pretty well. We love return guests, so we might just be able to give you a little extra magic.

We love Disneyland, too!!!!

I managed to ride every E ticket and most A tickets in one day
Compared to Disney World, Disneyland is quality over quantity
🗣️ FACTS - Land has all the ✨ Magic
And Disneyland itself has way more quantity over Magic Kingdom.

SoCal local(OC) - the earthquakes were barely felt. It really wasn't as serious as mentioned.
Disneyland is my home park as someone who was born and raised in CA and had AP for a while- it'll always have a soft spot for me.
🥰🥰🥰
Also if you go to Trader Sam's at Disneyland Hotel, next to it you can get Dole Whip outside of the park.
DFB throwing a bone to us left coast folks 😁

😂
Thank you dfb. Never been to disneyland & going there for Halloween. This helps 😅
Have so much fun!!
Halloween at Disneyland is the best! Have fun!
Maybe not for Halloween, per say, but I'll be around there during the Halloween event, myself! I will FOREVER be a Disneyland chick. I grew up there in the 70's and 80's and it is just so much better.
Right on !

The castle may be the smallest, one thing that should've been mentioned, the Disneyland castle is the ONLY one Walt has walked through himself!
Very true!!

the secret to the churros is where they are cooked! At Disneyland they’re cooked in an oven on the cart while Disney World cooks theirs in a kitchen

Another thing that may shock DL first timers: Park pass reservations are still a thing. It's driving me crazy. I'm hoping they do away with them soon.

The Little Mermaid ride does have Genie+ lane.
I was going to say the same thing. It was added a few months ago.
Disneyland is my home park and will always be my favorite Disney park in the world!
I was in Disneyland for a school event for three days. I rode almost every ride WITHOUT Genie+
My favorite park! 😍
I love Disneyland and Disney World equally . They both offer different atmospheres . Depending on how I feel sometimes I prefer DW , others DL.
I feel that!
I agree with your churro "hot take". DL\DCA churros are significantly better, better textural contrast (crispy outside velvety inside), more flavor options, and travel less after creation.
TBH, I’d probably eat any Disney churro - but Disneyland’s definitely taste superior to me! 🤣
Can you please discuss the changes to DAS? They’ve affected many already.

Smaller, yes, but you will still be doing 15,000+ steps a day! Wear good, broken-in shoes!!
💯
Disneyland has the homemade tigger tails 😋
Disneyland cooks their frozen churros at their stands, Disney worlds are made at the kitchen and sent out to the carts.

They should make a thrill rapunzel coaster where the track is her hair and it goes around and through her tower

Uh, yeah, there is SO MUCH to do at Disneyland vs WDW.
26:00 Disney tryna benefit the non resort staying guests more is crazy

It’s the Pixar Place hotel, not Pixar pier
The churros are better in Cali because Mexico is super close lol 🤷🏽♂️
Disneyland + DCA have almost as many rides as all the parks in Disney World combined. Let that sink in.
😂 It’s probably just Florida. 😂
😅😂
MEXICAN FOOD!? In that partion of California!?!? I AM SHOCKED! 🤡
First 😀
All disney churros are overrated
I love Disneyland to... it's the wonderful world of greed
Is it true that Disneyland has very few rides that allow a wheelchair user to stay in their chair?
Disneyland has 4 WAV [wheelchair accessible vehicle] rides, California Adventure has 5. If you enjoy crowds and skinny walkways even on non-crowded days Disneyland is for you. It was one and done for us.
i am an avid DFB viewer... but the disneyland stuff never excites me. maybe if they offered WDW Passholders a discount 🤔
Then don’t watch. Disneyland is my favorite park so I love these videos.
@robs.7293they used to have a premium bi coastal pass. Land is my home park but I do to World 3-4 times a year
They used to have a Premier Passport which gave access to both parks.
I've Never Been Or Went To Disneyland Before But I'm Hoping To Go One Day DFBGuide
