5 REASONS To Buy An 8" Dobsonian Telescope th-cam.com/video/oj9TnVu_vAA/w-d-xo.html
For EAA, I would recommend a Orion 8" f/4 Newtonian Reflector Astrograph ($650) and a Celestron Advanced VX Computerized Mount ($1000), if you are young an strong.
If you are elderly and weak (like me), I would recommend a Sky-Watcher AZ GTi mount ($435) and a Sky-Watcher Explorer 130P-DS telescope ($240).
The camera you recommended is okay, but I would recommend an SVBony SV705c ($380).
Very good information for anyone wanting to begin EAA. Thank you for your ongoing videos. Cs
Great info, thanks. My 12" dobsonian is on a truck being shipped to me now. 🤸🏻♂
Yay!!!! You will love it.

Great video.! You always give great information! Where did you get that shirt?! ❤️

Hola.
@@DobsonianPower Muchas gracias Tiago!!! Un cordial saludo!!
My brand new 8" Celestron StarSense Explorer arrived without the Dobsonian mount -- lost in transit. Might you know of someone who makes custom Dobsonian mounts?
I don't know. Maybe some stores sell it
Great information. Many thanks.
👍👍
What about an equatorial assembly? Is it good for dobsonians?
I don't understand your question
@@DobsonianPower oh, sorry I meant equatorial mount
Hey , Beginner here, so sorry for the naive question. I have an 8 inch GSO and found a used Sky-Watcher HEQ5 PRO for less that an equatorial platform. would it make sense as a setup ?
An HEQ6 pro would be better but yes, you can use it with the 8"because i know more people doing it, a bit awkward to stabilize with wind according to them.
@@DobsonianPower so as a beginner ++ setup I have an opportunity to get an asi533 mc pro and skywatcher heq5 pro goto wifi for 1700 euros would that make a decent setup for an 8" ?
@chettam1 i prefer my 8" over an eq platform so I'm not the right person to answer you and give you a recommendation about it.
@chettam1 however you can ask it in our discord server, people with those kind of set ups may give you an opinion
@@DobsonianPower That make a lot of sense. Thanks for your time
Does that mean we take the OTA of the dobsonian and place it on top of the EQ mount?
No. This th-cam.com/video/8NipBy6E63c/w-d-xo.html
is the equatorial platform absolutely necessary? or i can just use the rest of the gear (excluding the equatorial platform)and have the same results?
Not for planets and Moon but for deep sky objects you need tracking to get decent results easily.
I have an Apertura AD12, and I was able to get some good pictures of Jupiter, Saturn, and the Moon with my smartphone but when I tried for the Ring Nebula, Whirlpool Galaxy, and Andromeda Galaxy, the results were not impressive, or they were not visible in the picture at all (Whirlpool Galaxy would not show up). Additionally, magnifications higher than about 150x on Jupiter and Saturn caused them to fly out of the field of view in 15 seconds (I have yet to figure out why it's so quick, but this is my experience) or less which made it difficult to get pictures.
Great Video. I own That ASI 224mc, recently Stepped Up the Game and ordered an Optolong Moon and Skyglow Filter. Looking to photograph objects From this light polluted murk!
👍👍
Can be seen 2000 light yr ahead objects with dobsonian?
Yes
But where does one find an EQ Platform?
Many stores have. Mine is from geoptik.com
