I've been watching and re-watching every single video of yours before sleeping, in my TV, and I only noticed now how small you are for someone with such a quality content. You're fast, you talk well, and your suggestions on how to apply each subclass in each setting makes it even better.
Keep up this amazing job, I will be sharing these videos with every Player and DM that I know.

Mercy is right up there with the Kensei Monk in the highest tier of Monk subclasses. Monks still need more work to be on par with the rest of the classes in the game but Kensei and Mercy Monks are at least strong enough to hold their own which is more than most other Monks can boast.

I dipped my monk into fighter, those battle maneuvers I just re-flavored as my monk being trained in martial arts.

Personally, I think that being a follower of Pharika, God of Affliction would be a better fit on Theros. She is the god of poison, disease, healing and medicine. Athreos could work too, though.

Ahaha I play a way of mercy monk and I love her so much! She used to be pretty useless in combat until i realized that I was using the wrong ability score system(We rolled for stats but I didn't know that so I used point buy 😓) and now she's a really good asset to the party! Though the healing responsibility goes to our redemption paladin now 😔 but at least he has someone to back him up when he needs a boost.

Awesome monk flavor! Like you mentioned, it brings the monk to historical Europe.

Im working on a way of mercy monk that functions more like a slight buddhist hippie hermit. He learned from a master that left his old monastery to pursue more *psychedelic* methods of spiritual enlightenment, and the they believe that the healing and harming they can do is done by giving/taking spiritual energy. My character is actually pretty against killing, at least not when other options are available.

Crazy Thought: What about multiclassing this subclass with a "Circle of Spores" Druid?

My character for curse of Strahd is a Variant Human way of mercy monk. His name is Role and has the cobalt Soult Scholar background. All was great until I realized we are facing a lot of undead. My necrotic damage could be a hindrance.

I might be late but doesn't healing hurt undead? I'm pretty sure it does.

I brought this up with my DM early in the game. We are all fairly new players and he said “no”. I’ll have to bring it up again bc he never gave me an answer. Could you tell me the source so I can show him please?

@@lolurnotkelly healing doesn't hurt or heal undead. Maybe work with the DM to get some special/homebrew gloves or brass knuckles that can either deal radiant damage or convert healing to radiant damage. If the DM is feeling skeptical about balance, maybe have it where the weapon converts your hp to change damage type, but you can use hand of healing on yourself to mitigate it.

I have to admit, I didn't see this class coming, but maybe because it's stupid.
