      Hi Tiago, I have a 8 Inch Orion XT8, which I am very very happy with it, and now I want to dive into the Realm of Astrophotography by getting myself a Equatorial mount. One question I have, since you have also done astrophotography is that Does a properly setup gear for a dobsonian, such as mount, camera, field flattener, etc truly will allow you to take good images from lets say Andromeda or the Ring Nebula as comparable to a 4 inch refractor? I know this question is hard to answer and much depends on the skill of the astrophotographer, but maybe a better question is that "With a Dobsonian can you take as good or even better photos of Nebula's and Planets the same as a refractor?"

      @afshinp5819 man i would have to write a book to answer. The refractor is for wide field, the SC for deep and the newtonian is good on both. I prefer newtonians and their results, aperture is king

    I Bought my Dobsonian telescope and started some visual and astrophotography since 2021, and i dont know why but watching your videos and live sessions, i started to feel astronomy more addicting.

    A great informative video as always Tiago. I use my Dob mainly as a visual scope and many of these upgrades have made it easier for me to handle and manually track objects. Thank you for all the inexpensive hacks you have shown us over your time here on TH-cam. Keep up the great work.

    only problem i have with my dobsonian is the sensitivity when i try to move the center of the picture to a planet i either move it to much or to Little
    i thinking adding either a mechenical system that allows me to fine tune the movment or a system with electric motors and a simple joystick done

    • @DobsonianPower
      @DobsonianPower  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's a matter of getting used to that. Find the best tension in your altitude bearings and azimuth knob and move the tube very very softly. The upgrade of the 3 legs i show at the video also help me a lot to move it softly. You can see me doing that in my live streams. It's a skill, to fine tune a large dob. Not easy.

    Hi, What’s the chain for? And you have great information in your videos.

    • @DobsonianPower
      @DobsonianPower  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The chain is only to add more weight. It could be any other object but the chain fitted well there

    Upgrading like an engineer! 👍Have you ever tried merging the power of dobsonian with the power of night vision devices? I think EAA is superior, but NV is a big leap for visual, yet NV is expensive and very sensitive to bright objects

    • @DobsonianPower
      @DobsonianPower  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Of course. I would love to try NV but it's very expensive.

    Olá Tiago, como vc fixou os “pés “ para guardar o tubo na vertical? Justamente para não pressionar os parafusos da colimação o meu tubo fica com espelho para cima quando eu guardo o telescópio.

    • @DobsonianPower
      @DobsonianPower  ปีที่แล้ว

      Colocar para cima é um erro na minha opinião. Coloca demasiada pressão no espelho. Eu enrosquei eles mas se não tiver rosca pode fazer como eu no de 8" th-cam.com/video/c18C22wSwY0/w-d-xo.html

    One of my biggest regrets was selling my 12 inch dobsonian and now they cost $1000 more today in Australia 😢

    • @lightbridge1695
      @lightbridge1695 ปีที่แล้ว

      @DobsonianPower . At least I still have an 8 inch dobsonian. I followed your advice and put a Telrad finder on it. It was the best thing I ever did to a telescope.
      Great advice 😉

    Is a 400 Dobson (on a trolley) adapted ?
    Thanks

    • @DobsonianPower
      @DobsonianPower  ปีที่แล้ว

      No. You just need a telrad on Bortle 3. A 16" is a good telescope but as it's heavy it's better to think in a good way to move it
