i think this might be Act 5 Siffrin. and time is breaking so much that they're sort of able to see their family for a small time. because you know how Siffrin sorta sees little ghosts of their family in act 5? this is sorta like that.
[Spoilers for Act 6] Off all the times that Siffrin looped, this is one of the strangest. It does show his distress, but he only loops when either he feels his wish to stay together is impossible, or it legitimately is impossible. But they were still willing to stay with him at that moment, and were not suspicious of him, so why would Siffrin think its impossible? The only thing I can think of is that, in that moment, he saw them as more 2 dimensional characters as opposed to real people, and couldn't stay with his actors? Either way, this seems like an outlier and I love it
Loop's exact words for this loop (when they're discussing why Siffrin sometimes loops on non-deaths) are "You can't continue, because you all saw a ghost of yourself and they're reacting like nothing's wrong." It's a very strange loop for sure, but I think it comes down to a fear that this "terrible" version of himself is just... who he is in their eyes. Even if it's not bad enough for them to immediately abandon him, it's still surely an indication that he's not worthy of them staying with him after the quest is over.
It is true that through an objective lens it seemed fine! But when you've been trying to hide everything to such a degree for so long and under such anxiety, I think it becomes easy to feel that even letting your peers see any genuine emotion, is letting on too much. Wether that be to hold up the facade of being perfectly fine or to try be the role model of the group, etc etc. That's my 2 cents anyways, I hope that makes some sense :>
[ act 5 spoilers ] What do you think are the chances that this is the reflexion of an act 5 Siffrin from the future, since Siffrin experiences same kinds of hallucinations and time seems to be breaking in both timelines, so presumably at least one of those hallucinations is that from the ghost event?
Two Hat Spoilers (Act 6) Ok, my theory is that the ghosts are different versions of siffrin that gave up like loop did, they just, for whatever reason, didn’t become a star thing like loop
They did, they showed their concern and after explaining to siffrin they just kind of kept going because if siffrin isn’t saying anything about what they told him then they have no reason to assume the worst and they had other things to worry about at the time

I always assumed the ghosts were blank... It's so much worse that they're not.

I JUST NOW GOT THAT ALL THESE GHOST ARE SIFFRIN GOING THROUGH THE CASTLE ALONE AT ACT 5. DEAM.
Wow. I never got this one because I didn’t feel like looping so much but dang.

Well his distress says it all imo, he doesn't think he could stay with the version of the family that saw the ghost and accepted it as normal

I think Siffrin’s scared that they’ll be left behind since they’ll be “too much of a burden” if his team knows about his problems

Siffrin genuinely believes so many of his obviously fixable mistakes make him irredeemable, obviously something like this would do it too
Oof thats rough buddy

I thought it was loop sif before they gave up
That's so interesting... and really sad, too.
I wonder if that is Loop.
Maybe that's Act 6 Siffrin. He keeps seeing the others.
Same that’s what I’m thinking
@@twilightvulpineThis scene is so much sadder with the context of act 6
you mean act 5? act 6 is the epilogue and siffrin doesn’t have their hat
I feel like that ghost was loop or something like
It is really sad though that the others brush it off so easily. Why didn't they care?😢

Honestly, my favorite scene. Hits way to close
how to get that scene?
